Not sure how or why they fail but they do. Keep and extra set at all times. I shopped around on line and in local shops (Portland, Eugene, Medford, Oregon) and leisure pro had the best price. If you find a better deal let me know

I love the fins, they are great but the bands don't last that long, I on average break a band every 10-20 dives and they are always set on the lowest setting. Pity

Keep a set or two in your save a dive kit, just in case.

The fins are really great, pity the bands don't last, I seem to go through a set every 70-100 dives, they aren't that easy to change. I'd still recommend the fins as long as you don't mind the bands breaking.

If you dive the slingshots often, the power bands will eventually break. Get replacement bands. They take a minute to install, pack small and keep you diving.
