Happy Diver

Great to use! My only issue was figuring out how to thread the mask strap through the snorkel hole since it's a bit of a funky shape. After 20 minutes of messing with it, I figured it out. AquaLung or Leisure Pro should make a video on how to do this! I couldn't find anything else online.

Snorkel

Good I enjoy it and I'm not breathing or swallowing water when I used it. It's great for diving and it holds on my mask.

Best snorkel

Love these snorkels, I've used them for work on snorkel tours in the past and had to get my own personal one. Shipping was fast snorkel works great only minor issue was the snorkel keeper was a little torn and will probably rip even more over time.

Best Snorkel, Easy to Use

This snorkel is awesome!!! It keeps water out if you are snorkeling near the surface of the water. When diving under water with it, it is so easy to clear with simple breath of air. Truly one of the best snorkels I have used. I bought two in order to have a back up, but I am going to order another one, maybe even two more. I really love this snorkel and got a great price from Leisure Pro.

Great Snorkel!

This is by far the best snorkel I have ever used. Easy to clear when I dive down to get a closer look while snorkeling, though I have never used the old fashion, stiff ones without a purge. Maybe if someone was used to that type it may not be what they want? For me and my husband though - it's AMAZING!!!

Dangerous!

The big problem with this snorkel is that the mouthpiece does not have a buffer to your teeth. So once the snorkel is mounted on the mask and placed in your mouth, the soft mouthpiece does not have appropriate buffer to the hard plastic. This means if you are snorkeling and you knock on something, your teeth will be directly impacted by the hard plastic, and easily lose your front teeth.

Best snorkel out there.

If you don't want to have to do a lot of work to clear your snorkel and you want air coming into your lungs the moment you break waters surface then get this snorkel. It's the winner.

Best I've ever used.

This is the best snorkel I have ever used. The wide tube is great for breathing and the modular J-tube adds control to the snorkel. The two drain system is perfect for rough water.

I love the Impulse line from the very first model on up

I have both the flex tube and the regular. Flex tube is used on scuba setup so the mouthpiece drops away. Hard to swim super fast with tanks so it works. When I snorkel I usually swim fast enough when using the flex hose mouthpiece that the flex hose starts to flutter badly. The faster I swim the worse the flutter becomes. The regular tube mouthpiece doesn't have this problem. Plus once everything is adjusted properly it just pops into my mouth with no effort. Both snorkels can handle high airflow for heavy activity and both are great for what they do.

best ive ever used

i haveused this brand for years never any issues. if given the choice of the 3 model versus 2............buy the 3..................the non flex is better if u are a serious snorkeler............any solid one generally will be more reliable than a flex one

Great For Divers

Doing more drift diving in fairly rough water and this snorkel works great while waiting for pick up. Didn't carry snorkel for diving in past years but didn't do as many drift dives either.

This is the one!

This is the driest, most comfortable snorkel I've ever used. I've been in and under the water since 1958. For me, there is no other snorkel in second place.

Impulse 3 is the best... period

I've been snorkeling/diving for 45years. This is the most comfortable and driest snorkel I've ever used. Nothing in 2nd place as far as I'm concerned.

So glad I went with the Impulse 3

Very satisfied with the Impulse 3 snorkels. I run a small snorkel shop on the island of Kauai and the response from my customers have been great. I have used the Impulse 3 before I placed my order and it is my snorkel of choice. I had the Impulse 2 for 4 years and I hope to have the Impulse 3 for at least that long. Luckily living here, I do get a chance to snorkel a couple of times a week.

It's a snorkel

The snorkel does a pretty good job of keeping water out, some water does get in if the waves are really high (which is not unexpected). Overall it is a great snorkel.

My favorite snorkel

I like the Implusle 3 and the 2 also but without the flex, just the straight tube. Easier to clear and more comfortable. Have used these for years for freediving and they work great for me. A little larger than some but very comfortable.

Great Snorkle

Spectacular snorkel. I use it while resting at the surface, either before descending or while waiting to get back on the boat after a dive. IT just works. The purge blows out easily and I never have had a problem with water entering the top. While snorkling I like to dive down 20-30 feet and take pictures. When i get back to the surface, it only takes a slight exhale to completely clear the snorkel. It lets you breathe easily without dealing with water near the mouthpiece.

