Very comfortable and warm suit. I have 3,000 hours on mine before I had to replace the zipper. Eight hours of ice diving wearing 3 layers of socks, thermals and a omniheat jacket you will be toasty warm. Material is durable, I have maybe one or two small cuts crawling in and out of rocked ponds and working in culverts. Always go with latex cuffs, they are more durable, comfortable and you will Not get the trickle of water you do with neopreme seals. At 2,500 hours I ripped a seal, it took 30 seconds to pop a new one in. Only drawback is their "innovation" non-stitch technology. The only thing holding the suit together is glue and a layer of tape. The seem in my crotch ripped open at 100 hours. The seem on the waste, conveniently right where the weight belt sits, ripped at 1000 hours, front and back. Where the straps on your BCD sit, about 2,500 hours. I carry a large tube of Aquaseal and it's an easy fix. However, Bare will Not repair the suit where Aquaseal has been used. Between myself and 15 other underwater contractors we have bought and used every suit there is. This is the best and what the majority of us use.

Very good suit and best price I could find for it. This is my fourth neopreme dry suit.I waited to use suit for a season before writing this review. I dive Great Lakes area. I contacted Bare directly by phone for sizing since I didn't seem to fit size charts (They will help you with sizing and questions). You decide boot and seal sizes when ordering. I went with neopreme seals for durability but get small trickle at wrists even though seal feels good. Glad I added suspenders (and two glue on thigh pockets) as extras. I always go with the hard sole boots and have used Turtle brand fins for years with my suits.(They do tear after a few years of abuse but then you always have a spare.)

Purchased drysuit for third drysuit diver on regional dive team. Excellent for deeper and cold water dives encountered quite often in fresh water lakes in region.

For over 10 years this suit has delivered the ultimate performance and durability and has become a favorite among sport and commercial divers. Now offered in and HD version, this "workhorse" comes standard with a metal dry zipper and extended Kevlar knee pads for added durability and protection. Now with wider HD seam tape to keep seams strong and leak free for a lifetime of use. Bare's constantly implementing advancements in design and construction into their suits. With the D6 HD, Bare's NST process (No Stitch Technology) uses double heat tape technology and a wider HD seam tape to securely seal seams while maximizing the suits overall stretch characteristics. Inner fabric is a high stretch blend of nylon and spandex that's incredibly smooth, for easy donning over thermal layers.
When tasked with building an even tougher and durable neoprene dry suit than its predecessor, Bare's design team looked to some of the toughest protective gear in the world, from across a variety of industry, and conceived a suit with Diamond-Tuff laminate, a heavy-duty metal dry zipper, wider HD Seam tape and extended K-PADz (Kevlar) knee protection. These features make the D6 HD highly abrasion resistant and give it long run durability. This technology makes suits without a single seam stitch. Instead, seams are double-glued and heat taped inside and out. This Bare exclusive deliver's superior performance and maximizes the life of your dry suit by eliminating holes in the neoprene from stitching. NST can be found on all neoprene dry suits.
Neoprene is made in 'buns'. They are cooked in an oven, then 'sliced' horizontally into the thickness required. i.e. 6.5mm, 5.0mm, 3.0mm. The sliced surfaces are called 'open cell'. The neoprene slice is sometimes compressed to offer more stable thermal and buoyancy characteristics and laminated on one or both sides, depending on the purpose. Abrasion resistant knit fabric with heavier yarns improves the dry suits overall durability. The right amount of protection on the knees depends on type and style of diving do. Bare offers a variety of fabrics, ranging from Kevlar to a durable and flexible Melco to protect you and your dry suit. K-PADZ are made from Kevlar laminated over neoprene with Melco 75500 taped edges for durability with added padding.
