AUSTIN F : Does the UV lens need to be scrubbed before initial use? I have heard that UV lenses may not need to be cleaned.darrick c : Hello Austin, no, you do not scrub these style lens. You will scratch the UV film on the lens if you do pretreat this mask.
JEFFREY W : I just purchased the Apeks VX-1 from Leisure Pro for my son and it fits him incredibly well.  Next step is to try it on in the open water!  Do I need to scrub/treat the inside of the lens to remove any leftover film from the manufacturing process? If the answer is yes, what is the recommended way to do that?Mario C : yes you will. There are many products and methods available, it is one of those topics that can go for hours on a dive boat.. we recommend a dedicated mask cleaner/scrubber. many different brands make it. <a href="https://www.leisurepro.com/l/?searchinfo=mask%20cleaner&sel=Item-Condition_New-Items" target="_blank">https://www.leisurepro.com/l/?searchinfo=mask%20cleaner&sel=Item-Condition_New-Items</a>ERIC B : Yes, you will need to clean the inside of the lens to remove the film to prevent fogging. Toothpaste works great. There are several youtube videos on how to best clean a mask. I especially like the videos from "Divers Ready" or "Simply Scuba".NICHOLAS A : When I got mine I did clean the lens. I do this with all of my masks. I use a lighter to burn off the coating but of course do this at your own risk. You can also try some soft scrub and see if that does it.

It fits me!

One of 2 masks in the world that actually forms a seal on my face. A decade long has finally ended and I can finally retire my old high volume gargantuan mask to backup status. I have tried on every mask in the Western Hemisphere looking for one that fits. Of course YMV. Bonus points for it actually being attractive.

My new favorite - NO FOG and comfortable

This mask doesn?t hurt my forehead and STAYS CLEAR! It?s the best! I have tried 4 different masks and it?s my #1 choice. The UV coating is not as dramatic in real life as it is in the pictures online.

Beautiful comfortable mask

Super comfortable and flexible skirt. Took a few burn & toothpaste rounds to get rid of the film when new. No problems with fog now. Bonus, the strap doesn’t yank my hair out. Love the white color, it’s different than most other masks.