I didn't get what I thought I was gettin

I bought this snorkel online because my local shop did not have a replacement mouthpiece for previous snorkel. I liked the reviews for the Impulse 3. However, when I went to use it, I was not happy. I had trouble finding a comfortable position for it where it would not frequently flood. I am used to having a flexible section and this snorkel is rigid (I can't remember if the one in the picture online was exactly like the one I got or not). The picture on the package that came with my Impulse 3 has a snorkel with a flexible section. I have never had a snorkel that flooded so frequently and that I actually had to come up and dump the water out because there was too much water to clear with one breath. I finally rented a snorkel for the rest of the week. I complained about my Impulse, and the guys told me why theirs was better and how to use theirs properly. As it turned out, I discovered that I could twist the bottom of my Impulse (the rental also did this) and make the angle better. The packaging doesn't mention this and I have never had a snorkel that did this before. Anyway, this helped the flooding and the guys pointed out that I should hold my head differently for snorkeling than for diving, and this also helped. In the end, the Impulse worked at least as good as the rented one. The mouthpiece is softer, but also a little bigger than I would like it to be. Also, I found the clip to be difficult to use, compared to other clips I have had. When I was scuba diving, I just gave up on the snorkel, and used my regulator. Now that I am home, I am hoping my dive shop can get the part for my old snorkel. I did like the color and the sleek look of the Impulse. Also, on a slightly calmer day, after several adjustments, I did get the Impulse 3 to work without frequent floods, but I wasted a lot of time thinking about it. I think that the packaging should mention the adjustable part, show the correct angle in the water, and tell how to use the clip. Perhaps all of this is my mistake for buying on line, as what I learned about this snorkel, I learned from guys in dive shops I visited-I was in Maui and there are a lot of shops. They told me this one was better for snorkeling, and that the one with flex was better for scuba, but I think the positive reviews on line were by scuba divers. Sorry to be so negative, but you asked.

Easy to Purge

We used these snorkels in Cozumel. On calm days it was perfect. It is comfortable and purges easy. On one rough sea day mine kept filling with water, but once I concentrated on blowing it out about every 3-4 breaths, it kept clear. I would highly recommend this snorkel to anyone who has trouble purging (and maybe does not dive under the water)- this is the snorkel for you.

Some real snorkel R&D went into this

I am 50 years old. I've been free diving off and on since childhood. I think this is as good a snorkel as you will find on the market right now. Meaning you might find one equally as good but you won't find one better. This is one piece of gear that will help you stop thinking about equipment and help you concentrate on diving. Personally, I like the larger tube, swivelling mouthpiece (non-flex model), and outstanding drainage. Surprisingly dry!

Much Better than Previous Models

To reduce drag, fasten the keeper to the back of the mask strap...

Impulse 3 - The best

I've been an open water diver/snorkler since 1959. This is by far the most comfortable efficient snorkel I've ever used. There is nothing in 2nd place. It is a significantly better than the Impulse 2 at staying dry. (The Impluse 2 was great. This is even better). The most comfortable mouthpiece ever made.

awesome product

By JAMES J.

I started out with aqualung's total dry snorkel and switched to this after one season diving for abalone. What a difference having a good snorkel makes. With the total dry on calm days it was o.k. but as soon as it got choppy the valve was closing too often and interrupting my breathing. With the impulse 3 I never have this problem and the dry top diverts all water from going down into my mouth unless the snorkel is completely submerged by a wave for a couple seconds. I got the rigid pipe mod...

The Aqua Lung Impulse 3 is more streamlined and higher performing than its predecessors, the Impulse and Impulse 2. Since its introduction in 1989, the Impulse Snorkels have been the bestselling snorkels in the world. The Impulse snorkels feature a patented design, with a patented upper valve, a two-drain system and Aqua Lung's patented Comfo-Bite mouthpiece. The Impulse comes in Flex and Non-Flex versions. The Impulse 3 uses a two-valve system. If a wave breaks over the snorkel, the patented, upper, annular valve directs most of the water out before it even reaches the mouthpiece. Any water that does get past the annular valve drains out the lower valve. The reservoir located below the mouthpiece keeps breathing path clear of excess water. In the rare event that you need to clear the Impulse 3 Snorkel, almost no breath is needed, all it takes is an easy puff. Patented Comfo-bite mouthpieces, which does not require the user to clench their teeth, eliminate jaw fatigue. An optional, smaller size Comfo-bite is available. Comfo-bite mouthpieces are replaceable. The flex model allows the lower unit to drop away for use with a regulator Also available in a non-flex, standard version.
