Questions & Answers

PETER K : What’s the thickness of the material? I need to know wether two will fit side by side on my 8in doubles, which have a narrow gap in between.Mario C : With the 8”, I have roughly 2/16 – 3/16 inch in thickness.
Joshua S : What size boot does a 149 CF Tank take?WILLIAM J : 8" tank bootSTEPHEN M : 8"
TOM E : I need new boots for my faber lp95's.  What size fits my tanks?Mario C : 8 inches
DOMINICK M : Does the 5.5 inch size also have the internal side ribs for drainage ?JOSEPH C : I just checked my tanks. My aluminum 80's all have tank boots and they have small ribs inside to assist with drainage. My smaller steel tanks with the 5.5 inch tank boots do not but as stated by someone else there are drain holes in the bottom. My experience has shown me that there is not a problem with drainage on the 5.5's.ROBERT K : They are small, but they are there to aid drainage.LARRY MICHAEL L : Never saw a tank boot with ribs on the side. This boot has 5 holes on the bottom for drainage. One in the center and four on the circumference. All are big - 3/4" to 1" in diameter. The boot drains very well.Chris H : I don’t think so but I haven’t had any corrosion issuesSCOTT G : Mine came with ribbing?
Shopper : I have a vintage 38 cu. ft. steel tank. I believe it's just over 6 1/2" in diameter. I haven't found any information on a boot size for it. I'm guessing 6.7" boot?JOSEPH C : I have 2 old 1973 2640 psi tanks and the boots fit perfectly. Good luck.MARLENE Z : The Faber boot comes in a 6.7/6.9 inch option. Measure the bottom diameter of your tank to verify its size. The boot is a tight fit that will stretch a bit. If your tank is a fraction off the 6.7-6.9 it might work so it’s probably worth a try. You can always get a refund. Boot is durable, drains extremely well and has no angles around perimeter to poke you you in the back or damage wetsuit.STEVEN M : I bought this for my vintage steel 72, which has s circumference of 21.75 inches. Fits perfect.

Too flimsy

These boots are very flimsy. The rubber legs on the bottom are very soft and flex, allowing your tank to fall over. These are the stock boots that come on Faber steel tanks, but you should immediately replace them with a harder plastic boot!

Great Boot for an oval shaped 75 cu Ft Omega PCP Tank.

This boot fits like a glove on the 75 cu ft Omega Patriot edition PCP tank. I had a hard time funding it but scuba.com hit the mark perfectly. Great product and at a good price too with quick shipping.

Like a glove

Works great. Installed on Air Venturi 74 cu ft carbon fiber tank. Not sure if it would be too loose installed directly on the tank as I installed it over a protective mesh sleeve which made it fit perfectly.

Tank boots fit like a glove

Snug fit and gives good clearance on dual tanks. Had to move lower and up to ensure boots could fully seat to bottom of tanks. Very durable.

Fit like a glove

I have Coyne 95 8" round bottom steels and these fit perfect. I had tried other hard plastic boots and they would slide off or move around so the tanks did not stand straight.

All Scuba cylinders need a tank boot to protect the lower surface from damage. The steel cylinders need a tank boot even more with their round bottom design. The boot allows the tank to stand up straight on a stable flat surface making mounting of buoyancy compensators, harness systems and regulators easier. Blue Steels tank boots are specially made for Faber steel cylinders. These self-draining flexible PVC boots are easy to assemble to the tank and provide a streamline profile for tank racks or double cylinder set-ups. The boots are available in multiple sizes to fit the 5.5", 6.7" to 6.9", 7" to 7.24", 8" diameter Faber cylinders.
