Questions & Answers

Gary J : I have fins, mask and snorkel.  Any problem using this with rental equipment?Toan-Vinh L : This attaches to the first stage of a regulator, so you would need to dive with a shop that allows this to be attached to their equipment. It would only take a few minutes to attach the QD high pressure hose and you can detached the computer at the end of each day for logs, or just to keep it safe from being tossed around in a gear bag. This type of computer is best for when you'll be diving with the same shop over few days, so that your gear is selected and set aside for multi-day use; otherwise, the hose/computer will have to be installed every day, a hassle. A wrist computer is better suited for switching out regulators more often. This computer is air integrated and the cost is low compared to buying a wrist computer with a wireless transmitter. Air integration is a nice feature to have, but an SPG is really all you need. I have both this computer and a wrist computer. My primary is the wrist computer, as it uses a more conservative algorithm. I got the Vision for the air integration, but it really isn't needed; however, after downloading the dive data, it's nice to see my air consumption over a dive.TRAVIS V : I would recommend that your first piece of gear be a regulator, as that will make the biggest difference in how much you enjoy diving....a good reg is gold. Any computer you can buy on the market nowadays will do far more than you will ever need. So spend money on the reg and buy a lower cost computer if you must budget.JASON J : Sure you could use it just be sure the place you are renting from allows attatching your computer to their equipmentKerry B : Could have, need to check with dive place, due to your vision has disconnect hose. I know Sherwood has same thread to screw your hose to and if you don’t take hose the coupler may not fit computer. What I do is if I’m flying out of country I use theirs. I just get them to give me a paper log I can transfer when I get home to laptop. The other thing to consider is on plane keep computer in carry on luggage do to storage below is not pressurized, computer only good to 14,000 feet. I hope this answers your question.CHRIS N : There Shouldn't be..its a baseline model. Would go for something newer if you can afford it
Shopper : What is the program you need to put in it?Tim S : There is no program to put in, its all there. Pretty easy to operate once you get used to it. The manual is good and easy to understand. Set up takes a little to get it set to your liking, after that its mostly just setting what mix you have in which tank or changing the time if you travel.CHRIS K : It comes pre-programmed, the usb cable is used to download dive data and get software updates to the program. The following is what the program uses for dive performance: -Modified Haldanean based Pelagic DSAT algorithim -No Deco limits closely follow PADI RDP -Decompression is in agreement with Buhlmann ZHL-16c and French MN90 -No Deco Deep Stops >> Marroni, Bennett -Altitude >> Buhlmann, IANTD, RDP -Altitude corrections and O2 limits based on NOAA tables
MICHAEL H : I’m have issues with the software setting up the computer the software can see it the handshake fails. Any advice?CHARLES H : Must be in TIME mode or it wont connect
CHRISTOPHER G : Can I set a low air alarm?ALAN P : Yes you can. You can set your alarms for turn pressure, end pressure and dive time remaining (DTR). Hope this helps. Thanks.ROBERT P : There is an alarm you can set for low air
Lori A : What battery does this take for replacement?ELIZABETH R : It was a gift for a friend so I don't know....sorry!ALAN P : Hi Lori, It takes the 3V CR2450 battery. You can also buy the Sherwood Battery Kit ( battery+ O-ring + lubricant)for Wisdom. It is recommended to replace the O-ring when you replace the battery. Hope this helps.Cuong N : I haven't change out mine yet, but manual said it's a 3V CR2450.

Save your money... buy another dive computer!

Bought this in August 2019. Everything worked just fine during the first scuba trip. After hours of trying to figure out how to download data from the computer, I reached out to customer service and was successful in downloading the data. 2nd dive trip the computer decided to take a CRAP! Unable to access menu items, the icon simply scrolls. Can't review dives afterward. Tank connector locked up and will not release, preventing me from attaching the computer to the tank. Tried to download data from the 4 dives I had using the computer, NO DATA..... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I'm now on the search for a new dive computer!

Great Value!

I think that when it comes to purchases such as this, everyone has different boxes to check. We all have different things we want and need in a computer. Truthfully, this thing checked every box I had and at such a remarkable price point. At least at this point in time (late 2019) I can't see a better option for the money. I specifically wanted a computer that was air integrated with a digital compass, had a QD hose, that could handle multi gases, and wasn't bulky as hell. I got everything I wanted for like $100 more than a budget non AI computer or generic gauge console. Unfortunately when I received it the battery was dead. Upsetting but the battery cost like $2 and was super easy to change. After that I played with it while going through the manual to lean what each feature was and how to use it. I set it up to my preference, took it on a dive and it performed flawlessly. The only issue I had was when trying to get the light to work. Basically the manual is not clear on this but you must click the select button twice quickly in a dim/dark area for it to work. Not press for >2 seconds as the manual says. That will get you to the compass.

