It does not keep all the water out of my ears but it does help.

Super! Cannot dive without it. Wife ruptured both ear drums and was limited to 13 feet until she started with this mask One way valve to ears needs to be kept clean since grains of sand could block itPatricia

As has always been the case Mario at Leisure Pro was very helpful in talking through the product details and then placing my order. The mask worked as described and I could not be happier with the product. Thanks again for the good service and having the mask available for quick shipping.

Looks exactly like online. I have not yet used it, but a friend tried it for me & ears stayed dry & it was easy to equalize he said!

These definetly help with equalization. You need to get them to fit exactly to not leak. But once you get them fitted they work amazing. Mine still fog up on occasion even with antifog. Haven't had an ear infection since wearing these.

As long as you can get them to seal around the ears they'd be hard not to recommend. Just didn't work for us.

I was a bit skeptical about this mask, but after recently doing a live aboard trip with 4-5 dives a day, this mask is a must have. Usually 5 or 6 days into a trip like that my ears get sore or that “full” feeling from lots of diving. Had no issues though for the entire trip wearing this mask and pro plugs underneath as well. Not only do you avoid getting the constant water flow in and out of your ears (including when you exhale through your reg) that can cause discomfort, but the ear pockets keep your ears warm. The mask does sit a little lower than a normal mask so it took a dive or two to get used to it, but once you get used it, it’s really phenomenal. The ear cups sealed well though not perfectly so you may get a little water in there at times but still very comfortable. I also tend to twist and turn my head a lot underwater as a photographer which has sometimes caused ear issues for me in the past, but I had no issues when diving with these. Highly recommend them.

Until I discovered this mask, I thought a punctured eardrum meant I would have to give up diving and snorkeling. The ear cups don't keep the ears completely dry, so I also need to wear a water-sealing earplug (by the way, the cheap silicone push-ins that look like a little Christmas tree out-perform all the other ones for water-sealing, including the custom-made ones for my ear canal), but the ear cups make sure the earplugs don't get knocked out, letting in volumes of pressurized water, which is a severely painful and dangerous situation. With this mask and the earplugs, I'm no longer fearful even in deep water.

Great mask and great fit; however, it did not assist at all in clearing ears on dive. It did keep ears dry but takes a lot of care and effort to clear mask without losing ear seal while under...

Have not tried it for diving yet as still have tube in my left ear but it does protect that ear when swimming or snorkeling. I had to put the snorkel on the right side because the snorkel does pull on the strap and that moves the ear cup allowing water to get in. When diving I don't wear the snorkel so it should be fine. Certainly better than not being able to swim at all. We will see about the diving..

I think that the ear cups really helped with equalization, allowing me to dive without worries. A tip from another user about gently exhaling through the nose to keep the mask nuetral was right on point.

Ears were dry each dive and no issues with the mask. One wish is that it came with panoramic windows , but that’s just my preference.

The major problem I have with this mask is the fact that the ear covers are centered on the head strap and the result is that the mask strap sits too low on the back of my head. For this to work well, the strap would have to have an offset to it which I have not figured out how to do . it's not really functional in its current form as it slips down around my neck. why the other reviewers don't have this problem I can only conclude they have fatter heads:)

I have two IST PRO EAR masks. Most comfortable mask I have tried. The other mask I own is a Tusa, nice mask, nice company tried every Tusa mask I could find but all were uncomfortable around the nose area. Every thing else I own is Tusa. Like the extra protection around the ears and seems to help a little with descent !!!!

I purchased this item because I've been afraid to go underwater since I was a little girl. I injured my eardrum and would get painful ear infections. I developed a sort of phobia over the years. I went on vacation and decided to try these out. I'm happy to say they work wonderfully. They seal very tightly. Highly recommended. I was able to swim underwater for the first time :)

I always had had troubles with my ears. Every liveaboard, on the third or fourth day of diving I found my ears severely inflamed. I've tried all possible ways to solve the problem: I covered my ears during surface intervals, I thoroughly cleansed them after each dive, I even refused to eat any milk containing food onboard—nothing helped. The doctor said the reason is my ear channels are too narrow, and I can do nothing about it. So, I've decided that my every liveaboard ache is a little sacrifice to Neptune. But once I've met a guy who wore this Pro Ear mask. He had a spare one, and he kindly proposed me to give it a try. It was a sheer miracle! No ache at all! The first thing I did when I came back from that trip—I ordered one, despite of its price. And I never regretted! No more ear ache on a long series of dives. Exceptional design. The only trouble with this mask is connected with a hood. Regular ones don't fit the Pro Ear. You have to either open your ears by cutting two big round holes in the existing hood, or buy a new one, designed specifically to fit this mask. It has a two-layer design, and is quite tricky to wear, I guess. As I'm used to dive in warm waters only, this issue doesn't trouble me at all, but it could be a problem to sort it out if you dive in a cold waters, wearing a dry suit with a dry hood.

