Link S : Is this the same as the Zip Tech product that McNett made at one time?CHARLES S : It is comparable to canning wax in my opinion...if that helps. I have never used McNett's product.RAY T : I can't answer that question, but this is the best zipper wax I've ever tried. It is soft, so it goes on easy in any weather. Some of the other waxes I have used are too hard and crack off when applying it. The only problem with this wax is that it is too soft when it gets hot in your bag or on the boat. It's easy to apply, but then it's like using warm bubble gum. That said, again, it's my favorite.

No doubt it does its job. Lubricates and protects the zipper against corrosion. No oil residue after cleaning the zipper teeth.

Zipper Wax stick

Zipper Wax went straight to work on my suitcase zippers, which actually gave new life to these salt-water encrusted gears. Just smear it on lightly and I was able to easily zip upwards and backwards. Then we went to town, and used it on dive bags, old boot zips, and even lubricated some wooden spear gun shafts. This is definitely a handy addition for maintaining your gear. Take extra sticks along with you to remote locations to share with the locals who lack these types of supplies.
