Questions & Answers

Arzhang B : Im a new diver that has only dove with donuts. Has anyone had any air entrapment issues with the Zeagle horseshoe wing? And, does the exhaust option of the inflator hose quickly and effortlessly release the air?JOE S : The horseshoe typically isn't an issue on Zeagle BC's. There are pull dumps on both sides at the bottom of the bladder to make it easy to manage. You will also quickly get used to the way the air moves and it will become fairly easy for you to manage the air distribution. Yes, the pull dump and exhausts work very well and dump air quickly if positioned properly.
David W : I’m 6,2” and 280lbs. My chest is 54” and my waist is 50”. Would the 2XL fit me? I do not see sizes listed for the 2XL.darrick c : Hello David, going by your measurements yes, the 2XL would work for your sizing.
Shopper : Like others, I have a question about sizing. I'm 5' 11", 220 pounds, 38" waist and a 42"-44" chest. By weight it appears I'm an XL but by other measures I am a large.....thoughts?JOE S : You may be a size large by waist size and XL by height. It is measured by Torso length. Top of shoulder to Top of Hip. Large is 22"-26" and XL is 26"-29". If you cannot make one of the sizes work, then you could order a Stiletto shoulder section in XL to accommodate your height since it's modular. There are no exchanges or credits for individual sections, so you may want to try the large and see if it fits prior to purchasing the extra shoulder section. For ordering the Stiletto Shoulder Section is P/N 7168S - Specify Size. Retail pricing is $99.95. There is also a custom BC program from Zeagle, that would install the shoulder section for you. Unless you are looking to customize color, that is a more expensive route, to get to the same result.
ADAM B : I am 6’1” 33” waist, and 185lbs. What size is recommended?Mario C : you are most likely either M or L.. it could be that L would accommodate the extr4a torso length without siting too high.. one thing to keep for peace of mind on the link below: https://www.scuba.com/g/pressure-free-fit
MATTHEW H : For sizing I'm 6'2", 220 lbs, chest 45, waist 38 and shoulder to waist is 22. What's the best size for me?KIRK W : We are pretty close to the same build and I like my large. I let out the waist, easily done, and it is comfortable. It is shorter than others I have used which took a bit getting used to, but now I love it. The pockets sit back quite far, which makes them less functional, but I don’t carry much with me so I am fine with that.JOE S : by those measurements the size chart would say the you are a large. Please double check your measurements and take a look at the sizing chart yourself to confirm this. It's difficult to call someone's size without actually seeing them.SANDRA T : I'm sorry I can't answer the question. I buy these for the EOD Divers and I purchase per their request. Sorry. Sandee

Get one!!

New open water cert. This is my first BCD. Recommended by a friend. So far I have used it for 4 dives and absolutely love it. I like the back inflate but still have the secure feeling of the velcro cumberbund. Very versatile and has various sizing adjustments for years of use. Folds and rolls up tightly for travel. Definitley would purchase again if I was in the market.

I do love my Zeagle Stiletto

I do love my Zeagle Stiletto. Since I live in the dessert, I need something that I can easily pack for travel and this one does the trick. I will say that the pockets are not functional during a dive...they are too far back. That is the only thing that keeps this from getting 5 stars.

You won’t be disappointed

Rugged and lightweight. Fairly easy to travel with. Great for cold water warm water. Really comfortable. It will hold up for a long time with a lot of abuse. Pockets are always a great addition.

Good bcd but not perfect

I like that it is comfortable underwater, easy to carry around and to clean. I don’t like the weight pockets, I dive in remote areas and we are taken to the dive sites in small boats and we usually give the boat captain before getting back to the boat the weight pockets first and them we climb to the boat. I found out that in order to do that I have to reach the weight pockets, open the zipper and reach to the weight bags and give it to the guy. It’s really difficult I need two hands to do that. For my dive buddies that have the surelock is way easier. Overall is a good bcd but it does not have the best weight release mechanism.

I love this BCD

Light weight, rugged, I love not having to fill weight pockets and trying to secure them into the BCD. I think it’s an ingenious weight system. I did buy the little yellow weight pockets and never used them, waist of money.

Great BC

This is by far one of the best purchases I’ve made. I debated for over a month of several BCs and I’m so happy I went with this one. The comfort and features of this BC are amazing. I was worried about it not not having a support brace for the tank, since I have back issues, but I must say this is as good as I could expect. I’ve experienced zero back pain and I love the light weight of it.

An excellent BC. Spend the money because it's the last BC you'll buy.

This is the most comfortable BC. Packs easily too. Could use more D-rings, but not that big of a deal. I dive light so extra crap to carry is not that big of an issue. An excellent BC.

Great overall experience

The BCD has been the best purchase for me. I like the fact that there is little wasted space on it. It has just enough space and D rings for my computer, Octo, and knife. I use the trim pockets for extra weight. I would purchase another BCD from Leisure Pro any day.

Stiletto BCD - Freedom of Movement!

