Shopper : What is the distance between the grommets?Eric L : There’s actually three of them. Two are spaced by 2 and 3/4 and the third is at 3 and 7/8 from the firstMario C : Thank you for your question and answers. One minor correction Eduardo, 3 holes (correct) distances are 70mm and 98mm. Hope it helpsEduardo M : There are 3 grommets and the distance from knife opening diside to the knife tip end are: 70mm and 90mm.
John V : Do you still use the clip attached to the sheath with this product or does the knife screw on to the bcd more securely?Eduardo M : The clip is removed and the attachment plate is screwed through the BCD onto the knife sheath.Michael R : You do not use the clip, it will be removed and this attachment screws into its place for a very secure fit. The two thumb screws then attach the device to the BCD for a good positive mounting.DANIEL S : The sheath screws to the BCD or whatever you attach it to. The TUSA BCD has grommets, not visible in the picture, that align with the screw holes. The clip is not used anymore, and the sheath is now firmly attached to the BCD. Hope this helps.BESTCONNECTIONS 1 : Take the clip off and screw directly to bcd to get a lower profile, so things don't get hooked on it. It's much sturdier then using the clip.SHANNON W : It screws onto the BCD using the grommet holes.

Nice option

I purchased this to compliment my new conquest 2 bcd which had been fitted for bcd knife mounting. I found it so handy that I had an older bcd retrofitted with 5/16" brass grommets in one of the main pockets to match the stud pattern of the adapter and now I can use it on that bcd.

Suitable for intended job

Installs fine and holds knife, but tends to slip back and forth along bc retention holes. Would be better if it could tighten more but works fine for its purpose.

Great

This is a great attachment to add a dive knife, whether it be a primary or a secondary. As far as i know it only fits the TUSA line and only the FK-10/11 or also the 14 which is the one i have. Built well looks good attached and seems to do a great job keeping my knife handy and ready. I will admit it is slightly tricky to install, or at least it is if you have fairly large hands. However i do not find that to be a huge obstacle that cannot be overcome.

Little life saver

I bought this so I could mount my TUSA BC knife on my TUSA BCJ 4000 Soverin which has knife grommets. It fits well and my knife is now mounted on my BC at all times. I now only use my larger knife for snorkelling. SCUBA gives you more time to handle emergencies where a cutting tool is required and this knife is light weight and conveniently located. No more having to bend to the leg to get the knife and I had to do that twice. The first time I didn't have a knife so had to untangle myself from fishing line. I now always dive with a cutting tool. Get this and get the knife that goes with it and make sure your BC is designed for this. Great safety equipment.

Does what it does fine

I use a small Tusa knife to limit bulk, but my BCD is an Aqualung. It fits the knife grommets for my BCD but it pushes the knife forward a bit and looks really strange. All in all it works great and I have had no problems with it.

Excellent attachment for the knife

I use this attachment on my Oceanic Probe HCL BCD that I bought here from LP. This attachment fits the knife mount grommet holes perfectly, and keeps the gear in tight. Perfect for an upper body knife when wreck diving. The screws appear too long when first starting to attach the device, but they wind up being a perfect length once tightened all the way down.

Most BCD knife mounts provide a soft mount" for a BCD knife which depends on the knife sheath for rigidity. The placement of the BCD knife on the top end of a pocket tends to put it in a position that is not easy to locate when wearing a mask and the diver must depend on touch" to re-locate the sheath to insert their knife in the sheath. Having a solid-mount" provides rigidity and makes re-insertion of a knife in its sheath easier in this scenario.

The TUSA Mini Knife Attachment is ideal for attaching an TUSA FK-10 or FK-11 BCD Knives (see SKU's: TBTK10 or TBTK11) to a BCD equipped with knife grommets.
