HB R : opinion on durability as checked bag?Peter Y : I have written a review about my poor experience with this bag--seams ripped on my first flight. Obviously a joke, but there are great duffel bags out there that I do like that can withstand airline staff. If you compare the 4E bag to a TNF Base Camp, you will notice immediate differences in quality. My TNF Base Camp bags have been overstuffed, beaten to heck, and they have experienced extreme cold and extreme heat--12 years later they are still just as reliable as the day I bought them. If you are going to buy this 4E bag, definitely buy it from Scuba.com. They stand by their quality guarantee and I was able to return my duffel for something different. You can also look into the Thule Chasm, although in my experience the shoulder strap mechanism fails from time to time if the duffel contents are too heavy.Mario C : Looked one up here it looks very well built... with that said haven't heard of any bag that is angry airline staff proof... this is a good try : )
HB R : What is weight of bag empty?ROBERTO P : This bag of 60 litres capacity, weighs empty 2.3 pounds (1.05 Kilos)

Great Bag

This bag is great. It's just the right size and shape for the airport and holds my gear in a well organized way. It's also fine on the boat. The materials have held up well over the last 70 dives. Fourth element is pricey but worth it.

I like it ... I like the orange color, the size is just right

I wasn't sure "exactly" what I was going to get with this bag. But it certainly fulfills one of my bag requirements. A bag to put all my "wet gear" in after the dive so nothing else gets wet. Just what the doctor (Instructor) ordered

Well builded

I have not used this duffel bag very much, I have it recently, but as I said it is strong, well constructed with quality material, to be used intensively. The model I bought is the 60-liter one to be taken with me in the cabin of the plane or have it as a handbag carrying the most delicate diving equipment with me. It is a bag that although not cheap is recommended.

Great Bag

This bag is great. It's just the right size and shape for the airport and holds my gear in a well organized way. It's also fine on the boat. The materials have held up well over the last 70 dives. Fourth element is pricey but worth it.

Inspired by discussions with some of Fourth Elements more intrepid dive team members, reporting that looking for a piece of black dive kit inside a black bag is never easy, but even more frustrating if you are at base camp in a cave system. Fourth Element developed the Expedition Series Duffel Bag as a solution to this problem. The orange color makes it easier to find your kit, bright enough to be found more easily in low light conditions and distinctive enough to stand out amongst the bags of your fellow divers. The bag is made from tough and enduring heavy-duty mesh PVC and the base is double lined for durability. It comes with shaped and padded rucksack carry straps and high-quality clasps. Buckles and compression straps complete a rugged specification. A removable ID card makes it even easier to label and identify your gear.

Bright orange inner to help find items this great gear duffel bag is available in multiple capacities depending on your dive kit needs. The Expedition Series Duffel Bag 60L measures 13.79" x 13.79" x 24.8" (35cm x 35cm x 63cm), with a volume of 3,661 cu. in. (60 liters). The Expedition Series Duffel Bag 90L measures 15.75" x 15.75" x 27.56" (40cm x 40cm x 70cm), with a volume of 5,492 cu. in. (90 liters). The Expedition Series Duffel Bag 120L measures 17.7" x 17.7" x 30" (45cm x 45cm x 76cm), with a volume of 7,323 cu. in. (120 liters). The Expedition Duffel Bags have a padded top grab handles, and end grab handles for easy lifting.
