Got a good price. It is overkill but at the time we thought he'd be doing wreck training and then diving. Good construction. A lot of light. Got a good price from Leisure Pro so couldn't resist.

Super bright. Good in poor viz. Battery life usually only lasts for one long shallow shore dive. I wish it ran off 4 18650 batteries instead of their battery packs which are basically 4 18650 batteries shrinked together.

This light is great. I use it for freediving and snorkeling in the sinks and springs of Florida. It is powerfully bright, and penetrates even in water darkened by tannins. I use it mounted on the included goodman glove, and it has substantial weight to it, though i have never found it to be uncomfortable. The battery lasts for about an hour of sustained use on the highest setting before the indicator changes from blue to green, at which point I can notice a decrease in the output. While i'm not a scuba diver, I can safely reach the entrance of some of the local caves; this light does an excellent job of illuminating a narrow area and cutting into the darkness therein. It assists me in my hobby of cleaning up junk and finding lost items, and the glove allows me the freedom to use both hands while doing so. There's nothing more I could ask for in a light.

Awesome light. Super bright with a decent spread (not too narrow). One thing is the paint starts to chip quick after purchase but it just looks like you’re diving it which is cool. Battery life is good and having the extra modes is super helpful when combined with the nice battery life indicator.

Its virtues exceed its flaws as a cave diving light, and probably for any type of diving application Pros bright at 4800 lumens, good for photos, level 2 is perfect for dives or lower power indicator gives useful life It draws 3.3A, 1.3, 0.6 and 0.4 for each power setting fast charger, 2A fill batteries in about 1'40" from empty battery pack is low cost, relative to similar lights and design can easily be made DIY if you are skillful at a later time no cord or glands to leak kit comes complete with all needed to dive Cons 'goodman' glove is very unstable for cave diving, you'll need to buy the aluminum handle, get the 'slim fit' as the standard size is too big light does not cut off for me even down to 10.8V on the pack, which is the lowest allowed to keep the Li cells healthy, when RED appears you should manually stop using the light The lumens are not sustained, it gradually drops as the batteries power drops so the power settings sets the max, not the min, if you downshift the power, power indicator may change up from RED to Yellow or Green, which means you are closer to its rated lumen output

I was lucky enough to find this light during a sale and what a score. It's incredibly bright, in fact, the 50% power setting (2,400 lumens) is usually more than enough and gives 4-hr run times. I discovered after using this light once that the battery was not recharging. I contacted Big Blue Dive Lights and they requested I sent the light, charger & battery back. They tested everything and found the charger was defective, replaced it and returned to me a few days later. Excellent customer support by this manufacturer too. I tested this light on full power in my pool and it burned for 2-1/2 hours before going into battery save mode. The light is a little bulky, but what do you expect for a self-contained 4,800 lumen light? I purchased the optional Goodman Handle so can't comment on the included Goodman glove or lantern handle, but with the Goodman handle, it's just like a canister light, without the canister. Highly recommended.
