Questions & Answers

Nikolas C : Can a backplate be installed on this BC?darrick c : Hello Nikolas, no you would not be able to add a backplate to this set-up.
Shopper : Is this a jacket style BC?Mario C : It is an awesome light weight back inflation BCD ( wings) not a jacket style,,,ROBERT H : No, back inflation only. Very nice minimalist BCD.David B : It’s a wing BCjonathan b : No, back-inflate. Notice the "U" shaped bladder. There is no bladder on the cumberbundKEVIN W : No, it's a back inflateADOLFO D : Yes
Shopper : HOW DO YOU DETERMINE SIZING?JOE S : This is the sizing chart section from the zeagle.com website for the Covert XT. The Covert does not use the Personal Fit System Vest Measure Waist SizeShoulder Measure Shoulder to Waist XS24"-42"XS17"-20" SM30"-45"SM20"-23" MD35"-50"MD22"-25" LG37"-52"LG23"-26" XL44"-56"XL23"-27"
Bruce F : How is the sizing in it? I'm 5'10" 32 inch waist and 38 inch chest. I thought the small looked like the best fit. My old Sherwood Magnum was too big at a Small/Medium.JOE S : I'm 5'9" with a 34" waist and 40 inch chest. I'm a medium. Small would be borderline if you are using a lighter wetsuit and maybe too small if you are using a thick wetsuit or drysuit. Medium may be the best fit for you. Justin E : Hey, I recently bought this BC and I LOVE IT. As far as sizing goes I’m 5’7 165 and a 32” waist (don’t know my chest size). But I initially went with a Med and it was too big. I’d get a good snug fit above water (tightening the waist strap all the way) but once I got in the water it would loosen up. So I changed out for a small and it fits like a glove! It’s not restricting or encumbering at all, very much feels like a part of you. Good luck with whatever you decide !jonathan b : I am 5'8" 195lbs. 44inch chest. I have a large and it fits perfect. A small would be too small, especially if you use wetsuits. I would go for a medium or large. If you are taller i would error toward large. If you have a small waste a medium may be more appropriate so you can adequately tighten the cumberbund. I have a 36 inch waist, when i tighten the cumberbund to fit, there is still a few inches on both sides someone with a smaller waist could tighten more.WILLIAM W : Hello. I am 5’11” and 215. I tried a large and it was to small so went with an XL. It’s a little loose but works well. Hope that answers your question.
Robert L : Does anyone know the inherent buoyancy of this BCD?JOE S : Same. This BC holds very little buoyancy itself. 2lbs when the bladder is completely empty.

Not too shabby

Great bc. Trim pouches make it a little hard to get tank strap fully seated.

Tank straps

I’ve had problems with the tank straps slipping off. Even with alum 80s it has issues.

Good travel rec bcd

Solid lightweight, travel bcd. Nothing complicated & the molle system is useful for adapting it to your needs. Replace the tank bands with apeks grip-lock bands.

Great well built BCD

This is by far the best BCD I have owned. It is built for heavy use and has very sturdy construction. This will last a long time.

Okay BC

Traded in my Zeagle Stiletto BC (it was to small) for this model. Overall it is okay, but it does not seem to be able to fit securely and it is not the most efficient at maintaining proper buoyancy. Not nearly as comfortable as the Stiletto model.

Great LowProfile BCD

I wanted a good, low-frills BCD as I'm not a big bells and whistles fan. For me, this satiated that void between a BP/W and a full-blown BCD. I like the MOLLE panels to add my own attachments. The only addition I've made is a couple SS D-rings along the bottom since it is a bit lacking in D-rings beyond teh ones at the ends of the straps.

Good BC and perfect for travel

Used this BC in 24 dives in the past 30 days. I like the size of the BC, I added 2 SS clips to add places to hook my gear on. The Mole system is a nice addition. The only thing I had issues was that the BC would ride up no matter how tight I had the belly straps when inverted.

Great BCD!!!

Love the versatility it provides. Since the BCD has Molle straps you can mount just about anything you want to it. Your imagination is the limit. It’s back inflate design makes keeping a trim underwater almost thoughtless. Love it.

Comfortable fit, lightweight

Fits well, very comfortable . Size chart accurate for my size. Plenty of options for add-ons.

Functionality, convenience and comfort are blended into the Covert XTf Zeagle's new feature-heavy BCD that provides travel divers with a more rugged and versatile system. Covert XT boasts a new MOLLE system with accessory attachment points, a redesigned front vest, 1000 Denier nylon, durable elastic material at the bladder to prevent excess bulk, padded shoulders and lumbar, large weight pockets, and a redesigned weight release system that's lightweight and packable for travel at 5 lbs (2.27kg) with inflator. New MOLLE system: MOLLE is an acronym for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment. It is used to define the current generation of load-bearing equipment and backpacks used by several NATO armed forces, especially the British Army and the United States Army.MOLLE is designed around a new vest that features high tensile 1000 Denier-strength nylon and is lightweight and extremely durable. The cummerbund is padded for protection and will remain cinched with all your accessory gear attached. MOLLE webbing is constructed with reinforced stitching to accommodate all your favorite accessories.

Streamlined profile design:Updated elastic material on the bladder prevents excess bulk and results in a more streamline profile, allowing divers to use less energy and stay down longer. There is an added tank positioning strap, rubber row webbing helping secure tank with increased webbing width, additional padding using open cell foam on shoulder and lumbar, accessory trim pockets, knife mounting points on both sides and 4 plastic D-rings for accessory attachment.

The back-inflation BCD weight release system has a 16 lbs (7.5kg) weight capacity and a 10 lbs (4.54kg) non-releasable rear trim weight capacity. The BCD provides 34 lbs to 42 lbs (15.4 kg to 19kg) of lift depending on size. Adjustable waist, shoulder torso adjustment and adjustable sternum straps all equipped with squeeze-style side-release buckles for easy donning, doffing and a custom fit.

With this durable design, you also get Zeagle's time proven and rugged Bx Power Inflator System. No more struggling trying to get fresh water in through the inflator mouth piece! Now you can really rinse out the bladder of your BC. Simply unscrew the Bx Coupler, screw on a standard garden hose, turn the water on and super rinse and clean the inner bladder. The Bx inflator comes with a 3/8" threaded quick-disconnect low pressure hose.Trimming buoyancy is made easy with the rear right and left overpressure relief/pull dump valves. BCD is available in multiple sizes and comes with an owner's manual.
