Concept great, but poorly executed design. Lasted about two years. Corners deteriorated with wear quickly, internal frame bent, handle jammed and when. As for the warranty, turns out Stahlsac does not have replacement parts or doesn't do repairs...will offer a 20% discount on new bag./ You be the judge!

We purchased two of these bags for a dive trip to Raja Ampat. We liked the size and compartment configuration and made our decision based on the reviews. The bags arrived and we were satisfied. However, after just one trip, the material that covers the frame corners to protect the fabric at those locations just disintegrated on BOTH bags leaving those very critical points vulnerable to further damage. As we are frequent travelers, we decided to return these and find something more durable that will last multiple trips. On the positive side, otherwise they feel well built. The size is very adequate for warm diving with plenty of room to spare.

Fits all of the dive stuff with room to spare. Easy to drag around. Balances well when it is upright. Sturdy handle and material. Biggest challenge is packing within weight limits.

Great liveaboard for local cold water diving. Holds BCD, 7mm suit, regs and more. Easy roller, sturdy wheels.

Full disclosure-- I haven't actually traveled with this bag yet, but it's packed and ready to go this week. I ordered this bag for a long international dive trip. I chose it because it was not too big and heavy (there are baggage limits on small flights). It is just large enough to hold all my travel gear -- wetsuit, BC, reg, etc. But if you have really long fins they won't fit. There are no separate pockets for fins. The main compartment arrangement is a bit odd -- with the bag laid down, there is a shallow "bottom" compartment along the entire length of the bag, separated from the upper section by a zippered flap. I'm not sure what I would put there. Maybe towels or clothes? Construction: wheels and frame look really sturdy. Fabric is medium weight, which is why the bag is so light (and why I chose it). Hopefully it will hold up for a long time. But I do not plan on using this bag for local dives -- that's what Rubbermaid crates are for.

Got this bag to carry two sets of equipment (wings, fins, etc.). Fit with space to spare. Very light and easy to manipulate through the airport. Highly Recommended!!!

Best investment ever. Love this bag. It held a ton and held up well as a checked bag. No concerns/complaints. Rolls easily and the extra lift handles make it easy to maneuver in and out of the car or on and off the luggage carousels.

Finally got the Stahlsac Curacao into the field on two trips, packed with just under 50 lbs of gear. Seams and zippers held up and the rugged handle on the base made loading and unloading easier. Of the three gear bags bought in the last ten years this is the best.

We took this bag loaded to the gills with dive gear to the Maldives. The bag stood up to 4 airplane flights, being wheeled and partially dragged through the sand for 1/4 miles and tossed on and off of 6 ships and ferries. Well designed... the big wheels are a plus and the storage capacity is awesome.

First of all, based on a recommendation from a "chat guy" at Leisure Pro based on his use of this bag, I bought two. Our trip started in AL and we landed 28 hours later in Taveuni. These bags are the schnizle! (the bomb, the best, etc.) We got the bright yellow trimmed ones and they were the easiest to spot on the luggage carousel, in the airport if we got separated, anywhere. Packing - we used each one to pack our own set of dive gear: BC, fins, mask, wetsuit, rashguard, regulator and computer, first aid and save-a-dive kits, plus sundry other items used on our trip. We usually end up with large suitcases on the 50# mark and a lot of extra space inside the bags but these were packed nicely, cinched down and well under 48# each time we had to weigh the bags fully loaded. Yes, there is plenty of room for more but we didn't feel like we were taking up a lot of space in cargo with a monster 50# bag of half empty suitcase. For a 10 day trip to Paradise we were able to add one smaller duffle and two backpacks for the minimal amount of clothes and shoes - well done "Chat" guy! P.S. Husband was thrilled he didn't hit his heels with the bottom of the case with the handle extended and walking thru all the various airports - he's tall with big shoulders; this is always an issue with standard luggage! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Very light but extremely strong. Easy to pack, easy to pull, and stands upright when loaded. I've put about 50,000 air miles on mine, and going for another 25,000 in March.

Great bag! Just took it for a weekend dive trip to Key Largo. It is compact but really holds a lot of gear. I packed fins, BCD, mask, snorkel, 5mm wetsuit, hooded vest and regulator with room to spare. Excellent construction. Will be getting one for my wife. Love Stahlsac products.

Very versatile and durable bag. Wet/dry compartments plus the fin pockets ouside on either side. Makes packing much easier. And not too big. Very happy with it.

