Me and my dive buddy got separated from two other divers on a dive trip on a new location. Upon surfacing, the weather changed drastically. Waves were really strong and our boat couldn't be located. We weren't able to swim ashore because it was a huge wall of rocks (we would have been slammed into it). I had no whistle, no signal device (the horn that connects to the inflator) and no marker. Vomited probably 4 to 5 times... I was desperate. After 15 to 30 mins (felt like a lifetime), the boat finally saw my dive buddy's red marker. When we got to the shore, I swore I would never dive again. Two weeks later, we were diving again lol. I bought the marker, the signaling device and the probably going to buy the whistle just in case. I hope you never have to use any of these emergency things but if the situation arises, you don't want to be thinking how 20 dollars could have saved your ass. My buddy used his marker approximately 5 years after he bought it. It's been tucked in of the pockets in his BCD all this time, sometimes taking it out to wash it. When he finally used it, it didn't fail. So, I bought the same lol.

This can only be filled by mouth. cannot fill with your regulator under water.

I added "DIVER" in large letters. The tube itself works well but its just another floating object for dumb boaters. When they see "diver", "diving" of similar they keep their distance.

I'm impressed how fast this safety sausage inflates. It seems like three deep breaths and it is sticking straight up. I got the yellow color and love how clear and obvious it is.

You want the largest size available when your in trouble and waiting on a pick up. I have only needed it once and since the Coast Guard had trouble finding me with the larger size this one would be inadequate. Surprising how small they get when large swells and fog separate you from a boat. This and a whistle are your life savers.

This is a good travel sausage - Fits in the pocket of a BC vest and is easy to deploy. Mouth inflated - and has a clip on a short strap to attach to a D ring. This is a medium size sausage - in bright colors - good for drift diving or emergency use. The attachment strap is too short so I extend it half a foot with a cord looped through the D ring. Every diver should have one for poor visibility - rough water - drift diving.

I haven't had to use this yet (thankfully) but I love that it is bright orange and was a great price! I unrolled it and inflated it slightly just to make sure it works and it was very easy to use and rolls back up great!

After receiving this item in the mail, I unrolled it and attempted to blow it up. Immediately I was taken aback by the cheap feeling of the material compared to others I had used. As I attempted to blow it up i realized there was a hole through one side and out the other near the base. No idea what caused it as it appeared to be in original packaging and unused. I sent it back for a refund. Perhaps this would be a reasonable buy at half the price, but certainly not worth $20.

Be sure to attach another loop/clip. The plastic clip opened-up on me and I lost mine while diving. Otherwise, thiis is a good product. I like how it holds the air and does not deflate at the surface like some do. Do not over-fill when deploying from depth - they can rupture due to air expansion
