Shopper : Why is this mask so inexpensive? It appears to be as good and have identical features as other name-brand masks, costing 3x as much. Any catch or downside here that I'm not seeing?FRANSISCO N : This is a very good mask for the price . It all depends on how good it feels on your face . And for how long it feels right underwater .Very often after an hour or so a mask starts to leak an fog up . So I own about 30 mask and bring 4 or 5 on each dive until I select one that feels good all day .One maybe great for snorkeling but it does bad at 80 feet . Because you age , you lose weight and gain weight all these factors contribute to changes of your face . So for a small price its not bad to give this one a try .GREGORY M : This a clone of the Sherwood Magnum II. The Akona Barbados, Scubamax Navigator, Edge Belize, and a host of others are basically the same dive mask with some changes to the plastic and strap clips. I have installed custom prescription lenses in Tropical (and all listed above) and all of my customers are happy. The Tropical will fit most average/smaller size faces well. The silicone is pretty much the same for all; but not leaving it in the sun and rinsing off with fresh water when done is key to mask longevity.MAURICE S : I bought one of these for a friend at the gym I go to and she swims there 5 days a week and she loves it and has not yet had any issues with it. I wear one like it but not the same brand and it's been holding up great in the chlorinated pool water that will eat-up clear plastic frames in about three months. Only had to change the strap once. I guess this is just a great deal.

Cressi Tropical mask

I haven't used it yet, but so far this appears to be as nice as any other name-brand mask (same modern design, quality silicone, and tempered glass lenses) but at a considerably better price than most. The only negative is that it doesn't come with any protective case, as most masks generally will. If you want the protective case, as most divers generally do, then factor that cost into this one (which actually raises the cost by about 40%).

The Cressi Tropical Mask is a traditionally designed low volume 2-window mask with a double feathered edge silicone skirt.
