This snorkel is easy to clear and as with any snorkel, does let some water thru. Always clear the snorkel and use caution before taking that first breath. With this Snorkel attached to my Cressi Focus Mask, I could not get comfortable regardless of adjustment, It just didn't fit right with this mask - for my purposes and comfort.
