Charles S : how does the light output compare with the LED version?JULIA M : The LED version is much brighter. I've never had a problem with Ikelite PCa lights opening - they seem well made to me.B C : The manufacturer does not put out a comparison chart based on lumens and we do not have a light meter. Based on looking at both lights its fair to say that the LED version is at least 2 times as bright as the Halogen version.

Bright lights Crab City

Bright, but I wish I'd gotten the LED instead of the halogen. No one told me (!) that the Halogen only has about 2 1/2 hours of battery life. Sure enough, two dives later and the light is dimmer. Since I only use it for peeking into rocks for lobster during the day, and as a backup light at night, its ok. It IS very bright.

Great light, bulb replacement problem

Purcased two as "back ups" to our SL-4 based on price and size. The brightness, color, and focus of the beam was so good, we ended us using these as our primary lights. One of the bulbs burned out and I cannot locate a replacement. Even [@] doesn't have. If you can purchase replacement bulbs at same time, this is a pretty good inexpensive light.
