JILL K : Will this work to secure a console?MICHAEL G : No, it is not a good choice for that. because when unclipped, it will hang too far down. then you need two hands to clip it. for a console, i recommend a retractable lanyard. that springs back. this coil is more for gear that you only need to clip or twice during adive like a light or camera.SIM M : Yes it will I believe :)ALLISON R : Yes, although it would probably be too long when unclipped and too short when clipped. I use it for my dive lights, which I unclip during the dive. The lights hang down pretty low if I drop them because the coils stretch considerably. I prefer this "Coil Lanyard" for holding my Dive Light. When I am really searching, I can un-clip, and have a couple feet of mobility, and then clip it back, to a shorter position, when I am ascending / descending. This "Coil Lanyard" is perhaps a bit too heavy for a simple Gauge Console, but it would work. I prefer a smaller retractable lanyard for my Gauge Console, since I simply let it go after I read it. Coil Lanyards are a bit more heavy duty than needed for a Gauge Console, but it will certainly work. I use my Coil Lanyard for my heavy 3,000 Lumens Dive Light. Shopper : What is the clipped size, end to end?NAUM S : it is approx 8" in its natural coiled state. It will stretch to approx 24" comfortably. it will extend to approx 30" with a lot of force applied. I have used several retractable lanyards with strings, and lost a light from breaking the string on the Dive Boat ladder. In my opinion, the coil lanyards are a better choice because they have no moving parts, springs, or strings, and you can easily clip the item, Dive Light, or Camera, at a close distance when you are done with it. ChuckRON B : 24" easy. We use it to keep the camera attached to the BC during the dive. it keeps it close to the vest and then I unhook one end and can extend the camera arms length for any shot. Holds camera securely.

Works perfectly to secure my camera to my BCD. The coil stretches to allow me to look at the camera info and to carry the camera at my waist if I want. Don't have to worry about dropping it at the safety stop.

Well Made

I bought one for my dive light and ended up purchasing 2 more. We do a lot of lobster diving and a light is a great advantage in our cold, dark, Massachusetts water. They work great. I start the dive with the light clipped into my Zeagle BCD, unbuckle for use and then reconnect before I get back on the boat. I haven't lost a light yet.

Perfect length

Great lanyard for my console.

This coil lanyard is the perfect size to hold my console tight to me yet still see my console. It has enough stretch to adequately use the compass when the buckle is unclipped.

Nice Lanyard!

This works perfect for my compact flashlight that I use to look into holes and under rocks. It extends far enough to be functional and still keeps me from dropping the flashlight. I am buying another one for my underwater camera.

No more dropped knifes

After almost loosing a nice titanium BCD knife with a sticky lock and then actually loosing it, I decided to buy this to secure my knife to my BCD. As soon as I roll in to the water and signal ok, I unsnap it and it's ready to be use. I bought a green to give a little contrast to all my gear.

Works Great!

I used this for a one week vacation diving in St John USVI. Attached my Fujifilm XP200 underwater camera for easy access and easy connection. Never failed and got great video and Photos!

Great little accessory

This makes it simple to clip it to a D-Ring on your BCD and go. I have it connect to my dive light for an easy grab. When I need it, I can unclip it with one hand, and clip it back. So far it has held up with no problems on about 15 dives. I like it because if it were to snag, it is plastic which can break easily or if the lanyard snagged, it can be cut easily. I would usually use bolt snaps but I wanted something that is retractable and this fits the bill great.

Plastic connection is a one-way connect. This can be a problem underwater when you need to rehook and move quickly.

Good Torch Cord

I like this setup with the primary light for night diving. Clipped to any D ring you can keep this where you want it and release it on lanyard when needed.

Versatile coil lanyard

I bought two of these - one to clip on a ContourRoam video camera housing, and the other to clip on my compact camera housing. I like that the overall length is relatively short when retracted and snapped together. I also found that I could use the coil as a wrist strap while snorkeing, which made the lanyard even more versatile for me.