I was very fortunate to hear about these! I had ear issues during a PADI Adv. Open Water certification. I was leaving for a 7 day dive trip already booked to the Maldives. This mask was outstanding! VERY comfortable fit with great sealing properties. Excellent optics. I would highly recommend if you have any ear issues !

I liked the concept of this mask and was excited to try it. The mask leaked constantly along the bottom edge, couldn't get a good seal. I tried everything to get it to seal, even shaved off my mustache.

I bought this mask with ear covers for my husband, who has perforated ear drums and has not been able to go under water for 45 years. He was like an excited 5 year old going under the water swimming for the first time. Cant wait for him to go snorkeling with me , and experience under water ocean life!!!

I was quite pleased with the original Proear mask which was manufactured by Oceanic Products. I paid $140 for the new mask after it was first introduced. It worked for decades. The new replacement model failed after 2 uses, The second replacement failed before I had a chance to use it. The weak spot is inside the mask where the tubing connects. The retaining grommet shears. It seems that the change of manufacture has affected the product.

After a perforated ear drum I could not dive due to water entering my ear, this mask keeps the water out and makes equalization a breeze !

BEST MASK FOR EQUALIZING PROBLEMS PERIOD
By JANGLE
I have always had problem equalizing, with this mask I have absolutely zero problems equalizing! I have been to an ENT, had a CT scan, everything, this mask is the ONLY reason I can dive. Forget the vented ear plugs, this mask works hands down!!! The fit is great, once you get used to having the ears "cupped" it takes ZERO effort to equalize. I will buy another as a back-up in the future, this is the best piece of gear I own hands down, THANK YOU PRO EAR!!! This is a must buy!!!!
Great product!

I had to give up diving several years ago because I had tubes put in my ears. I was thrilled to find out about this mask and the chance to dive again. I've read hundreds of reviews on this mask and 90% of reviews are very positive. I've tested it out in the bathtub (yes, I filled up the tub so I could lay back with my head submerged, lol) and it worked excellent, no water at all in the ear cups. I'll be testing it out in a pool soon, then fresh water diving no deeper than 25', if that goe...

For many divers, from beginners to the most experienced professionals, ear problems affect their ability to enjoy their sport more than any other health issue. More dives are aborted, and more diving holidays shortened due to ear problems than any other cause.
Water and pressure affect every diver's ears. Infection and discomfort to the ear are the most common health risks involved in diving, often causing permanent damage. Many divers find they must interrupt expensive, long awaited diving holidays because of ear problems. The financial loss and unfulfilled expectations are enormous.
Pro Ear is the world's only practical ear protector for divers, designed and developed by diving physicians, engineers and instructors at Safe Dive LTD to enhance diver safety and comfort. The Pro Ear unique design and performance, allows divers to keep their ears dry, thereby: Improving diver comfort and preventing painful ear problems, improving hearing and sense of direction underwater and simplifying equalization of pressures while diving.
The mask skirt is made from the best grade of crystal clear, hypoallergenic silicone. This double feathered edge skirt is soft and automatically conforms to a wide range of facial profiles. The wide split style strap is mounted on swivel buckles. The silicone strap with its large contact surface secures the mask to the wearer. The silicone rubber double feathered edge skirt and wide split style mask strap combine to create a perfect seal on the face. The soft silicone ear covers forms a water tight seal between the ear drum and the cover. The pressure buffer created has the same pressure as your nasal cavity mask when air exhaled through the nose is introduced through the equalization tubes. Therefore, the pressure experienced in your middle ear and outer ear is the same and the squeeze" from the ambient environment will be significantly reduced. Other benefits by keeping the ears sealed include reduced chance of an ear infection from water, improved sense of direction and warmth retention.
Dual tempered glass window design with large nose pocket for ease of equalization and low profile, low volume design, allows a wide field of vision. Equalization Tubes: With one-way valve placed inside each tube, air is-allowed-to-travel from the mask to the ear covers for pressure equalization and water clearance while stopping water from flooding the mask in the unlikely event of flooded ear covers. Mask is available with a clear silicone skirt with a black of blue frame. Mask comes with a user manual.
