This is an excellent cold water regulator. I highly recommend it. I have owned the earlier Sherwood Magnum Blizzards, and they are legendary under the ice. I bought this newer version because it has two high pressure ports and adjustable air knob, and like the design of the first stage. I bought this for use with my Kirby Morgan MOD1 full face mask. The New Blizzard will lock onto the mask POD to pass the 25 lb safety test. My old Blizzard can't do that and pass.

Fantastic regulator! I own the first generation and still dive it regularly without ever having had a problem. This new regulator is just that much better. Easy to breath, no change in breathing effort in whatever position you are in and it is a workhorse just like the first generation regulator. I do not dive anything but Sherwood Blizzard regulators.

Dove in 45 water temps earlier this year it handled great was real easy to breath. Our water temps dont rise up til the end of may and still that's at about 50 to 55 then june it finally starts to get in the 60s. So its normally used in cold water alot and it works like a dream

Great reg! I had an earlier generation of this regulator that I've used for the past 10 years. My season starts when the ice goes out when the waters are about 35 degrees f. The previous reg worked flawlessly and is now on my backup system. This new generation blizzard provides me ez-flo even on the hardest days. I highly recommend this regulator for anyone working in cold Waters.

Introducing the 2016 Sherwood Blizzard, a newly designed regulator perfect for cold water diving! This regulator's unique 2nd stage valve design has been rigorously tested, proving its outstanding performance in various conditions. The large diaphragm and purge cover ensure easy breathing, while the diver-operated Venturi control allows for adjustments as needed.
The Blizzard's 1st stage is entirely dry and environmentally sealed, preventing icing and maintaining cleanliness. Its Piston 1st stage design doesn't require gels or liquids to create a seal. With 30 years of popularity among cold water divers and Public Safety Dive Teams, the Blizzard has become known for its reliability and ease of service. This latest model offers improved breathing performance, enhanced cosmetics, and a competitive price point.
Sherwood's first stage regulator features a dry sealed spring and flow-by piston design that mechanically balances air, ensuring excellent breathing at full or low cylinder pressures. The dry seal function allows for intermediate pressure increase without messy oils or grease, keeping the regulator free from contaminants like salt, sand, and chlorine. It includes two 7/16" threaded high-pressure (HP) ports and four 3/8" threaded low-pressure (LP) ports for gauges and LP accessories.
The second stage boasts a large diaphragm and exhaust valve for optimal inhalation response and reduced exhalation resistance. Its precision-ground stainless steel cam, Delrin lever, and resilient silicone rubber seat provide smooth, effortless breathing. The Blizzard also features a venturi adjustment lever to prevent free flow and has a dive/pre-dive setting for different entry scenarios.
Cold water divers will love the exclusive second-stage heat-retention vanes that keep the valve mechanism warm, reducing the risk of freeze-up. These vanes also keep your mouth cool and comfortable. The heat/moisture retention vanes collect vapor from exhaled air and return it to the diver upon inhalation, promoting hydration and reducing dry mouth. The Blizzard comes with a 3/8" threaded 31" (78.75cm) low-pressure hose, is nitrox compatible up to 40% oxygen, and includes an owner's manual.
