Steel spring strap torture

The fins are not my issue, the spring straps are. I often dive on vacation multiple dives a day, multiple days in a typical week-long trip. After the first couple of dives my heels are screaming in pain and I end up with a limp when on land and pain in my heels during my dives. I've spend enough time looking for replacement straps, to no avail. I've looked all over the ScubaPro site for contact information and they do not seem to think it worth while.

Awsome Fins!

I love these fins although I have only used them in the pool up to this date when I took a refresher course but they worked great. They fit well with my 7mm booties. The springs are super strong and do their job well. I did have a little trouble getting the springs off because of how strong they are but it wasn't too bad. They might be a bit much for recreational diving but like I said they worked great for me. I was able to easily move through the water with good power. I can't wait to use them again this summer.

Not for long and skinny feet

Size fin: 2XL Size shoe: 12 There is no toe outlet, so even with the largest size, my toes still rub. The foot hole is WIIIDE, so there is lots of movement when thrusting. Makes it difficult to get the maximum power output from these fins, which is the whole point of this model. If there is an insert or If anybody has any suggestions on how to tighten up the sides, I'm all ears.

Good fins ??

My neighbor gave me his pair of Jet fins and some other old scuba equipment. Solid construction, good power, but swapping the old straps for spring straps was a pain

Great Working Fin

These fins were a hot item when I began diving in 1971. It took me over 50 years to finally pick up a pair and it truly was worth the wait. They are old-school but beautifully made, solid, stiff, and heavy - a real working fin. I would say dive boots with a firm sole are a must. Sizing seems fairly accurate. I'm a solid mens US 13 so typically UK 12 and EU 47. There is some variation on the site as to US sizing to EU but, for this fin, the 2XL fits my size 13 foot fine with a hard soled 5mm boot. Anything less than that would be, in my experience, too loose.

Reliable

I have been using Jet fins since 1993. The only reason I have replace the original was due to a lost bag at the airport.

Jet Fin

Took my Jet Fins to Oahu and dove the North Shore. They did great in the current above and below the surface. They also did a good job snorkeling at the tourist beaches.

Fantastic, stylish replacement for the old-school froggers I've had for the last 20 years. So far so great.

They will last forever, give great propulsion, and the spring strap is the best!

Sizing

These run incredibly small. I bought a medium, didn't fit, then a large, didn't fit, finally got an xl and works good. I wear size 8.5 sneakers. Definitely size up

A Little History

A little history. I own a pair of Beuchat Jet Fins from 1964. Scubapro bought the patent that same year. Mine have a little tear on one of the vents and look beat up from cave diving but could still be used. These are the original vented fins and there are none better today.

Great fin!

This fin is great for a diver who demands precision movements through the water. I would’ve given them 5 stars if there was a pull tab on the straps. They don’t come with the pull tab, which can make the straps cumbersome. I had to make my own pull tab.

the foot pocket is critical

i dive in vareous conditoons, under ice,in current like palau, australia ,lakes&rivers.they are negative so as to keep my feet down!!they are stiff but your legs will strengthen to them.the foot pocket size is critical to not getting blistors or toe squeeze with the spring straps i love them ..3500 LOGGED DIVES and still they are my best choice..P.S.they are life time guaranteed!!

Probably the Best Fins Ever Made

With over 47 years of scuba diving and 53 years of free diving I've worn a lot of different types of fins and these are my #1 choice. Someone said they are negative however they were originally designed to be the same density as salt water and I've never noticed them to be negative in the water. They will glide you through calm water by barely moving them downward due the the jet effect and will deliver the power you need going through surf or rescuing someone wearing crappy fins ;) The will also last for decades if rinsed and dried out of the sun. The pair I'm using now were made in the late 60s. I much prefer the "Lightning" Jet Fins that have a lightning bolt through the ScubaPro insignia. They are more flexible than the originals. And, as someone else pointed out, they fit in my carry-on!

