Questions & Answers

Shopper : Weight of the bag empty?Miguel L : It is just over 8 lbs empty.
KELLY D : Does the bag stand up on it's end like in the photo?darrick c : Hello Kelly, if you pack this bag correctly, yes it should stand up and not fall over.PHILLIP L : Not really and when loaded its balance is really dependent on how you load the bag. Its a good bag, we had 2 but mine blew out some stitching because of how the airlines handled the bag. I did replaced it with a Stahlsac Curacao Clipper Bag.
Shopper : Is the Tusa rd2 lined inside?DEAN B : No. It's a single layer material, waterproof to a great extent. It's lightweight but tough. We've used ours on numerous dive trips and it has held up great.darrick c : Hello, yes this would have a liner on the inside of the bag.
Ervin K : Can you put a luggage lock in it? Is it lockable?Rocco D : The zipper tabs have holes in the handles so it is possible to lock the zippers together closed with a small lock.RON H : no you can not & the pocket for the fins is to small trying to fit a set of fins in it makes the zipper too tight causing the zipper to break during travelMICHAEL G : You can lock the zipper tabs together. Great bag.Keith M : Yes. I used TSA approved locks on it.
Edward D : What is the empty weight? Not specified under specifications?Henry S : About 8 lbs

The fin compartment is too small, I had to take off straps to cram in. It does not stand on its own very well unless leaned against something, tipped forward frequesntly

Great option for scuba and general use

Great bag for scuba and general use. Very tough material, easy gliding yet robust zippers. Would be nice if it were a little lighter. Sometime pull handle is balky. Overall I really like it. It is the perfect size - if it were any larger I think you would be over weight after filling.

Best Bag Best Deal

Best bang for your buck scuba bag. Large and fits all of my gear. Very durable with good construction. This is the second one I have purchased (for my spouse). Highly recommend over some of the more expensive options.

Highly recommended

I've had one of these for several years. Have taken it on about 6 trips to Cozumel. The bag gets handled by a number of people on each trip ? me, TSA, airlines, shuttle services, if I choose to land in Cancun ? I drag it to the bus, then it's on-and-off the bus, then it gets dragged to the ferry, then on-and-off the ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel. On occasion, when I didn't feel like dealing with the taxi in Cozumel, I've walked it from the ferry to my hotel (skate type wheels over crummy sidewalks and fake cobblestone surfaces). Skate wheels will outlast spinner wheels. Think about that when you are going to a destination that requires that you haul your own luggage some distance (ever try to drag a heavy bag with broken spinner wheels?) The bag itself is lighter than a similar capacity hard sided case. So, more of your luggage allowance goes to gear instead of the luggage itself. When I pack it, the final weight will be anywhere from 42 lbs to 48 lbs. Nothing inside my TUSA bag has ever gotten damaged in transit. The bag itself remains undamaged. No zipper problems, no torn fabric, all the webbing used for handles / straps is still in great condition. The only thing that worries me is that TUSA might discontinue it by the time I want to buy another one.

Durable and lots of room

Great looking, durable bag. I bought it because it is made with the same material as the one I currently have that has lasted multiple trips a year for the last 15 years and is still going strong except for one zipper that is messing up. I hope I get half the amount of use out of this bag!

Seems very durable and well constructed bag.

Haven't actually traveled with it yet, but, it is as nice and seems as durable as the bag it will be replacing that I have used to travel on many dive and family trips for the last 15 years. Sometimes multiple trips per year. More room than my old one, so I'm very happy once I got my hands on the bag and saw it in person. I only wish there were a few more outside pockets like my old one to seperate things, but, since there is more room inside, I should be fine. I will use the fin pocket to pack my sunscreen, shampoo, etc that might potentially leak on my clothes or gear.

It was larger than I expected and handled well. It also looks great. The tie down straps inside and out were helpful too.

Great Travel Duffel Bag

I just returned from a dive trip in Mexico. The duffel bag is sturdy and large enough for all my equipment with a bit of space left over. I hope to continue using this bag for travel again in April. I really can't think of any negatives at this point. I would recommend this product to fellow divers.

TUSA large roller bag

I was able to pack close to the 70# limit with no trouble, more than enough space. Bag has a tendency to tip backwards which is a little annoying. Bottom of bag received a couple small holes compliments of United and not a ding on the cloth quality. I looked at lots of bags in several dive shops and online and this one had the space and features I require. It has a bungee on outside to maybe hold a coat but it also looks like something the airlines could find a way to destroy. I’m not 100% happy with this bag but then again all previous had their short comings.

