The watch is great, however way to complicated to use for simple tasks ie timer etc

Heart Rate Monitor is great. Run/Walk features very good. Golf app is great. Sleep app is only fair. Terrible at counting steps. It really only counts arm swings and not steps at all.

Mine came with damage from the shipper (cut up band and face scratched up a bit. Really upset Amazon would help me fix it, it's a great watch though, so don't want to knock off stars for garmin, tracks my exercise and sleeping perfectly, and that is just why I bought it!

It's a change from my VivoActive due to no touchscreen but it has way more features and a much improved battery. Still navigating some of the bells and whistles but so far it's awesome!

My experience with this watch so far is good. My expectations of the watch have not been tested yet and me being in my senior years may not. In years past I used the Garmin for way points and area calculations for work and fires. The wearable GPS was a great tool. I will still use the GPS for track back and way points. Never know if I will need the GPS coordinates for mapping but nice to have the option. I like the lightweight and comfortable watch. It's not my everyday watch because I do some mechanics and don't want to subject the instinct 2 to the abuse, and prefer a smaller cheaper watch.

Still working on the learning curve, but got the buttons down quickly. Now to decide what I want and don't, but plenty of choices, and is working great for my needs. Love the long, long battery life.

It was a swap-out because another failed on me. I DO appreciate the efforts put forth by Garmin. I've owned them for a few years now? so this solidifies my continued use.

So happy to have a watch that doesn't die after 6 hours. Still trying to figure out how to set exercises. Able to get to the desired setting but then can't get it to record what I am doing

I have had this for about a month. I wanted to replace my apple watch with something a little more simple. The activity tracking is great and it is an all around great watch. The downsides are the out of the box watch faces leave a lot to be desired and the online builder is 3rd party and clunky at best. I do about a 2 hour bike ride every day and spend even more out in the sun and the solar doesnt seem to extend the battery life much at all, i can only get about 7 days out of a charge. I am sure there are things i can turn off but the documentation about how and what can be turned off is all but nonexistent.

Good watch I've had it about a month now, great for work. The HR sensor doesn't work because I have tattoos on my arm so that sucks, my Apple Watch never had any problems but whatever. But anyways it's super durable, tracks my runs, battery lasts forever. Just overpriced.

I had the Instinct solar 1 for quite a while and when the battery stopped holding a charge, I bought the Solar 2. I love most things, but, wish customizing the favorite activities was easier.

I brought first generation instinct watch was amazing and simple thing to wear because of battery last longer was best watch I ever had. Hey did you know that I grew up since I was kid wear many different watches over years, this is 50th watches I use. Now Let's talk about 2nd generation watch that I purchased, I suspicious the vibrate was weak and I called Garmin Support, He said it is defective so I asked did company do quality test on all watches but they said no. Really? How do new customer aware this is defective vibrate? I wonder? I been replacement it so there are another issue on this watch is buttons, some are loose cause press it accident without my knowledge as result this watch quality not great as 1st generation watch, Disappointment. However there are other issue, I use timer to remind me on cooking and remind on something but they update firmware make vibrate every time when I start the timer cause annoy and drain battery faster which there no option on it, Disappointment again. Now I felt this 300 buck watch not worth the cost because of quality. I hope they improvement on 3rd Generation Instinct, If they listen to us, I hope. Thank you for asking, Garmin.

I bought Garmin - Instinct 2 Solar a month or so ago. The watch is exactly what I needed and it doesn't look like a miniature phone. It looks like a rugged watch. The battery life is long lasting and the solar capability is vital.

This watch does it all. If you're an avid outdoorsman, a fitness junkie, or you just want a smartwatch that's durable this is the watch for you. It's super user friendly, has a ton of different options for fitness tracking, the GPS features are top tier, and it looks great. More than anything this watch is tough. I honestly feel like if a nuclear apocalypse happened today this watch would still be ticking tomorrow.

My previous watch was a Vivoactive 3 from 2019. I really liked its color touchcreen and its ability to store a few workouts. I was looking to replace it mainly for another Garmin with longer battery life. When I started using this Instinct, I was a little thrown off by how different the controls are. It took me a full day to reprogram my expectations. No color touchscreen as the most important tactile difference. I quickly learned the buttons and how to use each of the features of this watch. Another plus for not having a touchscreen is no more inadvertent touching of the screen when the face gets wet. Battery life is a huge plus. I might charge it once a week now. Memory is better, bigger selection of workout types, each with more specific options. Screen isn't as visually pretty, but is more functional, showing the info you want at a glance. Highly recommend for current Garmin users looking to upgrade battery life, memory capacity, and functionality.

I used to own the original Instinct Solar Tactical until recently. Unfortunately, the latest update rendered it useless causing it to discharge rapidly. That's when I contacted Garmin about my issue who were determined to get to the bottom of it. After a couple of days exchanging information I was told the issue was unresolveable and was offered the Instinct 2 Solar Tactical instead. Needless to say I agreed. The overall firmware architecture is very similar so navigating the watch menu wasn't foreign to me. I gained some new features, more activities, and some widgets are now more elaborate, which I enjoy. The new generation of the power glass stores more juice and the overall anesthetic is more refined. Garmin really stand behind their product and really take care of their customers.

I purchased this watch a few months ago and continue to be impressed with the quality, features and ease of use. Giving me more than I expected with the exception of the battery life when SP02 is continuous, then requires recharging about every 12 days which is still outstanding.

I originally purchased the Instinct Solar 2X Tactical and had to return it due to me not liking the 50mm. I was able to exchange it for the Garmin Instinct 2 Solar and I'm really happy with my exchange!

Coming from a long line of smartwatches - Sony, Pebble, Pebble 2 HR, Moto 360, Samsung Active 3, Fossil Gen 6 - this is my first Garmin. It's exactly what I was looking for: - fantastic battery life - lightweight - not all bells and whistles under the sun as a smartwatch, but the notifications - a great, great companion app - waterproof - Garmin's reliability. Observe I mentioned none of all the sports and adventure (compass, altitude, etc) capabilities of the watch as unfortunately my life currently leaves little time for it - still, my daily walks and stairs climbing, sleep, heart rate are always there. All in all, if you don't want the color displays and short battery life, and is looking for a no frills, superb watch experience, this is the one.

I'm 77, 2 years into retirement and just now starting back at the gym seriously. The Garmin watch and software provide an outstanding health monitoring system that allows me to workout hard and monitor so I don't over do it. It's even helping me understand my sleep problems and improve. Anyone my age needs to be in regularly scheduled workouts and monitoring their health. The Garmin system (watch + app) is one of the best ways to do that without being under medical care. It 's a watch for serious people.
