The Mares Magellan BCD is a true travel BCD w/new strap system for increased comfort! Extremely lightweight w/size SM/MD weighing only 5 lbs. (2 kg) yet delivers 41 lbs. (18.5 kg) of lift. High quality, compressible & durable material is used on the shoulders, back, & weight pocket areas for greater comfort. The simple & easy to operate integrated weight system uses simple release buckles. Included weight pockets vary in size depending on size of the BCD. XL includes 13 lbs. (6 kg) capacity pockets & 9 lbs. (4 kg) for M/L & XS/S. Inside hook & loop section the pocket in case you don't use full capacity. Weight pockets are made of durable polyester 600 & ABS plastic material for long life. Weight pockets have zippered closure for positive weight retention. Trim weight pockets can be placed on the back tank-fastening strap (optional), for better weight distribution.
A large folding & self-draining pocket positioned on the right side of the cummerbund. Aluminum D-Rings - Two 1.6" (40mm) below weight pockets, & two 1" (25mm) on shoulder straps. Torso, chest & waist straps, all Adjustable & equipped w/squeeze-style side release buckles for easy donning/doffing. Concave ergonomic shoulders increased comfort in chest/shoulder area & provides trouble free comfort for female divers. Ultimately allowing for maximum comfort & freedom of movement.
BCD comes w/3 pull-dump/overpressure relief valves, 1 on top of the Ergo Inflator; 1 located on right shoulder & 3rd is located on rear lower right. Activation of valves are made easy w/upper & lower valves w/pull cords & valve in Ergo Inflator is activated by an internal cable attached to the inflator mechanism. Includes 3/8" threaded LP QD hose. BCD is made from durable 420 Cordura nylon. BCD has a foldable non-ridged backpack for compact transport & strap loop backpack feature for easy adjustment.
The simple Dual 2'nd stage is a lightweight high air flow & easy-to-use w/oversized purge button. It's 1'st stage the 15X, includes pre-oriented ports, ACT valve which guarantees reliability, safety & DFC system for great performance! Compact, reliable, & performance are the key words for describing this Mares 1'st stage. The DFC system meets all divers' demands at any depth. The valve guarantees longevity & advanced performance. The sandblasted finish chrome plated marine brass 1'st stage is a balanced diaphragm design which is inherently environmentally sealed. The Dual 15X uses A.C.T. Advanced Coating Technology. Created to optimize performance, safety & reliability. The valve is covered w/hard Polyurethane (PU) & sealing surface is a layered w/soft PU for perfect seal. Tri-material (brass, soft PU & heavy-duty PU) reaches new levels of durability. The valve is 600% more durable than its predecessor. 1'st stage has a dynamic flow control (DFC) that minimizes intermediate pressure drop during inhalation. The 15X first stage guarantees a stable flow of air, even under extreme conditions. The 1'st stage is equipped w/4 LP ports w/3/8" thread & 2 HP 7/16" thread ports.
The Mares Dual 2'nd Stage is made of techno-polymer features an oversized silicone purge button so the purge button is easy to push. All Mares 2'nd stages are a reliable downstream valve design & offer a Vortex Assisted Design (VAD) system. The air bypass tube conveys air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex w/low-pressure area in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for sensitive & easy breathing at all depths. The compact & ergonomic exhaust tee ensures superior hydrodynamic performance & reduced exhalation resistance. The mouthpiece is made of soft hypoallergenic silicone: limiting jaw fatigue & offering a secure fit even after long dives. Mares Superflex hose far surpassed the tests required by EN250. Hose is extremely lightweight & exceptionally soft, providing maximum freedom of movement & further reducing jaw fatigue. The regulator hose is a 3/8" thread high flow hose & is 31.5" (80cm) long. The regulators total weight is 38.3 oz. (1,085 g) w/hose.
Created from the experience of the Mares Laboratories, directly as a dedicated Octopus. The MV Octopus is a lightweight, minimum dimensioned, & its compact shape, makes the MV easy to dive with. The special symmetrical shape means the octopus is equally easy to use on the right or left, for increased safety. The MV Octopus 2'nd stage like the primary has Vortex Assist Design (V.A.D.) System. The MV Octopus case is made from sturdy & durable techno-polymer & is resistance to abrasion. The MV Octopus is a reliable, & simple downstream demand valve design. Octopus comes w/a 3/8" threaded yellow 39.4" (100cm) hose, & weighs 6.17 oz. (175 g).
Mares Mission Puck 2 Console consists of the Puck computer & easy to read pressure gauge w/chrome plated brass body. The shock resistant elastomeric techno polymer console boot has been designed w/optimized angles & shape for maximum ergonomics. The loop hook, on side & frontal eyelets, allows flexible attachment to gear. The Mission Puck 3 Computer uses Mares-Wienke RGBM (Reduced Gradient Bubbles Model) algorithm. The RGBM considers the phenomenon of micro-bubbles to prevent their formation. The most evolved algorithm for reducing formation of micro-bubbles w/o compromising dive times.
The easy excess push buttons allow divers to operate the computer in all conditions, even when wearing thick gloves. Navigating thru-computer programs is extremely simple & very intuitive. There are 3-modes of Air, Nitrox & Bottom Time. The Mission Puck 2 has a maximum depth display of 492' (150m), memory capacity of 36-hr., runs on user replaceable 3 Volt CR2450 lithium battery, power indicator, back lighting for low light conditions, has a plan mode display, can be used in both imperial or metric units, fresh or seawater settings, residual nitrogen reset, option to exclude audible alarms & uncontrolled ascents, has ascent rate indicator & is altitude adjustable. The Puck also has a watch, date & temperature functions. The Puck has an optional USB interface for logging dives on your PC.
The Puck knows that not all of us who dive are young & in peak condition, it address this w/precautionary program settings that allow individual adjustment to conservative dive profiles. Easy-to-read wide computer display, w/intense backlighting & high contrast & illuminated, oversized digits. Attention is paid to maximize the viewing angle, to eliminate angular distortion & to always give the best readability.
The Submersible Pressure Gauge has a 0 to 5,000 psi readout w/a safety reserve 500 psi color coded in red for low on-air awareness. The 7/16" UNF neoprene jacket double braided HP hose has a 360½ swivel & is 36" (90cm) long. Pressure gauge has a florescent dial for easy reading in day or night diving situations. Face of pressure gauge is color coded for safe air reserve in a glance.
