STACY K : Can you tell me how rapidly the strobe flashes?JOHN S : a little slower than a turn signal on a carROB T : It flashes about once a second or just a bit longer. It works well and I am happy I purchased it.CLARKSTON P : We have two. One blinks about every 2 seconds. The other is a little slower - maybe 3 or 4 seconds between blinks.ARLENE S : The strobe flashes very fast; I guess every second. Its LED flashes for 300+ hours on 3 AA batteries. In addition the lamp is rated for more than 10,000 hours.HARVEY C : Roughly 2 flashes per second, IIRC. It died last year. Note that this is not a real strobe (xenon bulb fired by capacitor)-- just a single flashing LED. Virtually invisible in daylight.

Nice, though, when you're navigating a wreck in Lake Erie with 15 foot viz, or doing a night dive. I use it occasionally as a secondary strobe, if I wander from a reel line. It leaked

Went for a wreck dive on Sun and happily installed the strobe on the tank. It leaked so its a write-off. Salvaged the insides which are in good working order. Have the yellow strobe and checked it out for leaks and this is fine so hopefully no issues next time I dive.

Don't buy!!

Very very poor quality. Not bright at all. One broke before getting in the water. Sent both back. Leisure pro sells good quality products however this is not one of them.

Better than the brand my buddy uses.

I dive dark cold NW waters. I placed this strobe next to the one my buddy wears, his is a tank wet activated unit. Once we went below 15ft this strobe was the clear winner. It can be attached most anywhere since it has a long velcro strap. I just dove in the Maldives and was very glad I had it. In the Maldives safety doesn't seem to be a priority and having this made me feel much better about diving in such a high current area and being able to be found if swept away. I like it so much I plan to buy a couple more so I can loan them to dive buddies.

Excellent strobe.

I own several of these. I normally use one each dive, especially night dives or when visibility is poor. Makes it much easier to see your buddy, also a good safety item for when you are on the surface in busy boating areas. I have had the top snap off one, but they get heavy use.

Broke before I even could use it

This is perhaps the worst item I've ever bought since I became a diver. I put the batteries in to try it before a trip, and the bulb completely twisted off as I screwed the top on. I have several twist-activated lights (and prefer them as a tech diver), so I did not screw it on incorrectly. I would never consider buying anything from tektite again. Only Princeton Tec, Halcyon, and Big Blue for me from now on.

Looks can be deceiving

The light is bright. I have not had any leaks so far. I have 2, 1 for me and 1 for my son. The only con is the reflector housing is a bit too long. It makes carrying it is more inconvenient. My next light will be more compact.

Excellent product, a bit long

This strobe is an excellent piece of emergency equipment to own. I carry it in my BC pocket while open water diving in the event of surfacing away from the boat, being left behind, etc. Also use it for night diving, both as a tank marker and for marking my position on the surface for shore support to identify. I have also used it for shore marker. Very bright light, long battery life, but very long and wouldn't fit in most BC pockets.

Sturdy... bright /dark/bright/dark.....

I have always used chemical lights (Cyalume) sticks for night diving applications but they are now outlawed in many places. This strobe definitely filled that need and worked very well. It was very easy to see where my partner was at all times even at a good distance when the visibility was not optimum. One minor nit: To turn the light on you have to really crank the head down hard to make contact with batteries. I had to completely disassemble one of the two strobes that I bought and reshape the copper inner parts to get it to make contact.
