Apeks WTX-D30 + Aluminum Backplate Package

The kit includes: Apeks WTX-D30 Wing, Aluminum Backplate, Deluxe Webbing Harness, Stainless-Steel Hardware Kit, 2 x Griplock Tank Bands and 2 x Book Screws.

The Apeks WTX and WTX-D Series is a selection of harnesses, buoyancy cells and accessories which offer unparalleled versatility due to the modular nature of the entire system. Each component can be configured into a highly technical rig for those trained to push the limits or scaled down to make a travel friendly set up suitable for any diver. Single cylinder wings, often referred to as donuts, are oval shaped air cells or bladders that are not permanently attached to a harness. While single cylinder wings have their origins in the realm of technical diving, they are becoming very popular in the recreational community. Not only are these single cylinder wings streamlined, but due to their shape being a continuous loop, they are very stable underwater. There is no dramatic shift of air from left to right.

Apeks single cylinder wings are a smart design that allows a cylinder to nest deep inside them. These wings mate up nicely to the rest of the Apeks WTX collection of high-quality harnesses, plates and accessories. They can be configured in multiple ways to match the type of diving that you do. As with the rest of the WTX collection, these single cylinder wings are built from the finest quality materials. They are designed by Apeks and built in their own factory. Wing comes with a K-style inflator equipped with brass buttons and a 3/8" threaded quick-disconnect hose. The corrugated inflator hose measures 16" (40.6cm) and is an oval-shaped low-profile design. A safety cable in the hose prevents hyper-extension while diving. Inflator is positioned on the off-center so as not to interfere with the regulator first stage.

For managing buoyancy trim the wing has a low-profile flat dump/overpressure relief valve positioned in front, lower-left side. High-efficiency drains to drain water quickly, central mesh panel + 2 grommet. Access zipper is located on front side to prevent abrasion from cylinders and tank bands. Exterior is made from 1000D Armor-Shield Cordura with the inner bladder manufactured from 22ml. (.022") thick black urethane. The zipper bladder access closure is a heavy duty YKK #10 plastic zip and slide. Donut has tank stabilizer bars for added cylinder stability. Wing comes in a 32 lbs (14.5kg) lift capacity.

The Apeks Deluxe Webbing Harness is a simple, yet strong, harness that can take the load of a fully rigged technical diver and can be easily customized with the hardware of your choice. Harness consists of a 12' x 2" (366cm x 2cm) webbing with center grommet, 2" (5cm) wide crotch strap, and 6 stainless 2" (5cm) D-rings. Also includes neoprene shoulder protectors, 2 elastic retaining loops on shoulders and one on crotch strap, heavy duty stainless waist buckle, and 6 stainless steel serrated retainers.

The backbone of any system this cleverly designed backplate can be used with the Apeks Deluxe One-Piece Webbed Harness. Backplate is made from 6061 anodized aluminum alloy and weighs 1.7 lbs (780g). Plate has 4 each upper and lower slots that accommodate nylon cylinder bands so a single cylinder can be strapped directly to the plate. Having a series of 4 slots provides lateral stability of the cylinder that traditional 2 slot plates cannot. 3 holes at the top of the plate offer a range of height adjustments for the buoyancy cells and the cylinders. In addition, a corresponding lower center slot allows for lower band bolts that are misaligned. Plates are equipped with a 2" (5cm) wide crotch strap slot. Upper and lower perimeter holes along either side and holes along the bottom allow for the mounting of accessories. Backplate offers an electro-plate finish and a laser-etched Apeks logo to enhance the look of the plate.

The Grip-Lock tank band assemblies are the easy and safe solution for securing a cylinder to a BC. With its (pat. Pend.) finger-saver feature and macro presets, it solves many of the common problems associated with metal cam buckles. Find out how easy it is to use Grip-Lock. The innovative stainless-steel cam buckle Finger-Saver feature makes the Grip-Lock safe by eliminating painful, pinched fingers. The macro-adjustment is set just once until you change to a cylinder with a different diameter. Three presets cover the various diameter cylinders in the field today. The micro-adjustment can be used for fine-tuning the fit after the band is on the cylinder. Hint: If you line up the inside edges of the hook and loop on the micro adjustment side of the tank band, it will be perfectly set for an aluminum 80 cylinder. Rubber traction pad on the backside of the Grip-Lock provides added security.

Book screws can be used to attach a wing to a back plate or to anchor an accessory to a back plate. Each kit comes with two complete sets of 3/8" mating book screws with friction O-rings. Screws are made from corrosion resistant stainless-steel.
