Questions & Answers

Shopper : there is a belt loop in the back ???MICHAEL J : Yes - they work greatJUNE H : Yes, you can install it on the belt or webbing. JULIA O : Yes, there is a belt loopRON P : Yes. It's made for the standard 2" wide heavy duty webbing. BTW, I've used these pockets for nonditchable weights on my tank straps as well as on a standard weight belt.
Shopper : It has been suggested that a simple 2 lb ( varies based on person/bcd etc) trim weight on the back of tank will avoid the face down push of a back inflation bcd. Has anyone else had experience using the pocket to do this?ROBERT M : I purchased 2 of these to add pockets for non-releaseable weights on my non-integrated BC. They were large enough for the 4lb weights I used(a 2lb weight would flop around) and they worked fine for about 5 dives. However one started to shred at the side seam and I had to discard it before it broke and lost the weight. I'm not sure that I would purchase one of these again.BERNARD R : If your BCD pushes you forward enough that it's noticable, 2 lbs on the back of your tank probably won't help. I recommend you look for another BCD; I did just that when I had a similar problem. Being pushed forward by your BCD can be dangerous, especially when you surface in choppy water and you're out of, or low on air. It happened to me and I can only recommend a flotation device that solves the problem. I do like having weight on my back, but a BCD with rear weight pockets or a weight belt loaded to the rear is a better way to go. Experiment with different combinations in calm water. Good luck and happy diving.DAVID M B : You will always play with weight pocket locations for trim. On my system, Once the correct location was found, it is worth its value. Very durable product, ez to useLEONARDO D : I use this, because I don"t like to carry all the weight on my hip.It 's beter for my backDAVID B : I haven't tried it myself but it 's worth s try.MARK E : I suggest 2 pockets with 2# each. I tried one pocket but it makes it hard to adjust the strap. With 2 you have good balance and easy access to the strap.
Shopper : what is the size of this pocket?LEE S : I found that a 5 lb. soft weight barely fit in it, and was so tight that it made a hard ball on my belt. Also, I lost one on a dive because the pocket came open. I don't recommend them.ALAN D : 4" X 4"....why doesn't leisure pro provide this information to you? If I can measure the item why can't leisure pro?JAMES W : It will easily hold a (5) lb hard or soft weight, BUT, I DO NOT RECOMMEND getting this pocket at the current time. I have (4) of them and have found that the velcro flap is not strong enough to hold the weight in the pocket if a diver is horizontal or inverted. I'm working with XS Scuba on replacing the pockets that I have and they have just sent me two of their pockets with the weight ditching tabs on them for evaluation and the velcro is MUCH stronger on them. The pockets are just the right size for trim weights but I'd advise against this particular product right now until they have made the design change to put a better velcro on the flaps.STERLING L : The pocket is 4" square when the velcro flap is closed. After the pouch is mounted on a tank strap, if you need to insert the strap through the mounting openings of a wing, the pouch's bottom folds up inside the pouch, reducing the dimensions to 4x3" so it can tuck neatly through the opening. The pouch neatly holds a 2# hard or soft weight (but I've squeezed a 3# soft weight in). I place two pouches on the upper tank band and use them for 4# total of trim weight. To install the pouches or to remove them, you have to take off the tank band.MICHAEL R : I used 2 pockets with 4lb. weights to balance / trim my KISS Rebreather. The 4 lb. weight fits loosely in the 4" square pocket. It would probably hold a little more since the sides and top can be pushed out a little larger...WAYNE M : The pocket is just big enough to fit a 4 lb. weight.
Shopper : Is this for one or a set of twoLeisurePro S : Just the one pocket.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?THOMAS M : Used them before, needed to replace the ones I have.VALERIE G : friend really liked these and the price was rightLUIS C : Good pricesRICHARD M : Price and simplicityDonald R : Purchased to hold trim weights on tank band. Will be used with Zeagle Covert back inflate BC.WALTER R : Easy to change weights on vacation.Mark O : This is a great price for these. I am adding this to my tank straps to adjust my overall weight for different situations. Having a little weight on the tank helps if you drop a weight belt so you won't fly to the surface like a rocket.GEORGE S : I purchased these to help trim out with my sediment rig and to add some weight for drysuit diving.WILLIAM E : I purchased these single weight pockets to use to place trim weights on aluminum cylinders to be used for sidemount diving.CARL S : I needed to add weight pockets on the back of my BC. These were ideal.KEITH W : I use this on my rubber weight belt. I can reposition the pouches quickly to adjust to the dive gear configuration. They hold up to four pounds of hard/soft weights and are very tough.PAUL O : Needed back weights to get good trim.JOHN O : I wanted to borrow a back plate/wing set up from a buddy and maybe get out of the typical BC set up. I needed these to try and get as streamlined as I could get.KEITH A : Best Fit for a custom weight belt.DAVID B : Used to augment weight bearing aspects of BC.DAVID B : Used to augment weight bearing aspects of BC.MIKE P : helps with the weight and getting underwater, plus its not around the waistDAVID S : I use these for weight pockets on the belt of my BPW setup and secure them with zip ties to stop them from slidingMICHAEL R : Good pocket to use to add trim weights

