Some people have reviewed this item in the past and stated that it was difficult to remove with wet hands or gloved hands, I find this to be true but I remidied this by drilling small holes in the perimeter of the thumb wheel and inserting small brass or aluminum screws. The thumbwheel is made of Chrome plated brass and has 10 raised areas along its perimeter, I drilled a 5/32in. hole in every other one and tapped the hole with a #8-32 tap, then i simply inserted a #8-32 aluminum screw. Brass screw will also work (and are cheaper and easier to find).

Works well, but difficult to change from one valve type to another while underway on the dive boat. Would be better to buy the din valve version of the regulator and a universal valve conversion.

The DIN adaptor for the SR1 does basically that, nothing more, nothing less. My one major gripe with it, is that the chrome is very slippy when wet, and difficult to tighten (especially when your fingers are cold, changing the tank for that second dive). Sherwood could have taken a lesson from other DIN adaptors and provided a rubber grip or something similar.

You started diving with yoke style cylinder valves, but you feel the higher cylinder pressure available with DIN cylinders will be an advantage to your style of diving Well this kit will allow you to do just that, shed the yoke and increase bottom time with these 300 bars (4,350 psi) DIN conversion kit. Also, Scuba divers who travel overseas will want to have a DIN adapter to adapt to the tanks available at the local dive sites. The adapter allows you to easily convert your first stage, if required, so you can use your own gear rather than rental gear! DIN assembly is constructed from marine grade corrosion resistant chromed brass and comes with a rubber protective cap. Higher pressure will allow you to extend your bottom time. Most HP cylinders are made from steel, so you can also remove some of the weight from your weight system due to the lower buoyancy characteristics of the HP cylinder. DIN conversion kit is designed for Sherwood SR1 SR2 Regulator (see SKU: SWDSR2). Simple to install, a must addition to your save-a-dive kit, if you're a world traveling diver you got to have one!
