Crazy loud, seems to hold up well. I have it attached and rolled up inside of my dsmb. If I need one I'll probably need the other. Hopefully I'll never need either.

This whistle is incredibly loud. Never had to use it and hopefully never will, but I feel much more comfortable with it. A whistle can be heard much further than a human voice over open water. The package says it can be heard underwater, as well.

One freaking loud whistle that's for sure. Small so it's out of the way, colorful so it's easy to find if you need it.

I have one of these mounted on the corrugated hose of each of my BC's. They're a bit big, but you can't beat the volume!

The cheap little whistles that come with a lot of BC's don't work well in the open ocean with waves and wind. This whistle is the best whistle available, it packs a punch. I always have one on the hose of my BC. I would also recommend a power whistle that runs off of the tanks compressed air. When boat diving I use both. Hopefully, you will never have to use them, but along with a scuba tuba you can be prepared.

I bought one for bike riding out in the desert and I wanted another for my scuba gear. I find it is loud and works well. hope we never have to use it.

The whistle I needed was " wind storm ", but the product that arrived from scuba.com was the same manufacturers " storm whistle ". Both whistles have the same purpose of use, but pointed out that customers are not satisfied if products with names and shapes different from the products on the Website are posted. Scuba.com admitted honestly and did the procedure to quickly refund the mistake I pointed out. I realized that scuba.com is a company that does not betray customers trust regardless of the amount of items purchased. I would like to continue shopping at scuba.com in the future.

The Storm Whistle is loud enough to be heard from a distance away (and deafen the ears of the person using it).

I have bought these before and if you are any kind of outdoors person who goes hunting or hiking then this is a necessity. If you loose your way, this whistle can be heard for some distance. I get one for all my grandkids and other relatives especially out camping and hunting. Wouldn't be without one. If you got hurt and need to alert someone it is a life saver!

Had this around my neck at all times as a dive master coralling 35+ snorklers in the open ocean on a snorkle boat. They may not hear me yell when it was windy and choppy, but the whilst definitely caught their attention. I always keep in in my BC pocket when diving.

I was in a situation where I had to use this whistle, and no one could hear it until the boat was practically on top of me. Not safe. This was not an extreme situation- a small swell, not especially windy, in the tropics. Luckily I had a large safety sausage.

Have you seen the movie "Open Water"? They wished to have a whistle like that. If the captain will not hear you whistling, nobody else will. I would like to try it in winter time against the wind, I'm curious. By the way, when you try it, be alone, slightly bother your eardrums...

I carry this whistle in case of emergencies while on the surface. This whistle is very loud and does exactly what it says it does. I am in the Army and we use this exact same whitle. You will have NO PROBLEM getting somebodys attension using this.

Above the surface if you blow the whistle full blast it will make your ears ring after. Saying it's loud is an understatement. Does not use a ball, so there is nothing to break or corrode, simple durable design.

The purpose of this item is for emergency use. To alert, call, warn, identification and location. It is VERY loud and will work in all conditions. Everyone should have one. I bought two; one in a EDC/hiking bag and one in my survival bag.

This whistle is LOUD. I also bought the "Jet Scream" whistle and it is not as near as loud. It works so so as an underwater signal, but I bought it to summon help on the surface of a lake or quarry, and to use on boat dives as a locator. It comes with a metal ring attachment - it would be nice if it had a lanyard to tie it off to the inflator hose (had to make my own). Also I'm not sure that it floats - nice feature if you carry it in a pocket and drop it! Pay the extra few buck and get it - if you ever need it that's money well spent.