Not maid in the USA

Fins are nice but are not maid in the USA as display on the website. I do not like to be deceived. As such I am only giving this three stars. Maid in Tiwan is not the same as maid in the USA. If leisure pro like to exchange my fins for maid in the USA I will give five stars. Thank you. Order under Vladimir on 3/2016

third set in forty years of diving

For serious free diving chasing fish, dragging around a dinghy drift diving and for pushing yourself around in scuba gear nothing in my experience beats these fins. Coupled with seasoft booties and the spring straps this makes for the perfect high performance setup. G

Scubapro jet fins

Ordered these first in size med, i could not fit my booties in them. Exchanged for size large which fit perfectly. I wear size 7 1/2 shoe . Love the pink! Got my husband white so I can find him underwater. Best of all, and the reason I chose these is they fit in our carryons....no bags to check!

Awesome old design with spring straps

I have always used this fun and have them in size XXL and XXXL this time I was buying for my 11 yr old son whose size is men's 8 withoceanic 3 mil booties. I was afraid it was too much for a young kicker but as it turned out he loves them and the weight was fine in the water nice feature is they now include spring strap instead if the old rubber design which I would have retrofitted anyway the white color was great for keeping an eye on him

Good tech fin

Good fin for back kicks, helicopter turns, precise positioning. The weight helps when trying to trim out a set of doubles. I think the Hollis F1s have a more comfortable foot pocket.

boot pocket is not good for rockboots

I own SP Twin Jet for years, very happy with the way the fit. Decided to order same size SP Jet to go tech. What a disappointment! Boot pocket is shaped completely different , no way to squeeze my rock boots in. Ended up returning the Jets, replaced with Hollis F1.

Best fins ever made

By Sex C.

These fins can't be beat. Had mine since 1969 and still using them. Got a small split in foot pocket just last week and still was able to do a timed 800 meter speed snorkel and a 100 meter tired diver tow for Divemaster. In 800 meter, I smoked 3 other younger guys with new hi-tech fins.Fins held up fine.I'm 53 now(got them in 8th grade) and will eventually maybe have to replace them. Spraying them with silicone when storing will make them last forever.

There is a reason.....

By WILLIAM R.

There is a reason that these fins have been in continuous production since the 60's! There is a reason that these are the prefered fins for the military, cave, wreck, and technical divers! That reason is that ScubaPro got them right the first time and then left them alone! I have been diving for forty years now and I have never used a better fin. This fins offers incredible power and control. You can easily do manuevers with them (helicopter, reverse sculling, etc.) that are difficult or impo...

Setting the standard back in 1965, yet still today the choice of many experienced divers the ultimate Jet Fins made from high-quality rubber. The Jet Fin was original and still is the most popular fins for commercial and military use because of its very powerful propulsion. The Jet Fin is the choice of diving professionals. This classic old school" designed fin allows you to join the ranks of the professional divers with the Scubapro Jet Fins. These fins are used by instructors and dive masters around the world who demands power and durability in a vented fin. Classic design gives excellent propulsion and comfort when fining. Fins provide exceptional speed with minimal effort.

The vented blade design allows water to flow-through the vents on the weaker down-stroke of fining, reducing pressure and providing less strain on the leg. When fining in the up-stroke, due to the angle of the vent, the fin reacts as a solid blade for maximum power and propulsion.

Jet Fins come equipped with strong and durable spring fin straps with plastic and metal buckles for bulletproof reliability. Do you find yourself frustrated while trying to adjust your fin Straps while floating in the water or while wearing bulky diving gloves? Have you ever discovered that your fin strap was too tight or too loose too late? The spring heel straps offer ditching/donning ease and dive long comfort. You'll never battle fin straps again. These corrosion resistant straps have a comfortable cover and steel springs that are depth compensating so they will contract when you go to depth and your boots compress with the increase of water pressure. They will also re-expand upon ascent. The Jet Fins are available in multiple sizes and is black in color.