Bag A Good One

Excellent bag so far. Large enough for my scuba gear plus cloths for a 5 day scuba trip to Belize. No sign of any wear on the bag after airport ground handling to and from Belize with a transfer in Houston. Rolls well, hoisting handles are perfectly placed, and the interior security straps kept the gear from jostling about. Ample pockets. Vert happy with it.

exactly what we wanted

This was the perfect rolling duffle for 2 warm water divers. Our gear is NOT light weight warm water gear. Size meets the 62" total linear airline requirement. Storage space is efficient because it's one large volume with no internal dividers. We used the outside fin pocket for wife's full 3mm wetsuit. Put 2 full sets of dive gear in this bag except for regulators, masks, and computers which went into carryons. Everything else into this bag plus pair of sandals and sunscreen and total weight right at 49 pounds. Only way to get an even better space/ weight tradeoff is a non-rolling duffle bag but I don't want to lug one around.

Great Bag

Just recently used this bag on a trip and I really like the bag as it will carry pretty much all you want on a trip. It also helps having three ways to move the bag around when outside of the airport, inside the airport and at the destination. The bag has the roller wheels, the middle handle and two hand holds at each end. The only down side I found is that you have to be very careful with the weight as it will easily carry more than the 50 pounds normally limited by airlines for checked bags.

Bag does not stand up

I purchased this bag based on the photo of it standing on its short end. The bag does not actually do this. If it is put up like this it falls on the handles, which is not good in an airport or for your dive gear. I sent the bag back and will continue to look for another model.

Great roomy bag

I purchased this bag since I live in Alaska and do most of my diving out of state. The airports are brutal on bags. This bag has handled over a dozen trips thus far and is holding up just fine. What I like about this bag is I can get my BCD, large fins, weights, 9mm thick wet suit, mask, snorkle, other accessories in it. My biggest problem is keeping my bag under the 50lbs. max. weight by the airlines. I carry on my reg. What I was surprised about the bag and thus would rather give it a 4.5 star rating is the side panel is not deep enough for my fins, but they fit in main compartment. Wheels and extended handle seem to be holding up great. For the price it is a good buy. I would buy this bag again for it's roominess, sturdy construction, and materials. Hope this helps you. John

Excellent Scuba Bag

I wanted a scuba bag made of strong, durable material, and was very pleased when the bag arrived and I saw how well it was made. Within 2 weeks I took it to Cozumel for a diving trip. It handled well in the airport, did not get damaged on 4 flights, and was barely scuffed. Wheels tend to be a weak point, so I was concerned as to how they would perform. No problems at all. The wheels are strong and roll well. The handle is good too. The space is decent. There were only 2 minor issues. The first being the side compartment for fins. It only held one fin (I use the Mares Avanti Quattro, extra large). Smaller fins would probably fit. However, I just put the other fin in the main compartment. The other issue was the bungee cord on top of the bag. It really was pretty useless and more of an encumbrance than a useful feature. I ended up cutting it off and prefer the bag without it. (Plus, I now have a very useful bungee cord.) This bag is definitely worth buying, especially at the 50% sale price I got it for.

Purchaser of the Tusa duffel dive bag

Size of bag was very important to me and the Tusa bag fit my usage. Price was also very important and this bag was less expensive than the other bags I considered. I would strongly recommend this bag for those divers that want to pack all their equipment and clothes in one bag and keep the weight below airline limits.

TUSA dive bag

the bag is as pictured, my fins both fit in the side pocket. The little pocket at the end of the bag is almost worthless it could probably hold a small log book. inside is large and fits everything I need for diving and then some. I haven't taken on a trip yet so hopefully it will hold up against the luggage guys. gave 4 stars since I haven't traveled with it yet that will be the big test

Good Bag

By MICHAEL N.

I bought the bag for carting my gear around on airlines. I've packed it and checked it for two long trips. Each trip had multiple flight legs, so lots of handling. On the ground, I dragged it around and tossed it into cars and boats. The bag looks sturdy and has held up. Each time it was packed it weighed 48 pounds. I fit my fins, BCD, weights, wetsuit, mask and everything else in the bag. I'm tall, so all my stuff is XL. It would not have been easy to fit another BCD, but I had almos...
