Bright light, but too bright

I have used the brand for many years prior to LED coming out. I love LED. This is a durable and BRIGHT Light. I bought for a night dive on the recent trip and did not want to spend $300 on something I will not use but maybe once a year. I will repeat, this is a bright light. It worked well, too well. The reason I gave 3 stars is because the low light setting is not much different from the high setting. It shoots a straight beam of light and after using, I realize a bright, straight beam of light can be useful, but not for observing. It needs to have the ability to act as a wide angle flood light rather than a straight beam of light.It is also very large and heavy (batteries add a lot of weight when traveling). If you plan to do a lot of night diving, then invest in a smaller light that has the ability to change the beam from spot to flood. If you are on a budget, this is good light. I have the Halogen version still and would rather dive with it because of it not being so bright.

Very bright

Love how bright it is! Pistol grip is a little weird if you need to let go of it to adjust your mask the light will point horizontally and spin, possibly getting shone into your buddy’s eyes (straight lights would just point down) So be careful! Overall a great purchase if you like the grip!!

Great product

Best bang for the buck! Durable! In use mine (these two make for my 5th and 6th in 15 years) for diving and duct taping onto a pole to be used as a gig light. Only reason I ever replace them is because I forget to take batteries out when storing for a long time and I loan them out to never be seen again.

Amazing, but mine was defective

Very good light. I had the old halogen bulb version and decided to get the LED. I don’t no much night diving but I thought it’d be nice to have just in case. Super bright, especially compared to a Princeton Tec I also have which is the same size. The UK drowns out the Princeton. The UK has a strong center beam and then a softer outer ring which I like. Only problem is that when I used it for the first time the light wouldn’t turn off. The switch became unresponsive all of a sudden. Would have gave it 5 stars were it not for that. Sent it back and will be getting a replacement soon.

Untried present so far!

Bought this for our sona commercial diver and now commercial diver diving instructor. He asked for this specific light. I was a little disappointed in the mailing boxpart of the light stuck out the end. Should be sent in a sturdy box when spending that much money.

My old one was really good and I have no reason to doubt that this one won't be better.

This is my fourth Underwater Kenetics dive light. I have not tested this light in 'real world' conditions but I've always been able to rely on their products and have a strong sense that they can be depended upon when needed.
