Terrible

I have bought 2 of there last year each one has broken underwater not to be found??? The module popped of both times, I could have bought 10 compasses for the price of 2

Massive case, decent capsule

Essentially a clear plastic floating-card capsule clamped into an anodized brass mounting ring that is shackled with a SS bolt snap. The mounting ring and snap are well done and a bit massive: will change your weighting calculations. The Capsule is good quality and easily read; typical of better quality units from Suunto and others. Lubber line ring is not captive; it can pop off in the inevitable rough handling that BCDs get. When it happened to mine, the ring snapped back into place and showed no apparent damage. Maybe just a matter of time before it gets lost. So, price has to be attributed to mounting hardware. Not an unusually high-quality capsule, and loss of orienting ring is a distinct possibility.

About Highland by XS Scuba Snap Compass

The Highland by XS Scuba Snap Compass is Designed-and-Built for the Rigors of Commercial Diving. The Snap Compass has an Integrated Stainless Steel attachment Shackle Bolt Snap for Securing the Compass Module to your Gear. The Compass is fitted in a Solid Brass CNC Machined Housing with Black Chrome Finish. The Compass has a Highly Accurate Movement with an Allowable Tilt of Up-To 30° degrees. The Compass can be used for Top or Side Reading with the Side Reading providing Gun-Sight Accuracy when Navigating.

This Italian made Instrument is calibrated for the Northern Hemisphere. The Compass is Liquid Filled for a Quick-and-Responsive Movement. A Ratchet Bezel with Compass Headings in Numerical 30 Degree Increments and 5 Degrees Indicator Increments, Bezel has Twin Heading Indicators for Alignment of Compass Course and a Lubber Line across the Compass Face. Compass Card is Luminescent for Low Light Conditions. Highland by XS Scuba Snap Compass is covered by a 24 month limited warranty.
