I love the idea of less hoses while maintaining normal safety functions. Like other people have pointed out these are quite a compromise if you actually have to breathe from it. They don?t breathe as good as dedicated regs and you don?t have much freedom of movement to turn your head bc the hose is so short. I look at it like this, if I?m switching to my alternate I?m surfacing or hanging out on the mooring line so I don?t need the luxury. I am lengthening my primary so it?s easier to donate.

I got this as the alternate air source for my wife’s TUSA Liberator. It was recommended by the great people at Leisure Pro. It was a quick swap with no problems with her inflator and hose replacement on her primary. 1st dive, we went over emergency procedures with it & it was easy for her to transition from the octopus to this system. She loves it!

The inflator button is stiff and still hasn't loosened up after 14 dives. It's enough for my wife to dislike it. Otherwise it has been working well. I have it on a zeagle and the pull to dump works just fine with this octo. Also I really appreciate that the hose is a normal LP hose with an adapter on it. This allowed me to buy a shorter hose for a perfect fit

I have own the original Duo Air for over 15 years. It breathed as good as ANY regulator I've owned... On this last trip it had a tiny amount of air leaking from it when I was gearing up. I'd bump the purge button and it would stop.... Since I dive solo and must be sure of what I dive with, it got me to thinking that it might time to tear into it, or buy another. I bought the Duo Air II. While I initially thought (from pictures) the DA II was smaller, it is not. And, in fact, it weighs about 1 oz more (24 grams) more than the original DA. One thing that I liked on the original DA was that I could change out the mouth piece to a Comfo-bite... Can't do that on this DA II without getting the dremel out to make modifications. One improvement that the DA II has on the original is the function of the buttons. Both are not "sticky" like that of the original DA. In the living room connected to a tank with 1500psi, they both breathe the same. Aesthetically speaking, the DA II wins. I just hope this new model has the longevity of the original.

This is a top value for the $$$$, Its much nicer to have one less hose dangling. Breathes well through 80.

The SS0002 Duo Air II is a reliable downstream demand valve alternate air source that also provides you with an easy-to-operate power inflator. The SS0002 features a balanced power inflator power inflate button, manual inflate/deflate button, large diameter purge button, and a low profile mouthpiece. When you took dive lessons you learned to perform specific skills to make you safe and comfortable underwater and at the surface. One of those skills was buoyancy control. Once you start diving for fun you use your buoyancy control devise constantly throughout the dive. Your octopus or alternate air source devise on the other hand is never used unless there is an emergency out of air situation. Reacting properly in an out of air situation can make the difference between a safe dive and a tragedy. If your alternate air source and your BCD inflator devise are one and the same you will always know where to find it in an emergency.
The TUSA SS0002 is a second stage regulator and balanced inflator in a single, compact housing. The SS0002 builds upon an already superior product the IR-3 Duo-Air. It is lightweight, streamline, and eliminates the need for a backup-regulator. The TUSA SS0002 Air II air-balanced power inflator valve means you'll have a steady stream of air, regardless of the pressure in your tank. The Air 2 - 5th Generation leaves you breathing- easy throughout your dives.
The TUSA SS0002 Air II provides one-hand operation for instinctive and simple operation the self-flushing mechanism requires just one push-on-the-purge to clear away all dirt or to purge water. The regulator mechanism is a simple, yet reliable classic downstream demand valve. TUSA SS0002 Air II is equipped with a larger hi-comfort ergonomic mouthpiece; large second-stage cover and one-button purge function. The Regulator's pre-tuned system is housed in a precision molded carbon fiber and techno-polymer case for strength and durability. The demand valve is chrome plated brass with a stainless steel spring and a silicone rubber diaphragm and exhaust valve. The TUSA SS0002 Air II comes with a 3/8" threaded 27.56" (70 cm) high-flow low-pressure hose and an owner's manual.