Great computer

My only complaint is that it needs be easier to read on night dives. The internal light is marginal, so I just use my torch and don't usethe internal light.

Easy to use

I have dove my Vision now for a few months. It is super easy to navigate. The characters are good size. Not the largest I've seen but still quite large. Built in compass works well too.

Easy to read and use at surface and depth, feature packed

Great computer, very easy to read at depth and surface. Easy to program and use with only 3 buttons! The quick disconnect makes it easy to seperate the comp from your reg when traveling or connecting to the computer. My wife and I both dive with this computer and would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, easy to operate, feature packed computer.

Inaptly named . . .

. . . because, at least for my old eyes, the Vision computer is hard to read, harder still because I couldn't get the backlight to work enough to read it without a flashlight in cavern and other low light conditions. Other than my not being able to read it, it's fine--and probably a good deal for people blessed with good close vision.

Vision dive computer.

By Kerry B.

Nice computer, everything is all in one, very simple to use.

The Vision Computer with quick disconnect hose is an innovative console computer by Sherwood. New levels of sophistication and technology allow this air-integrated console computer to stand alone in a sea of outdated and feature lacking dive computers. The Vision incorporates a 3-button design that delivers everything recreational or technical divers could ever need. It allows you 4 gases all the way up to 100% oxygen for unmatched enriched air diving.

You will find the newly incorporated 2-D digital compass and air-integration display extremely convenient, allowing you to ditch those extra gauges on your console. The vision allows for 3 dive modes: air, nitrox or gauge to make sure that no matter what type of diving you decide to do, you are covered. The Vision also features an automatic altitude adjustment up to 14,000' (4,367 meters). No more conversions, just drive up the mountain to your favorite lake and you ready to get wet!

On top of all the great new features of the Sherwood Vision it still features many familiar and necessary qualities. The screen displays dive time remaining, NDL, maximum depth, current depth, and surface interval time. Additionally you can refer back to 110 dives with the computers extensive memory bank. Other features include: Pre-dive planning and repetitive-dive planning, which allow you to walk through your planned profiles before beginning your dive. This is convenient if you ever use the computer in gauge mode. DECO and dive stop warnings (audio and visual) assist you in safe diving practice and optimal nitrogen unloading.

Air Time Remaining:
The Air Time Remaining (ATR) feature calculates current depth, tank pressure, your breathing rate, ascent time, and decompression status to tell you exactly how much time you can remain underwater. The Vision Dive Computer continually displays air time remaining via a numerical bar graph in addition to cylinder pressure. You may also display air time remaining in oversized digits at any time with the press of a button.

Dive Time Remaining:
Dive Time Remaining (DTR), like Air Time Remaining provides a 'real" number in minutes. This calculation combines nitrogen and oxygen absorption, displaying whichever allows less time. Displayed as DTR on the No Deco Main Screen, the graphic NDC, or OTR will identify which time is being displayed. NDC is the maximum amount of time that you can stay at your present depth before entering decompression. During nitrox operations oxygen accumulation during a dive or a 24 hour period, is displayed as a percent of oxygen saturation allowed per dive or per day.

Is it a good idea to check your computer before entering the water? You bet could you forget to activate your computer? Sure, the Vision features push-button or automatic activation, triggered by water contact. A benefit of push-button activation is easily verifying operation and cylinder pressure, but in case you forget, or simply choose not to activate your computer, it can be as simple as jumping in the water.

The Vision Computer uses a modified Haldanean based Pelagic DSAT algorithm, with no decompression limits closely following the PADI RDP, decompression in agreement with Bulhmann ZHL-16c and French MN90. Computer provides a depth display from 0' to 399' (0 to 120 meters) in gauge mode and 0' to 330' (100 meters) in normal mode. Tank pressure is displayed from 0 to 5,000 psi (0 to 350 bars). The computer can display imperial or metric measurements and is powered by a 3-volt CR2450 Lithium user replaceable battery. Computer is equipped with backlighting for night and low light conditions. The Vision has a 24 dive log book, so if you're on an extended dive vacation you can log your dives back at home.

No matter where or how you dive, the new Sherwood Vision can keep you safe and informed with new, innovative technology and a simplistic menu system. Get ready for easy diving with the Sherwood Vision Console Computer with Quick Disconnect 7/16" threaded Hose. Computer is compatible with both PC and Mac computers for downloading dive log via the supplied USB cable. Computer comes with a compressive owner's manual.
