Great tank. Heavy out of the water. DIN works great when jumping into the water from heights.

Faber LP85 Cylinders

These cylinders are awesome! The buoyancy characteristics are fantastic. They arrived much faster than I expected and I was completely satisfied with my purchase. Wish they came in white, but that's not enough of an issue to complain about. Highly recommended.

Monster Air Tank!!

This tank is a monster - heavy but holds a ton of air. My gills are not quite as developed as others so I've enjoyed having the extra air to improve my bottom time.

Watch out

Not all steel tanks are negative at the end of the dive... the LP108 is positive and so are many of the other LP tanks... do your research first and don't assume.... the blue steel website has all the data... it speaks for itself. Most of the HP tanks are, however negative throughout.

Faber steel tanks

By taking the time to weight yourself out using the steel tank you can achieve a neutral buoyancy that you can´t with an aluminum tank that is inherently 4 lbs buoyant. Low pressure steel tanks do not beat your high pressure stage up when using a compressor like the 3500 psi tanks do. Being an old school diver with 57 years experience..I don´t use a BC (I consider them dangerous , I can dive in summer with out a weight belt, and be perfectly neutral from 200 feet to about 20 feet, which means I don´t end up standing on my head upside down while completing any decompression. DIVE ONE AND YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK TO AN ALUMINUM TANK !

Blue Steel Faber Low Pressure Steel Tank

Steel tanks allow you to use less weights. I don't need to use high pressure tanks, so these work just fine..

Blue Steel Faber Low Pressure Steel Tank

Steel tanks allow you to use less weights. I don't need to use high pressure tanks, so these work just fine..

If you are not using steel cylinders, try to use one and you will soon realize what you have been missing. Faber can offer you the most comprehensive range of cylinders for scuba diving. Every year Faber produce and sell around the world 100.000 cylinders for scuba diving (out of 600.000 in totals). No other manufacturer in the world can match their capabilities and the breadth of their range. Faber Tanks and valves are nitrox ready.

Cylinders come equipped with a DIN/K type valve that easily converts back and forth depending on the type of first stage regulator to be used in conjunction with the cylinder increasing the versatility of the tank. Steel cylinders are heavier than the same capacity aluminum cylinder. This characteristic has many advantages. The heavier construction allows the diver to remove lead weight from their weight belt or integrated weight system of the BCD, allowing the diver to better distribute weight by moving it to the rear of the BCD a great advantage when wearing a back-inflation style (Wing) BCD.

Aluminum cylinders, as we breathe the weight of air from them, create positive buoyancy at or near the end of a dive. The steel cylinder with its negative buoyancy throughout the dive allows you to shed the excess lead that is required to keep you properly trimmed while you dive an aluminum cylinder. Faber LP cylinders have a round bottom and come equipped with a cylinder boot.

The Faber cylinders are 2640 psi (182 bar) working pressure cylinders with a 10% overfill rating, negatively buoyant from -2.43 lbs. to -4.87 lbs. (-1.1 kg to 2.2kg) when full and are positively buoyant from 1.24 lbs. to 4.07 lbs. (563 g to 1.85kg) when empty. Cylinders are made from triple protected zinc sprayed and epoxy and polyurethane painted deep drawn chromium molybdenum steel. All cylinders come equipped with a tank boot. When shipped the tanks valves will be removed and the tank will require re-inspection before being filled.
Note:
All Faber cylinders meet certificated specifications of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) with DOT-3AA specification and Transport Canada Safety and Security (TC) with TC-3AAM specifications.Steel Cylinder Hydro Dates
Blue Steel The Distributor of Faber tanks makes every effort to ship the newest possible hydro date on all cylinders. However, due to high manufacturing quantities on various models, fluctuating sales volumes due to market conditions, hydro inventory will very. Cylinders shipped within 16 months of Manufacture date are considered "current hydro"
