DAN V : I'm stuck between sizes with a 22.5 head and 16.5 inch neck. Do you round up or down?SCOTT S : I would pick the larger size. They are so warm, as long as it seals around your face and you tuck in the bottom to your wetsuit or warm neck collar on the drysuit it will be very warm.DARYLE P : I would round up. These hoods are tight and will be impossible to put on if to small.

Coldest water I've had it in was 35F.YAN G : This is a wetsuit hood.BRECK W : I've worn it with both. The difference though is that with my wetsuit I would tuck the collar inside but with the dry suit it would be outside. The neck seal on the drysuit is against your skin. Your results may vary depending on the drysuit.

Waterproof 5/7 hood great hood over all, very well made!

Pros: warm hood, overall good fitting hood, like the smaller bib compared to larger bibs on other hoods that bunch up under wetsuit. Cons: I wish that the neck size on the xxl was on the xl hood, always seems like beck size is a little tight especially in larger hoods, so you get hood that fits with tight neck or hood that's a little big with neck that fits. The xxl needs about another inch in circumference in my opinion.

Once it is wet and stretches some more...it is great!

The neck is supposed to be 19 inches...I know it says case by case basis measurements may be different...but I do not believe it is 19 inches...but whatever it is it is much better than the 16 1/2 neck on the previous hood I had...with my 19 1/2 neck!

Well made hood

This Waterproof hood is the best fitting, most comfortable hood I have ever worn. It has a good stretch to it so it goes on easy, snug but not restrictive, easy on the jaw, and warm (45*F). The quality of the materials are top-notch and I can see that this will last many, many seasons. I will buy Waterproof again without question.

Best fit

I use this for search and recovery, recreational and commercial diving in Lake Superior. Tried others but pulled on my chin to hard. This one fits like it was custom tailored to me, but best of all I dive in 32.4 degree waters regularly. I go under ice and down to around 70 feet, and this has never made my head feel cold. Was doing work which required constant in and out of the water at 36 degrees water temp, I accidentally rolled up the forehead and got an instant brain freeze upon jumping in again. Made me realize how well this works, i dont even notice the cold with this on.

Great hood, very warm, good sizing

I bought this product based on recommendation from a friend diver. I tried at a shop first and it felt super comfortable. I tried the L size, and it felt a bit tight, I tried the XL and it was too big. I ordered the L, and at first thought it was tight, but in the water it was super comfortable (47F). I did not feel cold at the head at all (can't say the same about feet or hands).

Wonderful product, love the HAVS

Great hood, best I've owned. Once it's on, it's a very comfortable fit and very warm. It is a little tight when pulling it back off, but it is a good trade off for how it performs in the water when it is on. I love it!

Great hood for cold water dives

Great hood. I have a half a dozen dives on this so far in everything from a flooded quarry at 39 deg F to the Northeast Atlantic at 44 deg F. It feels far warmer than my last 7mm hood and also fits better tucking into my drysuit without bunching up at the top.

great quailty and great fix

Used it the first time 12/18/11 in SC with 64 degree air temp and 52 degree water temp and couldn't be toastier. I switched to this hood from a 5/7mm zip drysuit hood and the mobility is greatly improved over a thick zipper up the back of my neck
