Questions & Answers

Eric P : Hi, do you guys know how much space it gives between the tank and BP after installing this? I have problem that my wing stressed the first stage when it's fully inflated.. so thinking of getting this to make space between BP and the tank. Do you think this will help? thanks.Steve S : It does not add much space at all.KEVIN C : This won't add any significant space between the tank and wing.
Shopper : I am sorry, does this item come with the nuts and bolts to attach to your BP? I think somebody has asked this if you sell separately, but does this mean it's included or not for this purchase?JEFFREY S : Comes with nuts and boltsSteve S : Yes, this does in fact come with all of the mounting hardware.hiep l : Mine didTOWN H : Bolts were includedTHOMAS Q : It is included. GARY R : Yes. Stainless Steel bolts, nuts and washers included.DAVID B : It came with the nuts and boltsWILLIAM M : It has been a bit since I purchased mine, but as I recall, it did come with the nuts and bolts.TED S : When I purchased this item, it came with the screws and wingnuts as shown in the picture. The rubber strap protectors came with it also.
STEVEN P : i have a zeagle ranger bc,thinking about getting a backplate. Can i use the standard tank steps that come with it?JOSHUA R : Yeah, that will work with your Zeagle RangerDOUGLAS F : It is my understanding that the single tank adapter is just for backplate/wing configuration. I have a Zeagle backplate and Dive Rite wing and the single tank adapter works great. It looks like your Ranger is a jacket style BC, so I'm not sure you need this. Sorry this is not a definitive answer.YAN G : Yes, you can use those cam bands with this STA.
Joseph H : I notice pic (DR STA ) has wing nuts. Seems like they would be sticking into wing or me.?ALEXANDR K : Those nuts are sticking in the direction of your back, however you do not feel them because of the shape of your backplate. Never been a problem to me.DOUGLAS F : No, not a problem.-Doug F.JEFFREY S : They recess inside the plate. Never an issue for me.KENNETH G : I worried about the same thing, but I or my family have ever had a problem with them sticking into anything. NOTE! This picture is NOT the way mine are configured. The wing nut is on the other side of the adapter and goes through the back plate on the harness which is reset in and doesn't touch your back. Of course if the bolt was extra long somehow it might. I think this picture is done this way so you know the plate comes with a bolt and wing nut but is not the way it is used.WILLIAM M : The adapter is constructed with the plate on either side of the wingnut bent at an angle. This makes the wingnuts recessed relative to your back. I have never had a problem with the wingnuts on the adapter or on a Dive-Rite backplate ever sticking me in the back or abrading a wetsuit or drysuit.TOWN H : Sorry, i misinformed you, my backplate is shaped as a "V" and the wing bolts don't touch your Back because of this. TOWN H : No, the tank plate is shaped and the wing nuts are on the tank side. I have been diving this setup for many year. No problem with wing nutsKEIFE E : you'll never feel them. They are short enough not to affect anythingJoseph H : Thanks TedKEVIN C : I attached the STA to a Hollis back plate, the wing nuts and bolt do not touch the wing or my suite. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer took your concern into account when the manufactured the product. I had the same concern but the STA is a great addition to my backplate. Hope this helps.TED S : The wing nuts sit in the channel of the backplate. I use similar wing nuts to attach doubles to the backplate and even with the weight of doubles, I've never felt the wing nuts touch my back.THOMAS A : You can set them up so they are sticking into you. But it's not as bad as it sounds. I just cover them over with a couple of pieces of duct tape and it works fine. that way it doesn't abraid, puncture, or rub against anything. you can switch to standard nuts but I find the wing nuts much more convenient despite the need for tape to cover them.GLENN H : Nope, not at all. Good product.CHELSEA W : They go on the side towards the tank and if you have too buy shorter carriage bolts to fit your rig. Don't be afraid to customize your gear.
Shopper : Picture includes two non-slip cam strap pads. Yes, description states no cam straps and none are shown. But what about these two pads. Are they included in the purchase price?JOSE R : Do you sell the no slip pads separately?WILLIAM M : They were included in my order.NICHOLAS P : i received the two pads when i ordered the STAMICHAEL C : It does come with the no slip pads.

Great Buy For a Backplate

Once you get this bad boy adjusted right, your trim will be much more stable and the tank will sit more evenly to allow better diving. It adds some weight to your setup so you can expect to take around a lb or 2 off of your belt. I would aso recommend that you get the better Dive-Rite Cam Straps since they are stainless and basically indestructable. I rate it a 9 out of 10. I would recommend that if you are diving a backplate to add more weight to your plate itself. They do sell Channel weights that will add 4 to 11 lbs vaiously. It beats wearing all that weight in the water.

basic STA works fine

Dive Rite's Single Tank Adapter (STA) has been re-sized to fit squarely in the opening of Dive Rite's Travel and Voyager Series Wings (see SKU: PCKDDREV). For divers who frequently switch between double tank and single tank rigs, Dive Rite's Single Tank Adapter is a convenient way to attach cam straps to a hard metal back plate that does not have tank band slots. Increase the versatility of your set-up with this single tank adapter. Adapter is constructed of marine grade 304-stainless-steel, comes with mounting hardware and tank band pads, measures 13 x 3-3/8" (33 x 8.5cm) and weighs 13 oz (.37kg). Note: STA does not include cam straps.
To avoid unnecessary wear and tear, remove metal back-plates and singles mounting plates from the wing for transport and do not carry a metal plates stuffed into a dive bag along with a wing and other soft goods.
