MARK R : Is there anything that protects the painted/treated tank surface from abrasions from the steel buckle?Mario C : Hi Mark, Nothing from factory. I had that system on my black ice BCD for many years now.. at least on my 8in 117hp it has never damaged the paint. have dings on tank for other causes but around the buckles.... I believe that an extra padding could be done ( inner tubes are great for that...) but is more a Macgyvering than from factory...
JEFFREY H : I’d like to use this with a Hollis Elite 2 backplate. Which of these two would fit my backplate with or without a single cylinder mounting plate?CHRISTOPHER R : I ordered 2x of the non-wrapture for use with my OMS backplate w/o a single tank adapter and they're the correct fit. The wrapture bands from what I understand are longer for use with recreational Aqua Lung BCs that have the wrapture system, which requires the bands to be longer. I believe both will in fact "work," however if you get the ones designed for the wrapture system the delineations in the velcro for tank sizes will be off.Mario C : Thank you for your question. yes it will work.

These cam lock your tank fast!

Added this to my Aqualung Dimension bc. Could not be happier. Fast and really locks down tank,no slippage. Easy to adjust if you switch tank size.

Performs as expected

Have dived these for a couple classes and on my own with AL80s and stainless LP80s. The bands perform as expected and do what they're marketed to do, which is told a tank and succeed at not crushing my fingers. Like all bands adjustments can be made over the course of the day as they stretch when exposed to water.

Upgrade on zeagle

Used this on a Ziegle bcd that had two straps requiring them to be slid over the top or the Velcro Undone each time. Ordered two as a replacement. Grip lock was a much better option and made attaching the tank quicker. Probably cut the set up time on half. This came with my Apeks black ice and was a great feature. Wish this type of strap was standard on all BCD’s. Highly recommend replacing if yours does not have something similar.

If youve ever had a bcd with these cam bands youd wonder why they arent the standard band. They make life so much easier especially if you have a bcd with two bands. Adjust them once and after that they simply buckle tight with no effort. They install easy and are very durable. I just put a pair on my zeagle ranger. Love them.

The Grip-Lock tank band assembly is the easy and safe solution for securing a cylinder to a BC. With its (pat. Pend.) finger-saver feature and macro presets, it solves many of the common problems associated with metal cam buckles. Find out how easy it is to use Grip-Lock. The innovative stainless-steel cam buckle Finger-Saver feature makes the Grip-Lock safe by eliminating painful, pinched fingers. The macro-adjustment is set just once until you change to a cylinder with a different diameter. Three presets cover the various diameter cylinders in the field today. The micro-adjustment can be used for fine-tuning the fit after the band is on the cylinder. Hint: If you line up the inside edges of the hook and loop on the micro adjustment side of the tank band, it will be perfectly set for an Al80 cylinder.
