As a filmmaker, photographer, and scuba diver, my career has taken me to some of the most unique dive locations. Last year I created a diving guide for some of my favorite underwater equipment, I want to expound on the list a bit more to show you some more products I use while traveling (I’ve also included a few of my must haves from my previous list) The items on this list I’ve found to be reliable, easy to carry and very useful. Keep in mind that some of these items are quite niche in their purposes.
SeaLife Moisture Muncher Silica Gel Drying Capsules, SL911
These are absolute lifesavers as a photographer. A common issue with underwater photography is getting moisture inside of your housing. When this happens, your port or dome will fog up and basically render your camera useless. I’ve tested out a few different ways to combat this issue, and I’ve found these moisture munchers to work the best! Just stick a few inside your housing when you finish shooting. You can even keep them in while you’re diving to be extra safe.

Cressi Clio Fin 2.5/3.5 Blue
Although nothing fancy, these fins are light and way easier to travel with than your standard free diver fins. They get the job done for casual free diving or scuba diving, and just give you that extra push! They easily fit into a suitcase or, if you strap your fins onto the outside of your carry-on backpack, most airlines will not give you a problem. I’ve been doing it for years!
O’Neill Thermo X Long Sleeve Rash Guard Medium
In many of my dive locations, there are delicate ecosystems that are worth being aware of before getting in the water. Because of this, I really try to avoid sunscreen as much as possible and stick to wearing a rash guard. Also, it’s just safer in general to wear one because it really does help with keeping you from getting burnt. I like rash guards, like O’Neill’s, because they are basic in color and don’t have crazy logos. This makes it a lot more aesthetically pleasing for photos.
Cressi 6.5′ (2m) Aluminum Pole Spear, 3 Piece
This one is also a bit niche but, if you enjoy the opportunity to catch some fresh fish while you’re traveling, I recommend this sling. It separates into three parts and can easily fit into your checked luggage without taking up too much space. Please keep in mind that you should check the legalities of fishing in your travel locations during your planning process.
McNett Sea Gold Anti-Fog Gel
This product works very well. Only, of course, if you didn’t forget to burn your new mask.
GoPro Hero 12
What kind of photographer/videographer would I be without recommending some sort of camera equipment for your dives? As you are probably familiar with the name, GoPro cameras are easily the best underwater camera for anyone trying to relive their experiences underwater.
Don’t worry if cameras confuse you. They are extremely easy to use, and their reliability makes them world famous. When I’m not specifically on assignment, you can likely find me diving for fun with one of these on me!

JBL delivers powerful performance with the Euro Woody Speargun 120 cm, built for serious spearfishing enthusiasts. You’ll hit targets with precision using the streamlined Euro design and durable African Mahogany speargun barrel. NeoSport 5/3mm Bibbed Hood
NeoSport keeps cold out with the 5/3mm Bibbed Neoprene Hood, perfect for cold-water diving. You’ll stay warm as the nylon-2 neoprene creates a tight seal under your wetsuit. The vented top releases trapped air to improve comfort and prevent ballooning. Divers like me choose this scuba diving hood for its glued and sewn seams and flexible fit.
JBL 6′ Aluminum 3 Piece Travel Polespear
JBL equips you for compact underwater hunting with the 6-foot aluminum travel polespear. You can break it down into three sections, making it ideal for travel and transport. Built from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, this spearfishing polespear handles rugged conditions. The gold anodized finish boosts underwater visibility, and the included paralyzer tip and carry case complete the setup.
Sharkskin Titanium 2 Men’s Chest Zip Full Suit
Sharkskin delivers unmatched warmth with the Titanium 2 Chest Zip Full Suit, designed for serious cold-water diving and snorkeling. You’ll stay warm with the 5mm Chillproof core and move freely in the flexible nylon/lycra shell. The chest zip allows me to have easy entry while maintaining a snug seal. The microfleece lining adds insulation, extending your dive time.
Blue Reef Spearfishing Mask, Fins & Snorkel Set
Blue Reef gives you the complete setup with this spearfishing snorkel set, ideal for freediving and snorkeling. The low-volume tempered glass mask delivers clear views and a comfortable fit. You can rely on the silicone skirt for a watertight seal, and the foldable snorkel packs easily for travel. Full-foot fins provide powerful thrust for efficient movement.
