Questions & Answers

Shopper : Would you recommend putting the patch on the inside or the outside of a wet suit for a small L-shaped tear on the knee? The tear is about 3/4 of an inch on each side.FRANK B : I used it on the outside and was pleased with the results. I followed the directions and used a warm iron, worked well. Never thought about putting it on the inside I guess it would depend on your wetsuiteTYLER N : I use one on the inside then a drop of aqua seal, then when it is dry one on the outside. The knee area has a lot of stress and repetitive motions.Bruce N : Mine was by the zipper. I would put it on both sides if the rip is all the way through.Alexander T : Should do the job. I fixed my Fourth Element Proteus 5mm Suite using the kit and it’s still working after 5 years!!JOHN S : Haven't used it yet. Got it for emergencies.
Shopper : can iron-on fabric patch be adhesively bonded without the iron, but with the aid of a neoprene cement?RONALD D : I would say it is best to follow the makers directions. I think that you could, but I wouldn't recommend it. Due to abrasive conditions where I work, I wear coveralls over my wet suit. I made knee pads and elbow pads by ironing on iron mend then covering liberally with aquaseal.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?ROD H : This guys YouTube video on mending cycling clothesWayne W : I sat on a sharp object on my boat and tore a small hole in my wetsuit. This matched the fabric exactly, was easy to use and made a patch that is almost not noticeable.

Very satisfied !

I once tried this on a spray skirt with only medium success. This time was on the neoprene outer collar on my dry suit. Worked like a charm! I turned up the heat on the iron a bit. It was easier with four hands to do the job. I did have to stretch the collar a bit because there was a crease in the fabric.

Iron Mend Works !

i have used this to mend a wetsuit, it adds strength and irons on easily. I used a few overlapping areas in the crotch of a wetsuit, it did well to hold it together. i have used wetsuit for about 20 dives without it peeling off.

Good for Lycra bike clothing

I got this product to fix cycling shorts. Works great even after a few washings. Took a couple of tries to get it right. Set iron to maximum recommended heat and use a lot of pressure.
