There’s no better way for me to recharge than diving. Even in the cold waters of Switzerland, I find peace. Yet, I’m always drawn to the vibrant, colourful reefs when I travel. My adventures have taken me across the world, and along the way, I’ve discovered the value of having the right equipment for every dive. I know first-hand how quality gear can make each dive safer, smoother, and even more thrilling. I’m excited to share my insights and recommendations in this scuba diving gift guide, so that you can easily find the perfect gift for your dive buddy or treating yourself to a new essential!
You’ll find a range of ideas suited for divers of all levels, from safety essentials to gadgets that will make your underwater experiences unforgettable!
Double ended carabiner
They’re the mascara of scuba divers: the only thing you actually need every day, and you can never have too many of them. I love to clip everything, from my regulators to the gauge and the torch, keeping my gear streamlined and preventing damage.
Seeker mask
The best companion for every diver. I love the single lens, maximizing the field of vision while still keeping the volume relatively low. Thanks to its soft silicon skirt, it’s a mask that fits almost all face shapes, making it an ideal gift even if you don’t know the exact fit of the recipient.
Fourth Element’s tech fins
Yes, they’re heavy. But that’s exactly what makes them so effective! The weight and thick lateral rails of this Fourth Element piece allow for a more efficient back- and frog kick, and they are specifically designed to reduce fatigue by maximizing traction. And I’m not done: they’re made of natural and recycled materials, making this gift an excellent way to help protect our planet!
Divevolk housing
For anyone who loves to take pictures and videos, Divevolk is the perfect gift. It allows you to shoot directly with your phone, without needing any apps, expensive housings, or an underwater camera. I’ve been shooting most of my content directly with my phone and absolutely love how simple the process is.
OrcaTorch light
The small and portable design makes it the perfect backup light, essential when diving in caves, wrecks, and at night. However, even during the day, a torch can come in handy to take a sneak peek under a rock or simply restore colours in a picture. If your buddy doesn’t want to carry a big, heavy torch for a daylight dive, this little torch can easily be kept in a pocket or clipped to the BCD.
Colourful SMB
This safety sausage is the perfect gift for divers of every level. You can choose between different colours, and it can be easily folded to fit into pockets. With a closed lower part, there’s no risk of it accidentally deflating at the surface!
Don’t forget the spool!
If you gift an SMB to your buddy, don’t forget the spool. They’re always used together. You don’t want to spend your safety stop looking up like a kid who just lost their balloon.
Wetnote
A gadget that’s not essential for most dives but can make communication underwater much simpler! I even copied some tables and often-used calculations inside to make my dive planning easier. And if you tend to accumulate deco during your dives, don’t forget to draw some empty sudoku grids inside – you won’t regret having something to do when there’s no marine life around!
C-Monsta Hanger
Sure, you could keep leaving your gear out for days and still dive with wet feet, or you can get a hanger designed explicitly for scuba equipment and properly hang your stuff to dry! I have two of these hangers and love to use them also to compactly store my gear once it’s dry.
Fog-X antifog films
The only thing that worked with my stubborn X-Vision mask. I tried everything: shampoo, toothpaste, spit, and even chemical defoggers. One of my lenses kept fogging up until I discovered Fog-X films. They come in different sizes and shapes and are inserted inside the mask. The covered part doesn’t fog up anymore, no matter how cold the water is!
