The purge valve purges with minimal effort and does a good job emptying out all water with the first blast. The dry top has worked good for my use which so far has been limited to use in state park springs here in FL. The tube is a good size and breathes easily. The mouthpiece is fairly soft and feels comfortable even after an hour or so of snorkeling. This comes with a quick connect clip which I like so I can easily separate it from my mask for storage and transporting. All in all, I would recommend this snorkel and would purchase another if I ever had the need to.

As a Caribbean med student, I go snorkeling/spearfishing and scuba quite often whenever I have the spare time. I bought the Escape snorkel because I lost my previous Eclipse, which is no longer made. The Escape is much easier to purge (efortless) and harder to flood than my prvious snorkel. I was skeptical about the "semi-dry" design, but it works great. The air flow is non-restrictive. The only bad thing for me is the provided clip that attaches to your mask strap. It pulls my hair. No biggie. I just used another style of attachment. Overall, it is a great snorkel. I couldn't ask anything more from it.

I got one of these because I didn't like the way the Scubapro Shotgun Snorkel fit... and it was a very poor product. It breathed wet ALL the time... the purge valve didn't work right, and when I surfaced after snorkeling, even after blowing the water out there was still water in the bottom that never made it past the little trap. Additionally, the airflow is restricted. Scubapro generally makes great products but they sure missed on this one.

I really liked this snorkel. Unfortunately during a fairly rough surge hanging on the line for a safety stop, the snorkel disappeared.... The clip doesn't close on the bottom and it slipped up over the strap on my mask. Too bad... I'll probably buy one with a different clip.

Good snorkel for the price, I didn't have purge issues like others did. But I don't use the snorkel that much when I'm in the water.

This is an average snorkel at best, however, it wears quickly. Specifically, the purge valve on mine failed numerous times turning it into an oversized straw.

This snorkel is works well. The overall design is contoured to the wearer's head. It does feel awkward at first, but the curve to the top of your head is designed to keep the water out at all cost. And if you're head is above the water (where it should be) then you'll have no problems with this snorkel.

The Escape snorkel keeps the sea, lake, or river water around you instead of inside your mouth. The Semi-Dry design keeps the water from splashing over the top of the snorkel, allowing you to breathe air instead of water. After returning to the surface from depth, simply exhale easily to clear the barrel and tube to clear the snorkel. By having the Purge Valve at the lowest point of the snorkel tube, gravity forces the water down and out the Valve, makes clearing the water and effortless task.
The Large Barrel permits more air than the Escape's counterparts simply because it is bigger than most snorkels available. The Curved Contoured Shape allows the Escape to hug your head instead of dipping into the water as you peer around below you during your time on the surface. The Escape Snorkel has a Lower Corrugated Tube which drops out of the way when switching from the snorkel to the regulator making it a great snorkel for Scuba Diving. The Anatomical Removable Mouthpiece fits comfortably in the mouth and can be used for hours of snorkeling fun. The Escape Snorkel comes with a Cell-Phone-Style Removable Clip. Snorkel is available in Black, Yellow or Clear colors and is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.
