It came exactly as described. Not sure if I will use it with 2 or the full 3 sections it comes with. It is longer than it appears because of the tip being so long

Cheap and effective. The pentium tip will eventually splay, but fish do not get off it easily. In fact if I had a knock on it, the five point tip tends to rip them up good getting the fish off. I use it for lionfish and have had much success even with larger fish up over 12 inches.

Very heavy, too long, it loosens in the middle do to weight. Positive side the prong is very nice!

A great pole spear for getting rid of Lion fish. Easy to handle and the two-part shaft fits in my dive bag.

I read the reviews before I bought this pole spear for my vacation and leisure pro told me that the tip was improved and I would not have any problems. They were right and I did not have any issues. It's a good product for the money and I have other products from this brand that I like a lot.

Only problem is that Cressi uses a different threading count than most "American" brands like JBL...so getting different points is harder.

SAME ISSUE AS THE PREVIOUS COMMENTS, FIRST TRIP OUT SHOOT A NICE SHEEPSHEAD(14-16") FIGURED WITH 4 of 5 prongs in he was secured, AS SOON AS HE WAS STRUCK HE SNAPPED 4 OUT OF 5 PRONGS OFF!!!! TALK ABOUT A SHIT DESIGN WISH I SAW THESE REVIEWS, BOUGHT THIS ONE AND THE GENERIC STRAIGHT FIBERGLASS SINGLE FLOPPER HEAD, *****BUY THE GENERIC THIS IS VERY SLIPPERY AND YOU WILL BE REPLACING THE TIP (THIS THIS SUCKS)

Short and sweet/bitter: Pole is good. sturdy, wont flex when under tension, very stable and doesn't move around when put together. The tip is a piece of crap. I'm down to two tips and haven't even hit anything. just testing out the pole in the water aimed at nothing. Started with five barbs, down to two... that's not good. Oh, all in about one hours worth of time. This isn't a bad buy for the money, but expect to try to find a replacement tip ASAP.

After buying and returning 3 of them, 2 from Leisure Pro and 1 locally, for my last dive trip...I was seriously disappoint with this Cressi. It's hard enough to spreer a fish anyway, let alone using a segmented pole Speer that should be straight but had about a 12 degree bend when all 3 piece were assembled, about 7 degrees with two segments. Bad quality control! I have a dive buddy that bought about a year before I did and his is perfectly straight, go figure.

I purchased this to have different size options available while spear fishing. The pole is well constructed and feels strong. The tips is VERY aggressive. It has 5 points spread quite wide and has very large barbs which won't be forgiving to your catch when you pull it out. I recommend using a different tip with this. Tip thread on the end is 6mm but you'll need an adaptor if you decide to use it in a shorter configuration for example using just the first piece with a tip.

I bought 2 of these setups for lionfish hunting in Jamaica... both first shots hit & killed lionfish, but resulted in the individual prongs being severely bent & loosened in the mount.... Was able to gently straighten & get back to hunting, second shot- dead fish, but 2 prongs fell out! These are not welded, rather cheaply glued in to the mount... Good luck getting it fixed in the Caribbean in time to finish your dive vacation... Advice: buy a solid welded spear head, & use these poles with it!

I got the two piece, was the wrong choice hard to transport when traveling, end up paying an extra piece of luggage for a fishing rod tube. The tip was the main issue after killing 10 lion fish , to start six prongs are too many and the barbs very aggressive destroying your pray after fighting to removing them from the spear, I lost the first prong pulling a fish, next shot I lost another one, after my dive I realized that they are glued to the hole. So I had to cut the pole to fit in my bag, I'm looking to replace the tip. Now not sure what fits the pole....?.??

This is my first spear and seems to be well built and should be a good learning tool for my new venture into spearfishing for bass, crappie, and bream. I got the 2 piece and it does not fit in my dive bag but not a big deal. I would get the 3 piece if you need it more compact when broken down.

Good cheap lionfish killer

The Cressi Aluminum Pole Spear is the perfect solution for traveling hunters. Threaded lightweight sections breakdown to fit in a typical dive bag and can be quickly assembled once at the dive site. Included with the pole spear is a five-prong Lionfish cluster tip and high-quality power band. Other tips are available. The pole spear has thick walled aluminum construction for strength and durability. Pole spear comes with a protective tip cap. The three-section design not only makes for compact storage, but also allows you to select multiple lengths of spear use depending on dive conditions and your quarry. Use as a short 26.4" (62cm) power band section with tip for lionfish hunting. Increase the length by adding the second 26.4" (62cm) section with tip for low visibility and hunting in tight spaces and under reefs and rocks. For full length of 6.5' (2m) add the short 19.45" (50cm) section with tip for open water and clear condition hunting.
