You can go with this pending how you operate at the surface I myself like to be conservative with my gas should I have to go back down. I personally prefer the SV2 semi-dry snorkel as it easier to purge but also retains air in the tube and for $20 or so more dollars give you more confidence so to not get water in the first breath. I just like the SV2 better but you can this if want to.

First, this an incredible snorkel. I've used it all over the world in warm, cold, choppy, and calm waters. For those that say it's junk, LEARN to use a snorkel and how to position it and your body. For those of you that actually know what you're doing, this is the BEST. SNORKEL. EVER. It also folds nicely to travel with and is super light. SCUBA, SPEARFISHING, ABALONE DIVING, and REC SNORKELING, it does it all with ease. The SV1 is no joke.

I've had two of these. (Lost the first on a back-flip boat entry). Not a big snorkler but seems adequate as scuba gear. Stylish.

I purchased his snorkel last summer and after a year of using I have found that you can find another snorkel that functions better for cheaper. I am a Floridian that snorkels a lot (usually every weekend) from March to September. I will have to say it is a light, comfortable, and easy clearing snorkel. But it doesn't clear while exhaling as easy as it seems. You have to put a little effort into clearing it. I find myself clearing it often although it's not as hard to clear as some others I have used in the past it does take more than just the normal exhaling to clear it. I find that the gargle will stay until I actually put effort into it to clear it. I have found that the snorkels with a float in it actually works the best. They allow no water in and are usually easy to clear if some comes around the mouth piece. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't spend my 60 dollars on this product and buy something different. I really didn't have any reviews to go by when I researched this product so maybe this will help out.

About the only thing that I can say about this snorkel is that the mouthpiece is comfortable. Other than that it floods in any type of chop and is a pain to clear. I had to cover the top of the snorkel to get the purge valve to actually work.

This snorkel is just not dry enough. The double valve doesnt clear enough water and is a gimmick. I used this snorkel for scuba, and freediving. I am pretty active in the water while freediving and on one occasion aspirated sea water because the snorkel had difficulty purging water and I was constantly sucking alot of sea water. I recently bought a riffe stable snorkel and I cant even compare them its so much better. The stable is almost completely dry. If you want a dry snorkel get one with a large reservoir above the exhaust/purge valve.

This is the best snorkel for scuba diving. Ultra slim with flexy hinge for the mouth piece to get out of the way when under water. For snorkeling, it floods easily.

Atomic makes great equipment and I am not really bashing their snorkel. (Please note that I am an Atomic customer.) It simply floods too easy for a high quality snorkel. Yes, it is easy to purge and it should be. Bottom line: For the money there are other options that perform equally as well.

Everything Atomic makes is top-shelf and this snorkel is no exception. Extremely easy to put on and take off the mask strap. As with all things Atomic, this snorkel's not cheap but you're paying for high quality design, materials and manufacture.

This product easily floods. It would be better if it was straight, instead of curved. It especially floods if you tilt your head, as that causes the top to curve even closer to the water.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of the deep blue sea with the Atomic Aquatics SV1 Snorkel, an essential companion for every dive enthusiast who wants to enhance their underwater adventure!
Observing divers, one might notice that many choose to dive without a snorkel. But what they miss out on is the extended bottom time a snorkel offers by conserving air that would otherwise be wasted while breathing at the surface. With the Atomic Aquatics SV1 Snorkel, dive deeper and explore longer!
This advanced snorkel features a low-profile design that's easy to clear and a Scupper Valve (SV), or one-way valve, that efficiently drains water from your snorkel, keeping it dry on the inside. An added bonus for Scuba divers: the Atomic Aquatics SV1 Snorkel's flexible lower tube automatically swings out of the way when you're using your Scuba regulator. So you get all the benefits of a snorkel without the inconvenience.
Comfortable, functional, and easily adjustable thanks to a quick-release snorkel keeper with a 30 Degree rotation and sliding adjuster, the Atomic Aquatics SV1 Snorkel is as practical as it is stylish.
