Questions & Answers

JAMES H : I already own the double gauge consul.  Can I just buy the analog depth gauge?JOE S : you can just purchase the module to put in this console if you need to.
Shopper : Is the hose braided?ANTHONY W : No, it is not braided. Recognize however, that the braiding on hoses is simply a non-pressure retaining covering that is placed over the hose. I suppose that affords some protection of the hose; however, it also makes it difficult if not impossible to see any damage to the hose underneath, particularly things like the beginning of dry rot (small cracks, etc.). Personally, I prefer non-braided, for this reason.MARK L : When I bought this item in 2010 the hose was not braided, just a regular smooth High Pressure hose. Doubt it has changed.JAMES G H : I have two of these--separated by several years. No, the hose is not braided.ROBERT T : I bought mine 5 years ago, but the hose isn't braided. It is an HP hose with fairly decent pliability (bend radius isn't too big to be difficult to use while diving)
bob d : Question one, can I attach a suunto compass to this? Second, how long is this hose I need at least 4 to 6 inches to get it to where I need it how would I do that ?(myself)JULIANNE T : You can attach a compass to this, the hose that is included locates the gauge cluster at my chest.CONNIE F : This is the compass you can attach: Suunto SK7 Add-On Compass for Vyper, Gekko & Analog Consoles (back mount). I run this setup with 2 of my reg sets, and it's great. Yes, you will have plenty of hose length. This is a console attached to a normal-length. Without dashing into the garage to get an exact measurement, I'd say it's 20" to 24" worth of hose and console together.DRUE M : Yes to the compass attachment. Not sure about the hose question.
Shopper : Can I use this gauge with Nitrox?LeisurePro S : Yes, this gauge is fine for Nitrox to 40%.
Shopper : Will a Suunto Zoop fit in this gauge console?LeisurePro S : Yes, the Zoop can replace the depth gauge in this console.

My First and Last

My First dive gauge, I trained with this set during my open water training and found it so simple and easy to use. Illuminates in darker waters, with extremely accurate and easy to read numbers. I replaced the depth gauge with the Suunto Zoop computer, and added the SK7 end mount compass. only took a few minutes to easily install the additions. A great device to have that allows for adding several different computers of your choice, and different configurations to add back or end mount compass.

Fantastic Gauges

Great gauge set. I used them during my Open Water class and liked them so much that I bought a set for myself. If you own a Suunto Computer like the Zoop or the Vyper, you can replace the depth gauge with the computer! So if you upgrade your computer, you can place your old Suunto in your gauges and use it for a backup! Great feature!

Good Reliable backup system

Excellent back up gauge system. It has already been used as a backup for a friend and she had no problems using it for the first time.

Old Reliable

Very good to have as a back system. It came in handy this fall in St. Thomas when one of the other divers needed a gauge set up and the boat operator didn't have a spare. Saved us all a dive that day.
