I have used the F2s in both freshwater and the ocean. The generous foot pocket and spring strap makes putting them on and getting them off a breeze with dry suit boots. They might be a bit too floppy with wetsuit boots. Very easy to manoeuvre and very comfortable. It is a short, lightweight fin and performs well with frog kick and back kick in the caves and tight spaces. They also performed well for me in the ocean. I am yet to try them in strong current. Thus far I am very pleased with them. It is a great fin all round and due to their light weight will make a good travel fin. Would love if Hollis would also make them in bright colours.

This is my 2nd set of Hollis F2's - I had one go missing on a dive outing, being neutral it vanished - was bummed, really happy to have a new set - really comfortable fin, perfect weight for me, very maneuverable, plenty of power in various kicks.

First pair of find. I bought these because they fit into carry-on luggage. When doing a proper fludder kick like a swimmer would, very little leg motion is needed to really move forward. They are efficient all through the leg stroke in either direction.

As heavy as full-size fins, but with no more propulsion (at least for me) than my $29 swim fins. I purchased them for a snorkeling trip (I am an experienced scuba diver), then returned them after testing them in a swimming pool against my usual fins (AquaLung slingshot) and my small swim fins.

Bought for our daughter as a birthday present. She dives and lives in Fiji. These were highly recommended for the hard coral area.

Good efficient fin. Powerful kick for a short fin. Have had about 20 dives w thus far (have 500+). Pack well. Most importantly is that these run quite large. I wear a 10/10.5 shoe etc. I have the medium fin. Unless u have a thick boot on they will be way too big even on the tightest strap setting. They are very wide as well.

Love it I ordered these fins for travel, tried them on a one week live-abord and they worked great. Compact for travel, quite robust and they give good propulsion and shorter than normal so it helps my photography, getting into tight places. I definitely recommend them

I've owned a pair of F1s for a couple of years. But most of my diving is really better characterized as "working under water" on archaeological sites in black water Florida rivers. We typically overweight, swim out to the middle of the river, go down a line, remove fins, and excavate (with lights!) pretty much as you would terrestrial sites. The greater drive of F1s is unnecessary and the size something of a nuisance. So, like several of my colleagues, I bought a pair of F2s. Which came off the first time or two I used them for the short surface swim out to the down line. Turns out you are supposed to adjust them as needed by changing how the spring-loaded heel keeper fits into its housing. Duh, right? But in my defense my F1s performed fine with the same "largest' fitting option so I was unprepared to need to make the adjustment on my new F2s. Happily I didn't lose one before my slap heads-with-palm moment. Anyhow, they're the perfect fin for our typical use in confined spaces and over limited distance in waters with little current. The only thing which would make them better would be yellow tips like some F1 models. ,

Great fin, moderate power but probably not ideal for strong currents, has a slightly different feel than most standard fins with very little resistance on the upstroke, however fairly easy to get used to.

I bought the fins for travel and ease of use. The spring straps work great andthe fins provide good power and response under water. They fit in my carry on which is impt . Used them fo et a week of driving in Bonaire without any problems

Love these fins. I used these fins during my freediving teat since back then I didn't have long fins. Everyone in the boat was looking at at as if i have 2 heads, since Im using a tech fins for freediving. Until I reached 66feet and came back to the surface with one breath! Enough said.

I've had a pair of these fins for years before Hollis bought the inventor out. I met the inventor on a dive trip and he had samples for all of us to try. I tried them and thought, "well okay, I'll buy a pair from John". As I used them, I really appreciated their efficiency, the less stress on my calves, and the amazing control I have in coral reef areas. Since I dive both cold with a drysuit and warm water, I use these fins under all conditions. I dumpted my other fins--split fins, Jet Fins, etc. and only use these fins. I bought two more. For someone who has been diiving almost 50 years and has old legs....these fins are great.

Just buy them and move on with your life. These are perfect in every way. I'm short middle aged and gave new mares away on the spot once I tried these. Had already bought for my husband and thought they required too much leg strength for me. Wrong. These are perfect.

This fins is suitable for smaller size divers or those who have negative buoyant feet. Fins float without the spring straps. Overall it does what it is made for. No problem swimming against current, all sort of finning methods allowed. It is much like a lighter version of Scubapro Jet Fins. Will recommend this fins for smaller size divers.