This is my second Curacao Clipper. They are the best and durable bags made. I've had other brands and paid more, but have gotten less. The two Akona bags I had ripped at the seams, the zippers broke, and mechanism rusted. I still have my first Stahlsac and, I just ordered the larger bag.

used this bag for the first time on a dive trip to the cayman islands. pros: rolls wellstays uprightconvenient grips on top, side and bottom for easy handlingi bought the yellow bag, which was easy to identify when coming off the baggage conveyor. cons: the only negative issue was that i was concerned the bag might not hold all of my gear & clothes. i unzipped the liner and put small items inside the liner, which did provide enough room for all my gear & clothes for a week. the bag does not allow fins to be placed on the side, so they take up room in the main compartment.

I purchased two of these bags to replace one GIANT Akona bag which I foolishly procured a couple of years ago to hold complete gear for two people. MISTAKE. With two people's kits, the bag was always pushing up against the 50 lb weight limit for check baggage and was a major burden to handle due to its dimensions and weight. Much less, not suitable for small air hops from mainland to island, e.g. Caye Caulker or Ambergris. So, to the actual review. The bags are adequate in size to hold a complete set of gear including full length fins with room to spare. Full loaded with dive gear, save-a-dive kit, wetsuit, etc. my bag weighed 32 lbs. The outside expansion pocket and top pocket are large enough to pack light weight clothing for a tropical destination which will enable me to downsize my carry-on backpack to some emergency clothes, swimsuit, my regulator and prescription mask. The dimensions of the bag are in tolerance for small aircraft baggage limits (I checked). The bag is NOT suitable as a carry-on as it exceeds the carry-on dimensions for all commercial carriers. I highly doubt a person could slide by trying to carry it on because it is quite tall at 33". The max carry-on height for AA, United and Delta is 22". The bag appears to be very well made. The compression straps around the external expansion pockets are wide with sturdy buckles. The bag has a carry handle at the base and at the top for ease of lifting. The extendable pull handle operates smoothly and also seems sturdy. Inside, you will find one large compartment with more compression straps as well as a mesh zipper compartment which sits opposite the main compartment on the "door" or flap of the bag. This is a nice place for thin items such as paperwork, maps, perhaps thin swim wear, rash guard, etc. All in all, having not yet traveled with this bag, I am very happy with the purchase and happier still to retire the bag we have named "Big Bertha." Next trip July to Cozumel, so I will post an update after the first field test.

I've used this bag on 4 dive trips. It easily held 7mm farmer john wetsuit, hood and gloves; scubapro equator bc; D350 / MK 10 reg; twin jet fins; mask; stahlsac dry bag; and clothing. Interior and exterior storage area worked very well and straps are great. I'd purchase product again.

So far, this luggage has been through 6 flights. I like that this piece has two main compartments. I used the bottom larger compartment for all my scuba gear, including BC, wetsuit, booties, mask/fins, Reg & gear bag. The top compartment was able to fit clothes for 10 days including two pairs of sandals and all toiletrie items, and even 5 lbs of non-perishable foods. The luggage is one of the lightest weight pieces I've found. I like that it can stand upright completely packed with 50 pounds. The only oomplaint (and a big one), is that the luggage suffered a 1 1/2-inch rip in the outer material along the upper side on the edge at the back where the metal rods are. It appears that the lightweight material sacrifices the durability too much.

I bought this bag after reading a review in a dive magazine about how it could fit a full set of cold water gear and I wanted to get a high quality bag. There is no way I can fit my Zeagle Stilleto BC, 7mm suit, fins, etc in this bag. Also the cinch straps are awkward to use. No I have to pay to send it back

This is my first real piece of "dive" luggage, bought in anticipation of an upcoming international trip. I compared this to the Stahlsac "Jamaican Smugger" and decided that I wanted the separate compartments since this will be my only luggage on this trip. So far I've only done a test-packing of gear, and it looks mostly good. Currently it's got a non-tropical set (stainless backplate, wing, 5mm XXL jumpsuit), fins, weight harness, and some accessories and I would say it's "mostly" full in the bottom gear compartment. With all of that, I have 9lbs left before I hit the magic 50lbs cutoff. Which brings up one of the best features - this is LIGHT. It's amazing how they managed to combine sturdy (by feel, haven't flown yet) with lightness. It's nice that Stahlsac has finally caught up with the other mfgrs who went lightweight once the airlines cracked down on baggage. I was sort of hoping to be able to fit a 2nd BCD into it (for my wife) but that doesn't look likely. I should have enough room for my clothes in the smaller top compartment as long as I stick to lighter warm-weather clothes. Since I don't yet know how well the compartments isolate moisture, I'm probably going to back dry clothes in plastic "just in case". The top and bottom handles are a nice touch for wrangling the loaded bag around without stressing the fabric. The two ample cinch straps seem to do a nice job of pulling everything into a nice compact package. I don't know if I'm going to claiming it's carry-on, mostly due to length.
