This review is for the SS (Hydralloy) version. It's a good knife, and I've taken it on a couple of dives so far. I was expecting this to be smaller and less hefty, but that's okay. Pros: Fits nice in my hand despite small handle (flat portion on bottom of handle is 1-5/8"). Multiple mounting options. Bluntish tip. Scallops on edge of blade are about 3/8" between points, and won't be too difficult to resharpen. Low price (I got mine on sale). Cons: Blade is sharpened all the way to the end of the blade, so it isn't a true blunt tip knife (you can always grind the edge down, but you shouldn't have to on a knife that is marketed as a blunt tip). The sheath is attached to its mount (belt or hose) via 4 screws. They are initially tight, but I'm afraid that with use the plastic screw holes will inevitably strip out. UK should have molded in SS threaded inserts for the screws to screw into in order to avoid potential wear issues. So now I carry threadlock and a mini screwdriver in my dive kit, just for this knife... Ultimately this is a rescue tool and should be available in a higher visibility color combo than yellow/black. It would be nice if the entire handle was at least a high vis color; it would be great if the sheath and belt/hose mounts were high vis too. All in all, it is a good knife and I would recommend it, however be aware of what this knife is and what it isn't.

So good this is my second, as my wife stoke the first for herself. Perfect size and comfortable to hold, it is extremely sharp and seems to be the perfect compact knife. Maybe a bit mild for storming Dr. No’s lair, but unless you are MI6 or a Navy SEAL it will get the job done. Be careful if you attach it to your BC hose, as drawing it quickly could accidentally slice right through it. Don’t ask why I know that...

Good knife, very secure when not in use and several options for carrying it.

I am forever losing scuba knives - the sheaths always fail. I had this knife for 4 years, before I forgot that it was on my reg hose when I was getting on an airplane. Leisure Pro has the best price around.

Excellent dive knife in a holster that's adaptable to position your knife almost anywhere you want it. I tried several knives before finding this one. Small enough to wear on the waist strap of my Backplate/wing harness webbing. Big enough for a full-hand grip to but line, rope, webbing... Anything that isn't metal. Blade holds a good edge. Beveled end reduces risk of scratching myself. The sheath/holster has a solid pressure fit that prevents loss but allows deployment when you need it. With regular fresh water cleaning it does not rust.

I had bought this knife several years ago, and recently bought another for my wife. It is small and fastened unobtrusively on the front of my BC, so that it is easily accessible. The holder keeps it securely in place. After several years of diving, it remains sharp and shows no sign of rust. Very useful for the occasional need to cut a line, etc.

I have used numerous knives over a twenty five year diving career, and havent found one better than this one. Small, sharp and sturdy, the knife can be easily used with one hand, but stays where its put when not in use. I highly recomended it for all types of diving.

I have used these for years. I keep them coated with a film of silicon grease and they remain nearly rust-free thru days of liveaboard diving. (Rinsed only at the end of the trip.) I use my knife to pry up a button on my cheap camera housing -- often, several times/dive. I noticed that the catch on the sheath becomes somewhat worn or looser with constant use. On our last dive trip (12.5 days of liveaboard diving), I lost knives from the sheath 3 times, two without recovery. (I stole my wife's knife and lost it too.) I believe all three times were when the dingy driver hauled my rig up onto the Zodiak. (I have not had the knives just fall out.) I have the knife mounted on my computer console (pressure gage) hose, which is clipped near my body. I'd recommend it if you mount it elsewhere or don't have to have your BC/gear hauled up onto a dingy every dive!

I needed a small knife to attach to my BC. I use scubapro knighthawk and I attach this to the deflator hose on my BC with some zip ties. I only do this because I use the air2 for my BC and this is a great spot for me to have it. You won't have to worry about losing your knife and it is perfect in size and durable.

This knife is an excellent value. The hose mount makes it easy to attach the knife to your low pressure inflator thus making it quite easy to locate when you need to use it.

Has come in handy many times and it's always where I expect it to be...attached to my inflator/deflator hose.

I use this knife tech diving in New England. I like the fact that you can secure it on a hose and that it doesn't take up much space.

The most convenient knife I have owned. the low pressure inflator hose attachement means I never forget it, its always out of the way, and easy to access when needed. The only disadvantage to this is you have to remember remove it if you perfer to carry your regs on the plane instead of checking them. I have one that is 4 years old, never a spot of rust and it is still sharp. I wish they made one with a partial strait edge.

This is the perfect sized knife for mounting on a BCD. I was able to mount this on the cummerbund of my Ranger so that it is readily accessible but still remains discreet. I'm a believer in Murphy's Law so I also have a larger knife that I will strap to the inside of my calf - it's all about redundancy when you're under the surface!

I really don't know if I really need a knife underwater...never used one before. I guess it is better to have one than not. When I learned how to dive a long time ago, there were two types of knives. One would be a big hunk of metal. It was more a hammer than a knife. Not really sharp but would not really rust either. The other knife would be sharp but would rust easily so required a lot of maintenance. I have had both types. I like the UK Remora because it is compact, seems to be sharp enough, and does not require a lot of maintenance. The handle seems to be small even with my small hands but then so is the blade. I mounted it using one of my hoses and it is out of the way but available. If everything was bigger, it would probably not be mounted that same way.

Bought it for my adult daughter. Not a "macho" knife, but functional and fits well with a ladies grip. Does what a dive knife should.

The non-corroding Remora Hydralloy BC Knife is the one emergency knife all divers should wear. The special Hydralloy utilizes a unique blend of metal alloys and proprietary finishing techniques to provide a knife with the strength of 420-stainless-steel, while exceeding the corrosion resistance of 316-stainless-steel. Small size (L x W x H) 6.50" x 1.80" x 0.57" (16.51cm x 4.57cm x 1.45cm), attachments for belt, hose or fabric and no maintenance design make the Remora the emergency knife for all divers. Just like a Remora, you can attach it anywhere on your BCD or a hose.
Knife has serrated edge that easily cuts through rope & fishing line with a blunt tip. The knife blade length is 2.9" (7.37cm) and the Knife weighs 4.1 oz. (116.23 g). The durable impact resistant sheath attachment kit included for BC strap, Pocket, or 0.5" (13mm) hoses, makes mounting easy and comes complete with mounting hardware. The knife comes with a user manual.
