Questions & Answers

Shopper : How do you recommend using the seals most effectively on the arms and legs? Do you put them over the glove and then zipper the neoprene over that? My old suits don't have these.WILLIAM C : The most effective way to use the latex seals is like in a Drysuit. Roll up the Neoprene, put on your gloves or boots over the latex and then roll back the neoprene over your gloves or boots. The overlapping layers will prevent any water exchange. So Latex against the skin, then glove or boot, then neoprene over the glove or boot. Water may still collect in your gloves or boots, but won'tt exchange water within the suit because of the latex seal. If you are using a hood, put the hood bib under the suit so the bib of the hood doesn't roll up.Yuniel D : I put my boots and gloves over the seals for optimal comfort. It all depends how comfortable you feel. Putting the seal over the boots and gloves works as well, but if you have thick legs or arms it might be a little tight if you put them over the boots or gloves.LARRY C : I have found that the best seal with the Waterproof suits are obtained by folding the end of the seal under itself by about an inch. Now you have a double layer at the end of the seal (should be smooth on the outside), this creates a very effective seal against the skin. Your glove/boot is then fit on top of the seal, then zipper the neoprene sleeve/leg over that. I work in these suits 3-5 days/wk. Great suits.YAN G : The inner seal is designed to stay against your skin. Then the glove (or boot) goes over that, and the neoprene outer cover is zipped over the glove. That makes the best seal.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?AMY G : zippers at ankle wrist due to shoulder injury hard to pull on clothingrichard P : It has zipper cuffs and I have hand issues that make it difficult to get wet suits on and off

Great wetsuit. Recommended

Great design and quality. Plenty of sizing options to find the right one for everyone. The only disputable cons: It's a little bit sturdy as neoprene is not super-stretch + pocket gimmick is totally useless.

Great quality and materials

Good fit and excellent materials. I like the wrist and ankle zips. The smooth guide material makes it easy to put on and it seals well and keeps me warm. I own 3.5mm as well. Probably the only downside is the W30 pocket. The two sides Velcro isn’t that secure and the zippers on the pockets are terrible. That is an add on to the suit so doesn’t impact my rating of the suit itself.

Waterproof wetsuits

I have bought 2 Waterproof suits and both are excellent - easy to get in/out - with good fit for off the shelf orders.

Great fitting suit. I'll have it wet in May for the first but I've worn Waterproof before.

Aquaman Suit

This is the best fitting Wetsuit I have ever bought, at the list price it is a great deal. The entire suit is designed to be the best fitting "Skin Tight" suit on the market. With the added latex seals around the wrists and ankles it practically could be called a "Semi-Dry Suit". Zippers at the ankles allow you to put the boots on overlapping the latex ankle seal, then the wetsuit over top of the outer boot. Same with the wrist seals, zippers on the wrists allow you to put the gloves on over the latex seal then the wetsuit over top of the glove. The best part is the large pocket on the right leg. The pocket zips open for massive storage, just like the Dry Suit pockets. The pocket has a large screened in bottom to let the water exchange or drain as you get on the boat. The whole suit makes you feel like a Super Hero...hence my reference to Aquaman. Store your flashlight, great place for your Safety Sausage. Knee Pads, Elbow Pads are very hard plastic, but if I were an Instructor on my knees all the time I would wear a pair of regular knee pads to protect the suit! With all the individual panels stitched together it really fits tight. I also bought the Waterproof G1 5mm form fitting gloves, also very tight fitting with molded bent fingers for better fit. The 6.5mm Boots have a Titanium sole, so walking on the beach or pavement won't ruin the boot. Furthermore, I have the Waterproof 7mm hood from my D1 Dry-suit, that if I were to put on under the neck opening of the wetsuit there would be NO WATER EXCHANGE. I love this suit!

Great Wetsuit

I used this wetsuit to dive in the Bahamas early March to do 90Ft and 45Ft dives. First off, let me say it looks great and as with most Waterproof products it is high quality. It is a little stiff, but that is because it is well-made 5mm wetsuit. The knee and elbow pads provided adequate protection against rocks and brushing off wrecks while taking pictures. After my dive even the dive master mentioned he was a little cold during the dive while I felt perfectly warm during the entire dive. So simply put, this is a great wetsuit.

Very bad quality of the neoprene...

Gently rolled into a roll for transportation in a suitcase. The flight took 6 hours. On the suit appeared folds that do not pass. Wetsuit hung a two or three an hours on a single hook with a jacket. On the suit etched traces of zipper, which do not pass. The ends of the thread is not tied up and bloom. Such poor quality of neoprene and tailoring have not seen even in the most cheapest wetsuits!!! The price is three times more expensive. Advertising on the site of waterproof lies.

good quality, size larger than I thought

Overall it's a well made wetsuit with many details designed, representing it's quality. However...It's much longer than the size chart when it comes to arm and legs. The extra pieces on arm and back of the knees are a bit stiff. Ordered one according to measure and online chat's suggestion and it was too long, has to take it on as there wasnt enough time to get it replaced...guess I will have to find another one...

Very little flushing, well made

This isn't a typical modern "stretchy" wetsuit - it's quite stiff and reminds me of old suits from the 1990s. It's built similar to a semi-dry (it's not a semi-dry - just in case you were wondering about "relief" in it). The size chart is spot on, and it tends to favor people with longer limbs. Pros: It does not flush much at all and keeps the water warm. The corrugated elbows and knees are comfortable and give a nice range of motion, but tend to trap a little too much water in them. The wrist and ankle seals work well, but they need to be folded under so the slick side is against your skin. Zippers and small parts are all high quality. The lining is plush and comfortable, but isn't as nice as the orange hex material these used to come with. Cons: There's a little less stretch than I'd like across the shoulders, but it's acceptable. It's also a bit more buoyant than I was expecting, and the 5mm took six pounds of lead to sink it in a freshwater pool. The appearance is a bit "fancy" for my tastes.

Ok, just a bit stiff

I am an Instructor so I dive every single day so my comments are from someone that gives heavy use to the scuba equip. The wetsuit has good construction but it´s a bit stiff for a 5mm compared to my previous 5mm (Pinnacle Tempo) which was very elastic and comfortable from day 1. I have only used the W4 for about 2 weeks (about 20 dives). It reminds me a lot of and old 9mm I used to have in terms of stiffness. Also it is a bit more buoyant than the Pinnacle. With AL tanks I need 6 lbs compared to zero with the Pinnacle. The ankle and wrist seals are great and the suit in general conserves warmth pretty well. The heavy duty knee pads are great for teaching because I have to kneel a lot. Waterproofs sizes are a bit bigger than for other brands. I have always used M but had to go with an S. Just follow the size chart, it is pretty accurate. One thing I didn´t like is the thigh pocket. I bought one but the secure velcro system is not very reliable. The strips of velcro are pretty narrow so with just an SMB with a spool it came off a couple of times during the dives.

great quality

I am pretty much reviewing 3.5 mm. My wife got her 7mm and loves it. She also has a Waterproof 5mm and 3.5 mm and loves all of them. I have a 3.5mm and love it. The 5mm bought recently did not fit well but Leisure pro reimbursed me easily and with no issues. Best thing of purchase was Leisure Pro. Amazing customer service.
