Pretty basic second stage. It is not recommended for cold water like the Great Lakes and I do not like the hard plastic exhaust ports. I?m afraid they might crack or break Ice long yellow hose.

This medium-sized octopus made of techno-polymer features a cover made of soft material so that the oversized purge button is easy to push. With a VAD system and Fluid Dynamic Deflector it offers natural, effortless breathing. The VAD - Vortex Assisted Design air bypass tube delivers air to the mouthpiece creating a swirling vortex with a low-pressure area in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation, for very sensitive and easy breathing at all depths. Fluid Dynamic Deflector receives and properly directs the airflow from the bypass tube to the mouthpiece. Mesh grid a patented design which reduces the impact of water flow onto the second stage diaphragm, thus eliminating free flows even in strong currents.
The regulator second stage octopus with its ultralight techno-polymer construction is abrasion resistant and affordable, ideal for diving in warm and moderate water temperatures. The bright yellow purge cover design makes for easy identification in an emergency out-of-air-situation. The Rover Octopus includes a hose protector and comes standard with a 39" (100cm) yellow rubber hose that further aids in the safe-seconds identification. Regulator weighs 13.6 oz. (385 g) with the hose. Regulator is Nitrox ready up to 40% oxygen out-of-the-box.
