Questions & Answers

BRIAN S : what is the flag material and does it have a stainless support to keep the flag full?Mario C : stiffener there and material is nylon
Shopper : Lengh of Pole?WARREN C : About 3 ft. I prefer a flag without a pole that can handle 1/2 inch PVC for the pole. That way I was able to make a fixture out of PVC pipe that I attached to my Sea Eagle combination SUP and sit on top Kayak. I also modified the pole for the Sevylor pole to fit inside a 1/2 inch PVC pipe pole.GARY S : 44 and 7/8th inchesGARY K : 4ft pole. It's a really skinny fiber glass one. I upgraded to one of those thicker 3/8" orange ones from hardware stores.
BRENT C : How long is the pole? (how high does the flag fly?) also what diameter is the pole? (trying to determine if it will fit into the rudder mount on the stern of my yak).RICHARD S : . The flag I have does not have a "factory" pole. I replaced it so I don't know length or diameter. I try to use something strong and flexible. Best thing I've found is a fiberglass "CB" antenna, though that may be expensive. Check Radio Shack. Currently I have a plastic pole from garden supply used for tying up beans, etc. I mount a 1/2" galvanized plumbing "floor flange" on the yak. Then I take whatever type of plastic pole I can find and glue a 1/2" brass plumbing reducer onto the end with marine epoxy. Then I can screw the flag in after I launch and remove before coming in to the beach (I launch at a dicey Norcal location where I sometimes flip the boat coming in). Definitely secure the flag to the pole with zip ties or something, otherwise it will blow off.BLAKE B : sorry but i used the pole&flag tied to a milk carton that is tied in the middle of an innertube. we drag this as we dive in freshwater lakes to follow the boating laws. the pole is 45in long and quarter of inch in diameter.
Shopper : how do I attach this to my ocean kayak?LeisurePro S : You will need to rig it unless your boat has some sort of mount
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?MARSHA M : It was the simplest dive flag and pole that I could find for our Kayak!LISA C : Reviews were good and it seems like it will meet my needs.DAN S : So I don't get run over while DivingWARREN C : For snorkeling outside of the swim area.BLAKE B : we dive clark lake mi. must have because of idiot boaters who dont read their state boat rules.

Better than Most

I saw a dive flag at a local shop which was cheap and real thin - was very happy to receive this flag since it is much thicker and appears better made.
