Sea & Sea Silicone Grease is specifically formulated to provide the necessary lubrication for your O-rings. It helps maintain the elasticity of the O-ring, allowing it to mold uniformly around the channel and create an effective seal. Using other types of grease may cause the O-ring to become sticky and attract debris, compromising the seal.
You should inspect and service the O-ring every time you open your underwater camera system to change film or batteries. It's also recommended to clean with fresh water and lubricate with Sea & Sea Silicone Grease after every diving day to maintain the O-ring's optimal condition.
Sea & Sea Silicone Grease is recommended for use exclusively on Sea & Sea products. Using it on other brands may not provide the same level of protection and could potentially harm the equipment.
For best results, use Sea & Sea's O-ring remover tool when removing the O-ring for lubrication. The grease is conveniently packaged in a resealable squeeze tube, making it easy to apply.
In addition to ensuring a watertight seal, Sea & Sea Silicone Grease also conditions, maintains, and cleans your O-rings, helping to prolong their lifespan and maintain optimal performance.

Sea & Sea says to only use their grease for their products. Well I found out the hard way that they are right. The cheaper tub like silicon grease will swell the Sea & Sea O-rings to the point where they no longer fit. If you have Sea & Sea products you are are stuck using this overpriced stuff, however it is a high quality grease and it hasn't harmed any of my other brand equipment.

O-rings are the most important components of your underwater camera system. If the O-ring is lubricated, it will be elastic enough to shape itself uniformly around the channel providing a proper seal. If it is dry, there will be too much friction to allow it to reshape itself uniformly. It will not safeguard against flooding. Underwater photographic equipment cannot be watertight unless the O-rings that seal it are flawless. O-rings may be cleaned with fresh water and then lubricated with Sea & Sea Silicone Grease. It is important to use only the suggested silicone grease by the manufacturer. Other types of- grease may cause the O-Ring to become gummy and attracting debris. Every time you open the photographic equipment to change film or batteries, examine the O-ring and service if necessary. Always clean and lubricate after every diving day. Sea & Sea recommends you only use Sea & Sea Silicone Grease on Sea & Sea products. O-Ring Grease makes a great safe-a-dive-kit item and you should keep one in your camera bag or case. Use Sea & Sea's O-ring remover tool (see SKU SSORR) when removing O-ring to lubricate. Grease comes in a convenient resealable 0.16 oz. (4.5g) squeeze tube.