Best BCD rig that I own. It's my traveling rig, since it's so light. Do I wish it had more padding? Yeah. It's still very comfortable. you don't have the compressed midriff feeling that jacket BCD's offer. Lots more freedom to move, twist, swim, underwater. All materials are top-notch. The waist compartments are easy to reach, as are all the snaps and pull cords.

Great BCD, streamlined and well made. I don;t like the Stiletto tag on the inflator hose retainer. Looks Stupid and sounds stupid.

Great BC!

We have always had Rangers, but this one is just as good (except for a few less D rings). Little lighter as well, much more packable.

Freedom!

When the power inflator connector on my Sherwood Avid broke resulting in what would have been a very expensive repair, I decided it was time to look for a new BCD. I spoke to one of the reps and decided on the Stiletto. The fit is fantastic, and the construction is solid. I just returned from an extended dive trip to Mexico. On the first dive I placed my weights 70/30 front/back. With this BCD, that is completely wrong. On the second dive, it all went in the front pockets. Nirvanna. I could move freely, power inflator was super responsive for micro adjustments. My trim was the best it's ever been, This is the one for me!

Zeagle Review

Love the freedom the BC gives me to catch spiny crawfish (Florida lobster). Easy to clean, easy to take weighs in/out, sturdy, and made in USA. The only thing I wish is that it had a longer inflator hose so I could raise it high over my head. The best thing was the great price Leisure Pro gave me on the item! Also great folks to do business with, thanks!

Lovin' it !

I'll preface this by saying that I've used a jacket style BC my whole life, so I was a little apprehensive about making the switch to a back inflate style. I've made eight dives with the Stiletto now, and wondering why I didn't make the switch a long time ago. My dives have varied between 20' and 110' and the trim and stability have been exceptional. At the surface, I tended to float upright or slightly on my back, but definitely did not push my face into the water as other back inflate BC's can do. I did get the additional Zeagle weight holders (yellow mesh things) and saddle (split) crotch strap, both of which work great. The dual tank bands are very secure, and the outside/gear pockets are large enough for a backup light and foldable snorkel. It actually takes a bit of getting used to - not having the abdomen squeeze when you fully inflate the BC. Lastly, being able to rinse the inside of the BC by hooking up a garden hose is a nice little feature after the dive.

Zeagle Stileto

Excellent multipurpose BCD! Perfect size for travellling. A lot of freedom of movements.Very easy to maintain and store All in all a 5 star EXCEPT! DO NOT pull on the red weight release handle unless you need to! Learned the hard way! I switched from the TUSA pull pockects, and to my disappointment, found out I had to rework the entire cable back in place! Both sides! Oh well... lesson learned... Extremely happy with it.

Zeagle Stiletto + Zeagle 2nd Air/BCD inflate + Atomic Aquatics M1 Reg

I bought 1 of each for both my wife and myself for Christmas, and everything arrived by Christmas eve. Leisure Pro (LP) also gave me a MIL discount (6%), when I signed up for ID.me on their website. Very smooth transaction, informative e-mail updates, and very friendly and helpful staff when I called to check on the orders and request my MIL discount that didn't initially take for a couple of the orders - I was credited without any problem once they reviewed my orders and verified my MIL status. I give LP a 5 STAR Rating. CON: You would think that the front integrated weight pouches would come with a new Zeagle BCD! You'll have to spend about another $34 for 2 (1 for each front pocket), plus shipping. The rear weight pouches come attached! Otherwise I'd have given a 5 star rating. PROS: Everything fit well (I used the Zeagle sizing chart) and worked flawlessly in the pool. The Stiletto is very streamlined, and no squeeze like a vest BC. Now just waiting to get wet with them in the GOM next Spring.

Great value

This BCD is extremely comfortable. Neutral buoyancy is easy to obtain and maintain in this unit. The trim weight pockets, when used, allows the diver to easily remain upright whether on the surface or neutrally in the water column. Light enough to pack.

Rides up Constantly--Not Happy!

I've had a very unpleasant experience with this product. First dive trip w/Stiletto: After having been assured by the dive shop that it fit well, I found out later that it was too small for my torso--constantly riding up on me. Second, the D-rings all started rusting after the very first dive. Finally, the shoulder straps started frying at the edges. So, after this first dive trip, I contacted Zeagle to find out what to do. They said to send it back to them (I live overseas so it cost me 60 dollars to ship it--no reimbursement for that cost). Zeagle sent the replacement adding a larger shoulder unit. Second dive trip with the BCD: Rings didn't rust--good. Still some fraying--bad. BCD still keeps riding up constantly. Very disappointed with this BCD--have a hard time believing all the positive reviews.

Good enough for an instructor!

I have been a NAUI instructor since 2002 and used zeagle bc's in the past, had a ranger ltd. heavy tech rig. I wanted something that would be easier for travel yet as durable. Found it in the stiletto, what a great BC zeagle did it again. I'd recommend this for the beginner all the way to t he instructor. I especially like the personal adjustments zeagle allows. I'd never own another brand of bc!