XS Scuba weight pockets

I bought these weight pockets to add to my cam bands, to fine tune my trim. I haven't used them yet, but I have been using one of the XS Scuba weight belts with 3 of these pockets on each side, for about 10 years, and all I can say is, they are fantastic. I never had a problem with the velcro not holding any weight I put in the pockets. They are easy to ditch the weight and they lay flat when not using them. I also bought another XS Scuba weight belt with 2 of these pockets on each side to use for travel, the 3 pocket on each side belt was kind of bulky for travel.

Small but does the job

Perfect for 1, 2 or 3 pounders but 4 is just a little to big for this pouch. They seem to be made well and I like them but they could be a tiny bit bigger

Weight Pocket Solves My Trim Problem

I was too top-heavy with my newly purchased 72 steel doubles so I secured an XS Scuba Single Weight Pocket to the bottom of one of the tanks with 2 stainless steel hose clamps and added a 4 lb weight to lower my feet, Worked great! Sure was a better option than adding ankle weights.

Tank Weight

If you dive back-plate or wing, and don't already have trim pockets, you should consider adding 2-4lb to the top tank strap. When floating vertical, the ballast will help counter balance the integrated weights so your face is not in the water. When swimming horizontal, keep your head down, and help you the up/down motion like a porpoise.

Too Small - Not Secure

I bought two of these to use with 5 lb. soft weights. I had been using a double pocket style on each side of my belt but since I wasn't using both pockets, I decided to change to a single pocket style. These pockets are small. I could barely fit a 5 lb. soft weight in them, and the tight fit caused them to be like a hard ball on my belt. Also, one fell out during a dive, causing a big problem since I'm in a drysuit. Fortunately, another diver on the trip found it. I don't recommend these pockets for anything bigger than a 3 lb. soft weight.

Pockets are made well and tough.

Great pockets. The backing is very stiff and tight on normal webbing so the pockets are good at staying in place. It does make install a small pain, but it is a minor trade-off for a pocket that won't rotate on the webbing. One thing to note is that the base of the pockets is fairly long so it can be tricky to get 2 of these onto the same cam band. For this reason I prefer pockets like the ones from DGX for the cam bands and these XS pockets for everything else

Great Weight pockets

I am making up a travel wing for warm water diving. This is the second wing I have used these pockets on. I have never had a problem or lost a weight in over ten years of using these. I will not hesitate to buy more if I need them in the future.

This pocket works great with no chance of losing your weight. I have no idea where the other reviewers were diving to force open the pocket

Great price for a sturdy pocket

I dont usually dive with a weight belt because i dive tropical in skins. I usually only need 3 or 4 lbs to get down when im using an aluminum 80 tank. These pockets fit easily on my cam bands so i can dive belt free. I bought 4 of these over the last few months to put on my cold water and warm water cam bands.

good for moving weight off belt

I use these with my aluminum backplate since airlines reduced baggage allowances. They help distribute weight onto my back to help keep me horizontal in the water. Been using them for about 5 years averaging 2 trips per year. Velcro still good and they can handle 2 kilos of lead. I use one on each band on opposite sides next to my backplate.

Great Trim Pockets

Added to my BCD as trim pockets. Description read holds 5 lbs. but it's definitely stuffed when adding the full 5 lbs. Overall constructed well and would purchase again.

Good Pouches

I am a big man who requires quite a bit of weight to attain neutral buoyancy, especially when wearing a wetsuit. I have my weight belt rigged perfectly at home, but when flying to a dive destination issues can come up. Often the belts on the boat are not long enough to string the necessary weight on it when you use the odd 3's,4's, and the occasional 5 pounder you find in the weight box. These pouches take up less room on the belt than stringing weights directly onto it, and they allow adding some weight to the tank mounting strap to adjust trim. They close securely, but be sure to use at least one keeper on the belt to prevent weights sliding off.

Great little product

I have 2 of these little pockets on the top cam band of both of my harnesses. I have heavy feet, which could be attributed to my old style Scubapro Jet Fins, so, rather than replace my beloved fins, I use these pockets to shift anywhere between 4 and 8 lbs (2 & 4 per pocket) from weight belt to higher up my torso and this trims me out nicely. For the price, you just can't go wrong with these.

Great weight pouch

Works great for dead weight on tank. could only fit one on my BC so I used an old weight strap and made a collar to go around tank between BC strap and Regulator.
