I believe some require the insertion of the cap or other small object which must be used to deflate and thus require fumbling in the water and the use of two hands (i.e. the newer Blue Reefs)?Monica s : The snorkel vest that we carry you do not need to insert anything in order to operate. It could benefit from "d" rings for attachments and/or a pocket. I wore a rash guard to prevent chafing. The valve worked perfectly. I also liked the visability in the water to others and boats.