Nice, compact & well made travel BC

took it on a live-aboard off Belize last week and enjoyed using it. It took me awhile to become as proficient about my buoyancy as with my regular BCD. While using the deflator, the bladders tended to fill with water unexpectedly. I suspect this may be simply due to the fact that I haven't dove in several months and was unaccustomed to this product.

Stiletto and Tall Skinny People

I did a lot of research on BCs and decided to buy the Stiletto because of its mudular design. I am 6'8" and 215 pounds. I purchased the large originally from LeisurePro (my back measurement came in at exactly the break-off point between the large and extra-large should module on the Zeagle website). The large waist/chest module was perfect for me, but the shoulder module was too short. I contacted Zeagle and they recommended I move up to the XL shoulder. I contacted LeisurePro customer service about getting only a shoulder module, but nobody ever responded. At Zeagle's recommendation I purchased a new XL shoulder module from another dealer for $65. After combining the large waist and XL shoulder, I went diving with it for the first time last weekend (warm water in the Carribean). It was amazing. My buoyancy improved significantly, whereas before I always felt unstable with the rental gear because it never fit right. The BC feels sturdy and well-made and I did not have any problems feeling like I was going to be pushed forward on my face at the surface. I am very pleased with the BC and would whole-heatedly recommend it, especially for people who are not "average" size.

One heck of a solid / dependable BC

I am coming back to write this review after 53 dives in 6 weeks in this BC (with mostly rocky shore dives and only about 6 boat dives). The dives included weaving in and out of tight passages, getting tossed around on rocks by waves while entering/exiting water, hauling a heavy camera rig, etc. This BC delivers! Judging by the lack of wear, I can imagine this BC lasting hundreds of more dives without breaking a sweat. This BC is comfortable relatively light given its solid hardware. However, my only complaint is that there are no pockets to store anything. The pockets are directly over the weight pockets, and with only a 2kg weight block per side I already feel there isn't much room left for the accessory pockets. I end up just putting a pair of scissors and a pair of thin gloves. Overall, I am very satisfied with this BC and Zeagle in general. It may not have all the fancy features, but if you want a BC that can last a long time and does what it supposed to do very well, this is it. I also purchased the Zeagle Wicked Lite for travels and had around 20 dives in it. It's also a rock solid travel BC.

Great BCD!!!

I have used the Zeagle Stiletto for a couple of years now. I liked it so much that I bought one for my son who just got his OW certification. Durable, well built. Love the ripcord weight system (don't worry - you can remove weight without pulling the ripcord). Added the Zeagel SMB which tucks up under the flap next to the wing very nicely.

outstanding BCD

I just tried out the bcd this morning in the waters of Cozumel and it was great. My previous bcd had a wrap around air cell. When I got to the surface it squeezed me to the point that I couldnt breath properly. The Zeagle eliminated that problem. I put 10 lbs. in the front pockets; 5 lbs on each side. I put 4 lbs in the rear pockets; 2 lbs on each side. This weight arrangement kept me straight up on the surface. BCD did not take much air to inflate and keep me on surface. Another plus is that the bcd is light. its not a superlight weight like the Zuma but better that your standard bcd. Its a little expensive but worth the money. Made in the USA.

The Zeagle Stiletto is a rugged, full featured but light weight BC designed for the diver who may do both warm and temperate water diving and don't need the twin tank capability or higher lift of Zeagle's heavy-duty BC's. The Stiletto's extra durable reinforced 1000-denier nylon fabric with an internal urethane laminate and all seams are radio frequency (RF) welded for long life gives an extra level of protection against abrasion or punctures in close environments like the edge of a coral reef or wreck. With this durable design, you also get Zeagle's time proven durable and rugged Bx Power Inflator System. No more struggling trying to get fresh water in through the inflator mouth piece! Now you can really rinse out the bladder of your BC. Simply unscrew the Bx Coupler, screw on a standard garden hose, turn the water on and super rinse and clean the inner bladder. The Bx inflator comes with a 3/8" threaded quick-disconnect low pressure hose.

The Zeagle Stiletto has sufficient lift and weight capacity for most average sized divers to use in their local environments, yet packs easily into a lightweight travel system. The BCD's back inflator bladder supplies a lift capacity of 35 lbs (15.9kg). BCD includes the Ripcord Weight System that has 24 lbs (10.9kg) of releasable weight capacity and an additional 16 lbs (7.26kg) rear non-releasable trim pockets capacity. Attachment of accessories is made easy with the five-stainless steel D-rings, three on the vest and two more on the shoulders. BCD has two zippered utility pockets for added storage of accessory items.

The Stiletto has a dual position adjustable sternum strap, torso adjustable shoulder straps, and waist strap with adjustable elastic cummerbund all equipped with "squeeze-style" side-release buckles for quick and easy donning and doffing. Trimming buoyancy is made easy with the cable activated shoulder dump valve and rear lower overpressure relief/dump valve. The Stiletto is ideal for the diver who wants a lightweight but rugged system, for both travel and local diving that doesn't compromise on features. The Stiletto weighs 7.4 lbs (3.36kg) and is made in the USA.