Light weight. Great for frog kick. I use them in sidemount. Not the best for power or speed, get F1 bat fins for that, but why would you want to race under water?\ Bought 2 more sets for my son and daughter.

F2 replaced my Vipers. Power is as good, but these are especially good for manueveing in trimmed hovering position and reversing or turning in tight places. Being a bit shorter, they pack much a better fit in my bag. Recommend carrying an extra set of screws & nuts for spring strap mount. Seems a week point that could fail after a few years of use.

I travel a lot and I'm trying to eliminate weight. These fins are great! I've always been a fan of Scubapro jet fins and these are a great substitute. Easy on/off with the stainless steel springs and much better for travel. Only Negative is the pin holding the spring? Will just have to keep an eye out for Rust.

Short, light and stiff. The spring straps make for very easy on/off. Comfortable foot pocket (at least for my bony feet with high arches).

I wanted to try a different style. These fins were as described and the proper size. Also liked the light weight and the included spring straps. My problem was that I just couldn't generate enough forward thrust to come near my other fins (several styles). I don't know if it was the fins or my strength or kicking style, but these didn't work for me.

What these fins lack in raw power, they make up for it in maneuverabily. They provide effortless kicking and great control without stirring up a lot of silt. They run big, the xl fits my size 14 with a full boot, and there's still a good amount of space left. Lightweight and easy to pack.

Disclaimer: this review was based on a pair of identical pair, as I haven't had a chance to put these to water yet. The Hollis F2 is a great travel fin, quite possibly the best technical travel fin. Where many travel fins are plastic fins intended for recreational use, the F2 mimics a technical rubber fin, and does so extremely well, but at about half the weight (depending on what you compare it to), even with the complimentary steel spring straps. Great for cave kick, great for turning, great for backing up. Depending on what tech fin you compare it to, you might find that this lacks a bit of thrust in the flutter kick, but compare it to any standard fin, and it performs beautifully. Great fin for the travelling diver.

The Hollis F2 are made of a monoprene, rubber like material that is double-bladed and vented on the back side. They also have a stainless adjustable heel strap. Haven't taken them to open water yet but in the pool they are terrific on both flutter and frog kick. They are also generally shorter and lighter than other fins make them excellent for travel. I wear a size 12 Aqualung ergo boot and the Hollis medium/large fits well.

Been using these for three years, good traveling fins, I haven't had much problems with these diving wise. However if you are looking for fins to give you some added power I would not recommend the Hollis F2. On the surface they are awful as power is greatly reduced. If you are in really good shape and value comfort/ ease of putting them on/ good buoyancy while diving over adding power, then these are the fins for you.

Tremendous travel fin sturdy but light easy to kick with and great propulsion. A must have for traveling.

Excellent quality. I ordered these fins, and returned them because they run large. Otherwise excellent fins that will fit in carry on bag for flight. Customer service is the best I've ever delt with. Very professional and knowledgeable. Simple return form. I sent thes back on Monday and received refund on Wednesday. Would definitely recommend them to everyone, professional, or novice.

Outstanding fins that are much lighter than F1 fins and assist better buoyancy.

Great Fins

Increase your power to weight ratio with Hollis Gear's new F2 Fins. If you are a traveling diver, looking to reduce weight or just favor a lightweight fin, look no further. The patented F2 is designed to add blade surface on both the down stroke and up stroke to increase your efficiency with any type of kick. The F2 is injection molded using high grade, heavy-duty monoprene construction and uses a shorter blade design which packs easy and improves agility in tight areas.
The F-2 Fin has a vented blade design that reduces stress while accelerating water over the blade. The generous foot pocket will accommodate various foot wear depending on the water temperature. The F-2 Open Heel Fin is available with adjustable stainless-steel spring straps that have angled strap mounts for comfort and a better transition of power. The fin is equipped with multiple strap mounting positions for a fine tune fit. The spring strap assemblies have an easy grip heel tab for quick and efficient donning and doffing. The spring straps are also depth compensating so no need for adjustments while on a dive. Fin is black in color, and comes in multiple sizes.
